How about the other forms of Hayate and Mugen? How do those models compare? o_o
Hayate's worse and incredibly disproportionate what with the main booster placed where it is. Most of the physical detail is based around it's head and boosters with the rest of the zoid being really, really sparse and bland. The booster is WAY too big and placed too high and very possibly too far forwards. The swords that mount on the leg risk falling off due to them being mounted a a leg armour piece that will slide off if you grip it wrong and the thing is a prebuilt lump.
The Mugen is probably the best of the lot but even then it's still not something I'd buy over other zoids. Like the others it comes prebuilt and suffers from the head being too busy, too pointy whilst the rest of it's body is very sparse and bland. Proportions are a bit better than before though the "hump" on it's back looks very weird. The swords this time round are finally made of tough plastic compared to the rubbery kind and are pretty cool. Parts still like to fall off though.
But yeah, all the ligers suffer from being prebuilt in that the parts aren't so much integrated with the base model, they're just slapped on top in a fairly impractical way which means that they like to fall off. Even the Zero CAS armours were better than this. They also suffer from "pacing" in that most of the detail is focused around the head section with the rest of the zoid being incredibly barren and plain. If you're going to be getting one of the Genesis Ligers, I'd have to recommend the Mugen. It's flaws are the least (though the head REALLY is too busy and pointy and makes the rest of the zoid look a bit lame) and it's colours are fairly nice. I'd rather just complete my Command Wolf collection though. Elegant simplicity at it's finest.
