I saw Les Miserables at least three times before I named my cat Eponine. Unfortunately, I didn't read the book at that time. Had I, I probably would have named her after someone else. Though she's the kin of alley cats, so the name definitely fits.
What characters have you named your pets?

Prouvaire I have three cats: Blanche, Stella, and Stanley. Ha ha ha... A pet theme. That's awesome. My Chinchilla was named Macbeth. He died after becoming blind from sickness and had trouble eating because of his over large top teeth. Looking back, maybe Macbeth wasn't the luckiest name to give him.

We named my fish "Eric" after the Monty Python skit, but I've started to tell people it's from POTO.

We have dog that we found on our doorstep. We call her Janet so that we can yell "Dammit, Janet!" (minus the I Love You part)

Me and my brother named our two puffer fish Jekyll and Hyde. Jekyll used to be called "Puffy" before we got Hyde...We were trying to come up with a name for Hyde, and then we noticed how enjoyed being evil and eating all the other little fishies 0_o...So we figured a good name would be "Hyde"...and of course...You can't have Hyde without Jekyll wink

My cat's name is Elphaba. We just call her Elphie.
It's fitting because she never got a lot of lovin' before she came here, and although she's sweet, she has trust issues and won't come inside the house. Also, when she tries to look sexy, she looks a little like Idina Menzel xd

Not me, but when my old school did Little Shop of Horrors, instead of roses, my friend Ben got a venus flytrap. He named it Audrey III.

They died but I used to have two cats. The male one was Black and I named him Othello and the Female was white and I named her Rosiline from my two fav. Shakespears. I then grew to get the joke I made without knowing.
