Has anyone read this? The Spice Planet is the original Dune that was written. It to is written by Frank Herbert. The Spice Planet was written just like every other sci-fi novel of the time and would have been easily published. As we all know there was something more about the Dune we all know and love. It isn't your run of the mill sci-fi story. Dune itself as we know it was turned down by several publishing companies. It was finaly published by a company that writes and published car repair manuals. If the original The Spice Planet was pubished not many people would have taken notice and it probably wouldn't have become the great series as we know it today. For those of you who don't know The Spice Planet is now published for all to read. It is the second half to The Road to Dune book. The Road to Dune also contains chapters that did not make it into the original Dune and other short stories about Dune. That is the first half of Road to Dune. The second have is The Spice Planet.

I've not read this yet. I'll see if I can find it and add it to my library.
