there is a mention to jesus taking devils out of a man with mental illness,putting them in the unclean pigs and the devils as pigs drowning themselves in jesus's presence.
i have mental illnesses,does that mean i have devils inside?

I have heard of things of that sort, but just because you and a MI (mentel illnes) doesn't mean you are possessed. But, prayer from your Chruch will never hurt.
Whenever we are ill, we are to call on the Elders of our Church for prayer.
So, regardless of the outcome, my advice is to seak prayer. God can heal, even MI.

My son has autism and I work around kids with mental problems. I love being with them.

Jesus took demons out of possesed people. We have no reason to believe that demonic possesion and mental ilness are one and the same. So, no, I highly doubt that you are possesed.

You have to be careful when dealing with who's demon possessed and who's not.
Some mental illness are directly genetic, while some are brought on through generational curses. It is something that you pray over and seek God on. Each case is different.

And this comes to prove my point that there is things under god,like science that contribute to this world!
It is genetics,but your preacher would say demons....
But your not possesed

I define mental illness as sickness of the mind. Sickness is a sin by the fall of man. So...mental illnesses in some cases are from demons.
However mental handicaps are genetics.

So, no, I highly doubt that you are possesed. I agree with Cometh. Its also probably one of those "wrong place at the wrong time". Many types of people were possessed back then and according to historic events, today as well.

i have mental illnesses,does that mean i have devils inside? No, because I don't think the demon-possessed people had mental illnesses. The demons inside them made them act insane.

You have no idea what her mental illness is, it could be a vitamin defencity for all we know. But some things are very spiritual, and i don't go around saying that lightly especially being that my parents tried to label my problems as being "possesed" and ladies tring to cast demons out of me. stare But when i was little, i had a terrible spirit of anxiety. It got to the point of anxiety and almost depression. I didn't know what to do but i knew it was spiritual. One day my mom and i finally prayed on her bed, not even in tongues, and i was healed. I later meet a water dowising person, and i asked him about the event. He said that i had a ghost inside my body, i don't believe in ghost's but i sure do believe in demons. I've been on both sides of the spectrum, and i don't know what i would have done if i didn't get rid of that spirit. It was getting more powerful too! usually i would only feel the anxiety during the night. But then it started occuring during earlier during the day and towards the evening. It was terrible!

Well that depends. Your "illness" is probably minor, right? ADD, dyslexia, maybe Asberger's or something? EVERYONE I KNOW has a mental illness like this. ^__~ Most of them are just.. part of your brain functioning differently or slightly bellow average. But doctors have come up with a name for every one of these little things.
Unless it's something really bad that truly interferes with how you function, I wouldn't worry about demons. And even then, I wouldn't jump to conclusions. There are lots of kinds of mental illnesses, and even if some are caused by demons, some may not be.

okay first off, ive studied psychology for 2 years and you havent really said what your illnesses ARE. and since we've talked so much abotu this, it would be easier to know what symptoms you are feeling. if they're too private to say in public you can pm freely if you like. ill give you the best advice i can, scientifically, psychologically, and spiritually.
by knowing the symptoms your experiencing, this will help pinpoint the possible cause of it or if its actual demon possesion which i highly doubt.

There are lots of kinds of mental illnesses, and even if some are caused by demons, some may not be. actually i have disculcalia,a mathematical form of dyslexia,"aparently" I had ADD as a kid,they arent mild.whats troubling me is the nervous breakdown i had several years ago,the extreme claustrophobia,the OCD and the social phobia.yes this does affect how i function and controls my life in so many cruel ways.i cannot use a lift,plane or go in the back of a car with out windows and doors at the back,nor can i go in an automathic electronic car,which are how cars are made now.i find mixing and making new friends hard.my OCDisms control my life and are a major source of frustration for me and my family.
