What plot lines would you like to have seen in RD? Let's see what you would like to have watched in Season 9 (or Season 7, if you chose to disregard the existing 7 & 8! biggrin )
For myself, I would like to have something more with the Lister as God theme. Maybe they could run into a planet inhabited by some of the cat-people who left RD in search of Fujal. Or maybe something with the Lister re-starting the Big Bang (if that's a real plot line, since it's from the Despair Squid hallucination). Either way, Lister's been called God twice. Since Rimmer got to be god already (on Rimmerworld), I think Lister should have a shot.
Maybe if they did find the planet of cat-people, Lister and Cat could have fought it out for ultimate god-hood. Of course, Cat could have been burned as a heretic! biggrin
Then there's the whole Future Self theme. (If the actors get much older before the movie comes about, maybe they can play their future selves. Not that I think I could handle two hours of that!)

I allways been wondering about the twins that Lister gave birth to. Will they come back from the alternate univers to see their "Mother".
Or the on from Stasis Leak. Will Lister marry Kochanski? The old version of her not the new. But the seven and eight seasons are funny.

Ooooh, good question! whee What would I like to see?
...
...
Ok, Jewel has just discivered that she is devoid of creativity or originality - so much so that she has resorted to speaking in the thurd person. sweatdrop That's my way of saying, I have NO idea! Though personally, I want them to just finish the DAMNED cliffhanger that they left Series 8 on! Did Rimmer die? Did he live? Did he get off of Red Dwarf? What happened to the others? Were they all separated? WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED GRANT/NAYLOR, WHAT HAPPENED?!?!?!? gonk
...
And now, your illustrious guild leader shall be put back in her box to save everyone from her ever-so-slightly-hyperactive late night ramblings and hysterics. sweatdrop

Oh, but your ramblings and hysterics are perfectly justified. That ending is so frustrating!

It would have been mor practical. I wonder if the series didn't continue because the one writer left, and everything got changed. Were seasons & & 8 popular in Britan? As popular as the first six?

No idea, but perhaps they would have actually gotten somewhere if they had tried to continue the series. We all know the movie's out of reach at this point.

Well... For all we know, all the cat people are like that and he's just normal. He was a priest of their religion after all. And since Cat's parents were "the cripple and the idiot," they probably were. Still, it would have been fun to see.

The Inquisitor would make a great character for a totally separate series. I'd also would like to have seen a few bits about the crew from the parallel universe. Wonder if either of authors will follow up on any of these plot lines as a new book or series of books? As the actors get older, books might be the best alternative to keeping the story going.

Talking about the mutated film developing liquid made me think about the young Lister. Which made me thing that a prequel would be nice. They never touched on any of the book material about how Lister and Rimmer met. It's a possibility that they could make a prequel using different actors to be the young Lister and the young Rimmer. Not sure how I'd feel about different actors playing their roles, but it's one way to keep the series going in film. Holly would have to be the same, though.
