Azra had limped back to Athrun's den, the only place she was safe to have these cubs. She could not believe what had happened just moments before. The pregnant lioness had just got her first contraction when she was at the watering hole where she met a lion. The pains got worse and worse with each passing second to the point of forcing her back here.
"ATHRUN!" She cried out, falling to her side just outside the den, her paws gripped around her tummy as clear liquid dripped down her inner thighs, her water broke.
Cries of pain shattered the noises of the night with pain and horror. Surely, that would attract some unwanted company. Azra withed in pain and curled herself up around her bulge. "Athrun....!" she cried out. The pain was tremendous, it was as if the cubs were pushing at her inner linings trying to get out themselves.

Lifting his head up from his slumber as he heard his name screamed, the god felt something sting his stomach for a moment as he panicked. Had something happened to Az? Was she hurt?
"Az?" He called back out, scrambling to his feet and all but flying to the entrance to the den they'd found only a week before.
And his heart nearly gave out at the sight he found. Jumping to his mate's side he covered her with one of his large wings and laid as close to her back as he could manage without her hurting him.
"It's okay baby, I'm here now. It'll be alright." Athrun said through the lump in his throat, he didn't nescicarilly know if it would be okay, but he was praying to any god he could remember or knew that it would be. ninja

Azra turned over and gripped onto her mate's fur, she could not take much more. The contractions were getting stronger and longer, it was not long now. "Athrun..." she moaned, tears of pain streaming down her face as she pushed herself up against him for any sense comfort, safety, and life. Inside of the lioness, new life was coming, how many? Two or more.
Her cries grew softer to the point of crying without sound. The contractions were now thining and it was getting closer to her time.
They were coming. "Athrun....they're....they're...."

It was all he could do not to panick and cry himself. Athrun hated seeing his mate in pain, hated it beyond the words of the mortal plain. Wrapping his wings tighter around her and hugging her with both his front legs, the god shivered in fear.
Too much had happened to those he loved, what if something happened to Azra too? Pressing the top of his head against hers he murred deep down in his chest in an attempt to calm her down. It was all he could do for her, despite his evident panick.
"It's okay baby, just breath. It'll be fine I promise." Athrun crooned down at her. ninja

Azra breathed in short, heavy breathes, pushing herself. The contractions have gotten stronger, longer, and much more frequent. Inside her head she counted, 1....2.....3.....4....5....6.....7....., over and over did she count, the consecutive numbers, counting to the time of giving new life and possibly her death.
54.....55....56....57....58 she counted mentally, gripping and curled up against the God of Loneliness, when a jolt of pain surged through her body. An ear splitting cry shattered the air as she felt warm liquid flow down her inner thigh and something heavy on her leg.
Azra whimpered in pain, looking back to the cub she just bore. "Ath...run..." she moaned. The now-a-mother lioness was in too much pain to even reach back when another contraction started. She could still see the infant. A male, fur as dark as Athrun's mane, and the Eye of Horus just like his father's. Apparently, this wasn't going to be easy.
Is this Equivalent Exchange? To give new life must I die? If it is so then I accept it. Azra thought to herself, a smile behind her mask of pain.

Wrapping her as tight against his body as he could, Athrun murred down in his chest as he evened out his breaths with his mate's in an attempt to help her some. He knew it wasn't much but it was all he could do to hold onto her with all the fear.
Eyes flashed behind the black blindfold as tears worked their way down his white cheeks as she gave birth to her first cub, a son with colors so like his own. As she leaned back down to the ground he curled forward and grabbed the cub by the belly, pulling himself a little from her and placing the cub as gently on the ground next to Azra's belly as he could.
"Azra... look." Athrun said in an uneven voice. He had a son, their first cub was a son.
Unspokenly the god promised that no matter what he had to give up this time he would see his cubs grow to adults. Even if it killed him. Nothing would happen to his family, he wouldn't let it.
Reaching down he licked Azraceri's cheek and laid his head over her neck protectivly. ninja

The second one was nearing ever so close. This pain was much more than the dark red that was now in her arms. She licked him clean of his protective membrane and listened to his weak cries. The cub moved over to his father and cried again. Azra looked up at Athrun's face, tears falling from his blindfold, as if the Eye of Horus was crying.
"He's so small....and our's." Strangely, the cub started to mouth on Athrun's fur with strange growling noises. It made her chuckle.
However, that moment of sudden peace was short lived when she felt another jolt of pain from her cervix. "Oh God!" she cried, muffling her cries of pains. Her body shivered uncontrollably, her claws digging into the earth. Her back arched as the same feeling parted from her, pain and then relief.
The weak lioness' violet eyes glanced from Athrun's face, to the dark cub's gnawing and then down to the cub between her legs. It was a male, white like his father, markings of his father in her colors. Sort of disappointed that niether of them adopted her orange pelt, but was glad that they were together and she lived to see it.
Her maw fell to a smile and heavy pants caused her body to shift. She was glad that this ordeal was finally over.

Athrun glanced down at the small red cub as he nipped at his belly with his toothless mouth. It made the old god chuckle a little as he cried with joy and fear. It was such a warm feeling knowing that he was having cubs again, but such a painful one knowing that Azraceri was in such tremendous pain because of him.
Wrapping his front legs around her again as she cried out he held her as tight as he could until it was all over. And suddenly, as a white and purple male came into being it was over.
Tears ran down his white cheeks as Athrun licked Azra's cheeks softly, murring so happily that he thought his body would just dissapear on the wind because for once he was no longer lonely. Even with his past mate and cubs, he'd never been this happy.
"Az.. it's over. It's over and look..." But he couldn't finish what he wanted to say. ninja

"My three boys..." she panted, calming down from her moment of heightened pain. Azra relaxed onto her back, her eyes falling onto the two cubs between her and Athrun. The lioness could only smile, Athrun and her family. Pulling the red furred cub onto her chest, Azra purred, "I want to name this one." Azra purred, smiling to the male, "Yadumugandama."
This was so different than before. Her first family was her actual first, she only spent a week with them...just a single week with them made her feel so happy, life fufilled....then they just disappeared. Her second family hardly began and was already lost. Now here, her third try for one and she hoped it would be the last. Her loved Athrun and her cubs. Tears of happiness slipped down her face as she the cub.
"Athrun...I. I can't believe this is happening....it just seemed so, fast."

Athrun was for once in his entire long life speechless. There weren't words for what he'd just seen, or if there were at least he couldn't think of them. All the lion god could do was lay on his side with his wing draped over his mate and attempt to stop crying.
It felt like something in his chest was burning so brightly that his body would just peel away from it like a husk and he would float off to space to share his joy with the world. He'd never seen anything so incredible in his existance as this.
Leaning forward after a long moment he licked her cheek again and turned down to the white and purple boy with watery eyes, glad that Azra couldn't see them suddenly.
"And what of this one then, my love?" He asked in a shaky voice as he laid his head on her belly softly. The heat coming off of her body made him feel like he was on a different planet. ninja

Azra smiled from the God, to the cub, and to the God again. She reached down leaving the yipping cub on her chest and moved the youngest up to Athrun. They were in this together now. They were parents two sides of the same coin. Without either of them, these two lives would not have been brought forth. Azra had named one of the cubs, now it was his. "Ath, you name this one."
The cub, dubbed Yadumugandama, stumbled from his mother's chest and flopped to the ground. SHowing no reaction he continued his little journey to his brother or was it? Dumu crawled over the younger infant and stumbled over to his father. Oddly, he reached up and licked the tears; salty and wet. He gave off a strange, undeveloped purr and stared at his father.

Athrun gazed down at both of the cubs, the little white and purple cub that was thrust into his paws and the little red male that was licking his tears away and purring at him. Licking both of their small heads he felt like he was on cloud nine.
"Akiiki. That's his name." he said gazing at the little white and purple boy with his closed eyes. "It just seems right somehow."
A small pair of eyes were still glued shut together, though Akiiki didn't entirely care one way or the other. All he really cared about was the fact that something his own size rolled over him and it made him mutter under his soft breath. ninja

Dumu flopped back down and nestled next Akiiki and between his parents. The warmth of three was better than that of inside Azra. It was different. The red furred cub yipped once more before settling himself against Aki and Athrun, Azra's paw resting on the two. Dumu fell alseep.
Azra smiled, "Akiiki?" she chuckled it was simple and much better than what she thought of. Strange, Dumu's name was that of Athrun's past. Stopped living for so long to only start again when they became one. Why did she give it to him? Who knew. The mother panted desipated and she curled up close to the three males. Yawning softly, she rested her head under Athrun's. "Thank you...." she murmured before drifting.
Strange, the three were outside in the open to the night with two newborns. Stupid, huh?

Akiiki pushed at his sleeping brother with his hind legs as he worked his way over to his mother's belly and grabbed ahold of what it was he wanted. Warm liquid poured into his empty belly and he murred contently around it as he sucked like... well... like a cub.
"Yes, Akiiki. It means Friendly, it fits him doesn't it?" Athrun said with a wiley grin, nuzzling under Azraceri's neck as he draped a wing over his new family. Despite the cold are the blew around the four of them, Athrun's wing radiated heat that would keep them warm.
Sometimes it was good to be a god, though they didn't outweigh the bad most of the time.
"Thank you my love." He said, licking her cheek one last time. ninja
