Earthquakes shook Earth's surface that day. Most were only mild tremors, but some did substantial damage. Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Sakurajimi both erupted without warning. Electricity failed for no apparent reason in many countries.
In her laboratory, Washuu blinked at her semi-transparent laptop and shook her head. On the floor, Ryo-oki yowled.
In Konoha, many ninja felt their chakra flicker and die, as though they had been using too many ninjustu techniques. Several trees bloomed out of season that afternoon and, when evening came, many swore that they saw the carving of the Fourth Hokage blink.
The Shikon jewel shards shivered, looking as if they were under water. With a sharp pinging sound, they vanished, scattered, undoing all of Naraku's work. Inuyasha jumped as the Tetsusaiga vibrated, and Kagome stumbled on flat ground.

In his sleep, Link shivered and rolled over.
People in the World frowned as the image jumped and fuzzed. Newbies in their first adventures were shocked when the low-level monsters they could fight melted away. They did not have much time to be puzzled; stronger monsters appeared, strong enough that several people who had been in the World since the beginning would have had trouble beating them.
