Shadowdome Lobby
Shortly after crossing through the forbidding threshold which is crowned by two stone-carved demons, you find yourself in the lobby of Dassans home, err, the Shadowdome. As the place of residence and the place of the Shadow Tournament, it is respectively quite dark and has a strong feeling of foreboding.
The floors are made of black granite with some gold flecks catching the eye when there is light to catch them. The entire place is as dark as a dungeon, though there are torches in holsters along the walls.
The lobby itself is rather large; there are a total of three fireplaces, but each one burns with a different color fire; on the east wall, the fire is the normal redish color, but on the north wall, the fire burns green, and on the west wall, the fire burns purple. It is rather disconcerting, it is to be sure. Adding another slight splash of light to the room is a massive chandelier. It is beautiful, but it has a cold, odd beauty to it. You realize, with a slight chill, that the chandelier is made almost entirely out of ribs of deceased dragons. Their withered claws and hands hold the candles and teeth dangle down like jewels. Suddenly, you look down at the granite and, upon closer inspection, what you thought were just the normal flecks in granite actually turn out to be scales from a Golden Thunder dragon. Fully un-nerved, you try to find a seat.
The seats, as evil often goes, are quite luxurious, until you realize that, once again, the feet of the chairs are real feet, dragon claws and hands up to the wrist. Still . . . all things considered, it was really quite a lovely chair . . .
There is a fountain identical to the one in the courtyard in the center of the room and, as with the one located outside, you decide it would be best to avoid it. The room is rather uncomfortable with its large space and so little furniture occupying it, not to mention the ghastly things the furniture are made from. Still, this is the lobby of the Shadowdome, and this is where you must wait.
