I'm having trouble even figuring ourt what Can't Smeg Won't smeg is. Did the crew of RD appear on a real cooking show as guests? Was this an RD special? Was the famous cook really a famous cook, or an actor?
Can't find this anywhere. I;ve been looking for this one, and for the amerian 1992 RD show. (I know- I'm sure it sucks compared to the original, but I want a coplete RD collection.)

I know you can find the American version on Youtube somewhere... not sure about Can't Smeg Won't Smeg. It's possible though, but you might need to search a bit.

evabh This is the bad thing about living in America. We never get to see the good television. I will look on YouTube for teh American version. Aragosnat, did you record Can't Smeg Won't Smeg off the television? I like to thank channel 9. My PBS channel for doing it for me. Is it was a gift for one of the membership if you signed up and donated. As they are the ones who got me hooked on Red Dwarf.

They aired it for Red Dwarfs 10th anniversary (i think sweatdrop ). As i recall none of the crew could make it so they had Dwayne Dibley and some others fill in.
I haven't seen it in years though emo
They also had a university challenge type game where they challenged the actors from RD against members from a RD fan club.
Though it was a little less violent than the young ones spoof. xd
Just thought i'd let you know.

The two teams consisted of Lister and Kryten on one team and (originally) Rimmer and the Cat on the other, but the Cat refused to be on any team with Rimmer, so Dwayne Dibbley replaced him. Kochanski was the taster for the dishes...
If you want to watch it now, you can find it on Disc 2 of the Series 4 DVD.

It never aired on TV here in Australia so the 1st time I saw it was when it came on the Season 4 DVD! It's so funny!!
