This is where you post applications for Star Wars: Gavotte. Applications will then be edited by myself or Krome. We'll put notes at the bottom to tell you our evaluation. Please do not attempt to post crap, as we will hold nothing back in our evaluations. We want you to have fun, but we also want characters that can develop, and thus, *allow* you to have fun.

Man, I want in. Finally, someone else who dissaproves of magical sword elfes xp

Problem is, I got homewrok and junk to do right now. Can I "reserve" myself a spot and write my application when I have more time? Probably tomorrow, but if worst coems to worst I may have to do it on the weekend/friday.

Just thought I'd mention that Milk is best for me. Tryin' to loose some weight and lower my blood pressure, so I gotta skip on the chocolate.

((OHSNAP. I'm excited. xD))

1. Name: Ness (Nesserace) Kabis

2. Race: Human

3. Gender: Female

4. Job: Interceptor (A Wing)

5. Appearence: N. Kabis doesn't spend enough time in front of the mirror, to the extent that, if asked, she probably couldn't describe herself. She stands at a comfortable five feet, five inches and sports cropped brown hair with dark green eyes. She keeps her hair short to avoid the extra work it would take to make it look nice. Physically, she is fit and slim, strong without looking stocky. Her erect posture is always present while standing, and most of the time shows through while she sits.

6. Weapons: Blaster pistol (x2), hold-out blaster (x1), blaster rifle (x1), utility knife (x1), arsenal always pending on current locale.

7. Skills: Ness's training was diverse, but limited. She is a qualified field medic, and is known to answer to "Doc". Her makeshift splints and tourniquets have been lifesavers on different occasions. Although she's definetly not as tech-savvy as her colleagues, she is a trained explosive ordinance detonator (yes, that means she usually knows whether to cut the red wire, the blue wire, or the purple wire). Her medical and EOD skills, although almost useless in the cockpit, are valuable resources nonetheless.

8. Personality: Ness bristles with personality-- just not the charismatic type. She lacks the felicity of expression that graces other women, a main reason she never attempted to enter the political arena. Ness has been known to grunt profanity under her breath, and exchange rude humor with her friends. Never taught to deal in social situations, Ness avoids most social events. She is uncomfortable in a large group of strangers, and has often described herself as being "claustraphobic in a crowd".

Quite contrary to her social predicament, Ness loves the individual, especially those in need of her help. Her heart goes out to the wounded and the oppressed-- hence her status as a pilot and a field medic. She is fiercely bloodthirsty when it comes to her enemies; she pursues them with a wild (but not reckless) devotion. She's always one for the "good guys" winning. On the same line, she doesn't tolerate hazing, bullying, or intimidation anywhere, be it in her flight, in her family, or in everyday life.

Although it takes her quite some time to make friends, once they are hers, she doesn't let them go. She cares deeply for her colleagues, especially those who would risk their lives and fly with her. She often times comes across as being skeptical, but when her doubting-Thomas nature is fleshed out, her skepticism turns to caution. She would die for her wingmates, and doesn't want them to die due to an intelligence err. She's far from being a mother hen, however, and her mental position is comparable to an infantry's first sergent.

9. Biography: Nesserace Kabis likes to say that she's "seen it all". Born just before the Galactic Civil War, she was one of billions of witnesses to one of the galaxy's most drastic shifts of power. She was born on "Bastion", but during her early years relocated to many other locales in the Sartinaynian System to escape repeated Imperialistic opression. Having seen and witnessed the horrors of the Imperial government, Nesserace established lifelong political views, and leans heavily towards objectivism.

Her father, too, became fed up with the opressing Imperial Forces, and offered his mechanical skills to the Rebellion. Thus, Nesserace was exposed to the other side of the spectrum: blissful barely-there government. Although her mother was less than pleased with the idea of joining the rebellion, Mrs. Kabis followed her husband to the Rebel Alliance and served in logistics. A young Nesserace, too, did what she could to help, even though it usually constituted loblolly or custodial duties.

As she grew older and matured, however, she began to take a more active role in ensuring victory for the rebellion. She moved up from the equivalent of a ship's cabin boy to making freighter runs. Her piloting skills improved, and her parents payed her way to attend a piloting academy. Upon graduation, she attended an advanced initial training course in field medicine. Post-graduation, she served as a pilot and a field medic with the Rebellion Advance, and kept herself on the front as much as she could.

An unfortunate side-effect of her hanging out with nothing but men for almost two years was the development of a drinking problem. Although Ness kept herself clean from spices and other illict materials, she discovered that one of her favorite ways to fall asleep was via the bottle and flask. Although she's no hardcore alchoholic, she's far beyond a social drinker.

Just before the Rebellion's victory over the Imperial Empire, Ness began to focus more on one of her favorite ships: the A-Wing. As she continued to hone her skills as an interceptor and light fighter, she discovered that she actually had a gift in this area. In the aftermath of the Galactic Civil War, she pursued the idea of becoming a full-time combat pilot, and found herself in a class with the best.

Submit your application as soon as you can; I doubt it'll fill up by tomorrow. razz There's no rush, at least not yet. Make sure you go back and read ALL of the thread though, especially the requirements for the "opener" post.

1. Name-- Merissa Tarliana

2. Race-- Human

3. Gender-- Female

4. Job-- Fighter, (X-Wing)

5. Appearance—Merissa is about your average human, 5’8, skin a few shades darker than your average white. Her eyes are a very striking feature, an almost luminous purple, but what people tend to notice first about her is the fact that she has a purple metallic streak down a lock of her hair. Even close examination of the roots of the hair seem to give people no clue whether it’s natural or she dyes it, though the likely answer is that she dyes it. She keeps herself in fairly good shape, and considers herself fairly attractive, without being vain about it.

6. Weapons—She generally keeps a blaster on herself and keeps it charged and prominently displayed, but she likely couldn’t hit the broad side of a capital ship if she intended too. She also keeps a vibroblade in her boot; it’s kept sharp and she’s competent with it (which means she knows which end to stick in someone), but it’s more used for utility purposes than anything. (she’s taken many self defense courses to help make up for her lack of skill with a blaster so she’s able to defend herself somewhat.)

She always has an assortment of tools with her, whether it’s a mini tool set or a large tool box she’s almost never without. They’re not really suitable to be used as weapons though.

7. Skills-- Her biggest skill is that she’s a mechanic. She’s extremely good at fixing things and repairing things. She worked for several years as a grease monkey and can fix most anything starship related, given the right tools and equipment.

Piloting… DUH. She loves to pilot and seems to have a natural skill for it, one that is highlighted and augmented by her practicing.
She’s a hobby hacker, she knows enough about computers to mess around with them and knows a few computer tricks but anything major is beyond her.

She is absolutely not a good leader, though she may not really be aware of this... (explained below)

8. Personality-- Merissa loves life and she loves to do the things that she enjoys. She’s very outgoing but she’s also very competitive. She constantly strives to outdo the people around her. Not in an obnoxious way, but in things she considers her strengths, she works hard to get herself to a high level.

She’s a great mechanic, she’s very good at seeing how things work, knowing how they fit together and when something’s wrong how best to fix it. Part of it is natural skill, part is sheer experience.

Her entire upbringing was around ships and pilots, so she talks very much like a hardened spacer, even though she’s only 20. She’s comfortable in that area, and she has a blunt and straightforward manner, though she usually likes to tease or make jokes. She doesn’t always know when jokes aren’t appropriate however.

Her nature causes her to get annoyed at people who stress over every little thing, and allow or manufacture drama in their lives. It’s because of this that she is absolutely not a good leader. She doesn’t pay attention to small details when making plans to do something, or even big details for that matter.

She enjoys going to bars on a fairly regular basis. She’s not an alcoholic or anything but on the rare occasions that she drinks, she can get a little out of control, and she can’t always handle her liquor.

Though it’s a rare occurrence, she loves to dance at whatever club happens to be open. This only occurs when she might be on planet leave on an occupied world.

Because of her education, or lack thereof, she’s not a very academic person. She’s very good at any math involving ships, and she knows how to read from the specs on ships, but apart from that, she has absolutely none of the academics most children grow up with.

9. Bio— Her upbringing was anything but normal. Her mother was a smuggler who would usually bring her along on trips, and her father was a completely unknown entity. Merissa was never even sure if her mother knew what he looked like. The guise of a mother and child on the run was usually a good cover for smuggling. This was her entire upbringing and she loved it. Her mother was never the best smuggler, but she had a decent ship and she wasn’t one who would take too many stupid chances.

At about age 13 her mother was killed in the Battle of Nar Shadaa, a bid by the empire to destroy the hutts. Due to some bribery on the hutts part and some bravery on the part of the smugglers, the offensive was defeated.

She was kind of adopted as kind of a charity case in the shop her mother frequented. People could say what they liked about smugglers, but they took care of their own. Merissa worked for almost 3 years in that shop on Nar Shadaa servicing ships.

Then one day, her shop was serving an old Kuati freighter when the imperials launched a raid. Suspecting (correctly) that the freighter had ties to the rebellion, they came in and started stunning or killing anyone they could trying to keep people from escaping. She was noticed by one of the freighters flight crew and tugged on board to keep her out of harms way as they took off, making a break for it.

She found out a few months later that most of her friends had actually survived the raid, slipping out through little escape holes or not so reported exits. However, that was twice that the Empire had taken her life away from her, she was determined to help stop it.

Her experience as a mechanic was absolutely invaluable. She spent the next two years in various republic bases servicing all sorts of ships.
Working on ships for so long has allowed her to be around them pretty much 24/7, and she has a good idea of their capabilities and their weaknesses; she's practically a walking encyclopedia on different types of ships.

Since Merissa joined the Rebellion, she's found that it doesn’t offer a lot in the way of leisure time for her, so she spent most of it in the simulators. She enjoyed actually piloting the crafts she’d spent so long working on. And unlike some of the sports and things her friends got her to attempt to try she was actually good at this. (besides…who wanted to play a game where the only point was to put a ball through a circle above their heads or to stop the other side from doing so?) She began spending all her free times in the sims, and very quickly became a really good pilot.

With her talent, and the skill that even some of the actual combat experienced pilots would comment on after flying with (or against) her in a sim run, she soon decided that she wanted to try her hand at the piloting ranks. So when the option to apply for a new squadron came up, she jumped at the chance.

Sure, I suppose. Just run it by me first...natural talents, stuff like that (via PM). So long as it isn't too overwhelmingly powerful then it'll be fine.
Though I will admit to a bit of surprise that you couldn't find one on Wiki, out of the whole list, that would fit you eek lol

But yeah. Just tell me what they're like and where they come from, stuff like that.

Name-- Rowan Arlo

Race-- Trianii

Gender-- Female

Job-- Fighter

Appearance-- Her fur is off white, she is meticulous about keeping it very clean when she's not in the field. On her cheeks she has dark slashes of color that are the same color of her mane. Her mane or "hair" is a golden red that falls past her shoulders. She is a few inches taller than the average height of a woman, her build is thin, compact, and very strong looking. She generally wears fitted clothing so as not to restrict her if she needs to fight. Her eyes are gold and when angered her eyes shift to red. [x]

6. Weapons-- Two Blaster Pistols and various small throwing knives

7. Skills-- Fighting, Hacking, Spying, Scouting, Piloting

8. Personality-- Rowan is an ice queen. It takes a lot of time spent with her for her to warm up to you. Otherwise she appears not to like anyone and for reasons she doesn't divulge, especially men or males of any kind. She will be a team player if commanded to do so or if she sees it will be the most beneficial, otherwise she likes spending time by herself.

9. Bio-- She was born to a loving mother and father on her home planet. Her father was a General in the armed forces so it was him who got her interested in joining in teh army. Her mother managed to teach her how to keep a home before she started her training. She impressed her superiors enough that she rose through the ranks quickly but stopped suddenly when she learned about the Trianii Rangers.
10 years later she was captured and imprisoned at Star's End after she was interrogated. She took a vow of silence when she was captured, upset that she'd been captured anyway and even more upset when she learned that the Rangers were starting to dwindle in numbers. She kept up her vow of silence for the duration of her stay at Star's End which was 8 years. When she was released she needed to relearn how to speak. She went home, her father was dead, her mother a widow and quite ill, she stayed with her mother for five years until her death. After burying her mother she left to join the new Republic.
She did this mostly out of curiosity more than anything and is liking it so far though she wont admit it.
((Edit: Geez.....))

(Mmmm Star Wars.-blows dust off all his guidebooks and starts digging-)

1. Name-- Li Pho'Ha

2. Race-- Pho Ph'eahian
(so you dont have to dredge through the races section, and cause it has two pictures: Pho Ph'eahian

3. Gender-- Male

4. Job-- Heavy Fighter(B-wing)

5. Appearance-- An average in height, shape and weight, with startling blue fur and merry eyes, the Pho Ph'eahian was typical of his race, the alien creature was quick to smile and it showed on his face as he spoke and acted.

He stands roughly 6 feet in height, and his "higher"(wher a human's would be) arms just a tad more elongated than a humans, with thin, dexterous fingers. His belt carries a heavy amount of tools and equipment, including spare wire, scanning equipment, a small datapad, and other such useful items. Prominently displayed on the front, within easy reach, is a small container of clean water(which is airtight and cna be closed when not needed, and a small towel looped next to it

6. Weapons-- A simple brace of blasters, which he has rarely(if ever) fired, though they are as well-cared for as his ship. He carries at any time one-to-four knives, moslty used in cutting a piece of spare wire when a tool is not available or won't work, though he is proficient at throwing and aiming them.(and can also do a few tricks with them between his four hands, though it is mostly for entertainment)

7. Skills-- He is like most of his race, being more than capable in Engineering, specializing in shields and hyperdrives.

His strongest skill is in his ability to concentrate on more than one target in a fight, and predict the trajectories of his shots, his four arms giving him the control of both pilot and a seperate gunner in his B-wing fighter. In essence, he is a crack shot.

He is also, surprisingly, a good acrobat, able to tumble and flip, though it is more of a party trick than an actual skill.

8. Personality --
Honest and cheerful, Li Pho'Ha strives to make friends with everyone he meets, and would rather ignore a slight or an insult than accuse the insulter of an action. Out of the cockpit, he likes to hum or whistle songs as he works, juggle tools and parts between hands, especially when someone is within view to watch him.
When inside the cockpit he loves to push himself with dazzling spins and shots, though time has tempered what was probably a daredevil in his youth.
He can be friendly and cheerful, but he tends to be inward with his own problems, staying away from things such as ship politics, and will rarely take sides in an argument between squadmates, preffering to try his best to nullify it.
Even when deep inside a ship's hyperdrive, he takes the first chance he gets of not working to keep himself clean, a complete "neat-freak", with his personal quarters and cockpit as clean as if they were in the vacuum of space. He is disgusted by bad hygiene, and will quietly slip away after a mission to clena up first, and can act a bit sharp until he's bathed.

9. Bio--
Originally an engineer on his home planet, Li abandoned his world to take up a more lucrative job off-planet, fixing and helping build Imperial fighters and ships in orbit. Though he won't admit that the working conditions nor the job was particularly pleasing, it kept him close to the ships he had a fascination for, and payed well. A small population of his own race also gave him a bit of pleasure in an otherwise expansive facility.

A few years into his job Li was witness to an Imperial officer shooting another of his kind for making a mistake, and dropping a small, but expensive, hyperdrive component, decided his quickly leaving his job.

So he packed up, and slipped out, and was quickly taken in by the public sector, repairing things from Droids to landsppeders, as well as small, personal craft and the like. A brief time ona number of muddy, disgusting worlds finally led to a mroe hospitable one, where he eventually bumped into a Rebel operative, and after helping him make a few quick repairs, was assimilated into the fledgling Rebellion without much fuss, filling in an important, and growing need for ship engineers.

Working on the Fighters and smaller attack craft,a dn speaking with their pilots, he started to nurture a want to ride one of the machines he was working on, and grilled as many fighter pilots as he could, often cornering them in bars and on leave, pressuring them into giving him tips and information. His free time became obsessed with Sims and training for flight, using older, not in use fighters after the Second Death Star was destroyed.

After a brief decision he chose the B-wing for his own purposes, enjoying the way it handled and the easily customized Hardpoints. While unwieldy in msot pilots, his skill in reading tajectories and knowing how his ship will react under the stress of spinning and turning(from constantly working on it), gives him an edge when fighting rather than making it a disadvantage. While he has little actual combat experience, a natural talent for aim, his ability to "Read" what his fighter is able to do and pushing its limits gives him an even footing with more experienced pilots.

And when the call recruiting fighter pilots came out, he crossed all four hands' worth of fingers and signed in...

((hope thats good, if anythigns too short or wanted to be expanded upon, please ask^_^, also going to expand the Bio soon, jsut need time to think of more stuff))

1. Name-- Glorianna Belladonna

2. Race-- Rutian Twi’lek (link to species: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Twi'lek )

3. Gender-- female

4. Job-- Fighter (X-wing)

5. Appearance-- Glory has the typical turquoise skin colouring of a Rutian Twi’lek as well as the two lekku protruding from her head and down her back. On her own world, the size and shape of the lekku would have made her desirable to pretty much anyone, but she has never seen her own planet so isn’t aware of this fact. She is tall, with a well proportioned and toned body. She is surprisingly strong for her body type but she generally chalks this up to people never seeing past her curves to realise there is a lot of lean, strong muscle on her body. She has large sapphire coloured eyes, a sensual, full mouth and ‘cute’ little nose. While she is definitely not vain, she does take care of herself and her appearance as she considers it an asset. When not in uniform, she wears cropped tank, or one-shouldered, tops, fitted pants. As with many of her race, she always wears a headpiece of some sort and wraps her lekku in various ways depending on her mood.

6. Weapons-- She keeps a Blaster Pistol holstered on each thigh and a medium length blade sheathed on each boot for close range fighting.

7. Skills-- She is very adept at reading people and situations and she usually knows exactly what to do or say to get the reaction or outcome she really wants. She is fairly competent with most weapons but prefers, and is best with, hand-to-hand fighting - although not exactly useful for a pilot it’s not something she lets slide with a lack of practice. Since she was almost always the only girl raised around a number of boys, and then men, she learned how to defend herself at a very young age.

8. Personality--Despite outward appearances, Glorianna is an incredibly shrewd woman - she is only average when it comes to book smarts due to her upbringing, but she never comes across as stupid. She is usually quite friendly, unless she gets an uneasy vibe off of a person, in which case she can become short to the point of rudeness as she hates associating with people she believes are phoney, trying to trick her, or trying to keep something from her. It takes her a while to trust people but once it is gained there is little a person can do to lose it.

Generally, because of her upbringing and experiences, she much prefers the company of men to women. With men she can flirt and have fun and since she is more relaxed conversation flows far more easily. Women also always seem to be suspicious of her, though that’s probably largely due to the stereotypes about her species. In large groups she tends to stay quiet as she prefers to watch and gather information about people. At the right moment though, she will usually speak up and say something to end a conversation or change the subject if she’s bored, or say something to spark a debate - a comment someone said earlier, a small fact people are ignoring - although she’ll only do this if she’s feeling particularly mischievous.

She loves to have a good time and when she goes out to have a good time, she makes sure that she does. Usually if she’s at a bar, she’ll pick one guy and as an ego boost to herself (and as it usually turns out, the guy too) she ‘works’ on him all night from a distance. She considers the night a success if by the time she’s ready to go, he’s picked her up. This isn’t the only way she has fun when she goes out, but it is a little game she likes to play with herself.

People often see her as manipulative as she uses her appearance and sensuality, and ability to read people to get what she wants. However, this accusation is a real sore spot for her - she doesn’t see herself like that at all. She feels she’s just using her assets to let her get further in life than she might otherwise. Other people have technical skills or smarts that they can use so she uses what she has as well.

9. Bio-- Glorianna started life in just about as low a position as was possible - as the daughter of two enslaved Twi’leks. Her mother was a dancer in a seedy joint on a desolate planet that was only useful as a rest stop for illegal traders adn slavers. Her father, well she never knew him or anything about him. In fact, she didn’t know either of her parents. When the slaver learned of her mother’s supposed betrayal of him, he let her live long enough to give birth before killing her. Glory could only assume that her father had held the same fate. She wasn’t as lucky though. The slaver kept her, handing her off to one of the other Twi’lek women he owned to care for her. He gave her, her rather incongruous names, not even giving her the dignity of knowing which tribe her family had been a part of when they lived on Ryloth and immediately casting her as a slave, without her own name (even though she’d never had another).

As she grew up, she spent most of her time playing with the children of other slaves, though it seemed she was the only female to survive - later in life she could only assume it was because the slaver knew she would eventually worth a fair bit of money when he eventually sold her and that she made a good status symbol for him. As a result of this, she first learned only to rough house with the young boys and then, as their interests in her changed, to keep them from attacking her in a different way.

Eventually, she managed hide in a shipment of weapons her owner was trading and escape from him. It wasn’t entirely successful however, as the ship was intercepted by rebellion forces. At first, her new captors (although they eventually became her saviours) assumed she was a spy and couldn’t decide whether to kill her or just imprison her for the rest of her life. The disagreement took a very long time resolve and as a result she had time to befriend one of the older men and tell him her story bit by bit. He then told it to the rest of his comrades and eventually they gave her, her freedom. She stayed around the rebel base however, doing odd jobs her and there, trying to create a life for herself. She quickly found that the few women at the base had a deep mistrust for her, as they assumed she used her ‘powers of persuasion’ to earn her freedom. As a result she found herself, doing more and more odd jobs for the pilots that were based there and began to feel more and more comfortable around them. Eventually, one of the fighter pilots whom she was closest with let her have a run in a sim. It was obsession at first flight. Gradually she learned how to operate a fighter with her friend as her mentor. Glorianna had never been happier and her flight skills were increasing rapidly. When the call came out, she signed up quickly, as she saw it as a chance to finally have a real life of her own.
