Does anyone prefer too play as Shiek and not as Zelda? Zelda seems prety worthless to me compared to Shiek, then again, her and Young Link are my best characters so I prefer speed

When a Shiek player enters a tournament, there is but one definate truth:
If you forget to hold A in order to turn into shiek when the round starts, you're probably screwed.
Zelda can be fun to play around with, but she is NOT pro-grade material.

Zelda is actually pretty good. You know how sometimes Sheik falls too far from the stage and is about to fall off. Sometimes it can actually be worth that one second it takes to switch to Zelda and use her [up+B] move. That thing is AWESOME.
Also, sometimes that blue diamond thing comes in handy. Other than that though, use Sheik. When your not falling off the stage, you won't really have time to switch to Zelda, and Sheik is just plain BETTER.

sheik is my 3rd main.........if you can even call it a main by then.....what attracted me to sheik was her fair

I think it's on the trophies that it says Zelda has more hard-hitting moves. Can anyone confirm this?

I use Sheik more than Zelda--the girl's too slow for me.

My girlfriend mains Zelda. She's the best Zelda player I know. She took 4th at the ACEN '06 chicago tourney this year. ZELDA. Not Shiek.
And she NEVER uses Shiek mind you.
Just wanted to add my two cents: If you put your mind to it, and learn the moves, learn how your character runs, you can be good with anyone. She rocks my socks with Zelda.
I'm always up for discussion. 3nodding

Granted, a player's skill isn't determined by tier alone. But if your girlfriend for example would've mastered a top tier character as well, wouldn't she (in theory) be a better player? Considering her skill as a player remains the same, only the character improves.

Indeed. I have suggested to her, perhaps finding a perfect balance between the two, but Zelda still remains her best character.
Her secondary is Marth, surprisingly enough.
I do have to say though...
...I main Ganondorf (incase you couldn't tell by my sig. xd )...
...When I see her mix it up with Shiek...
...I scream like a little girl...
I'm not entirlely sure why she doesn't like Shiek. It's all a matter of prefrence too.
Example: I love Ganondorf, and he's my main. But I can't use Capt. Falcon for @#$%. He's too slippery. Like a loose cannon.
I should try getting some video's of her playing. Bring a camera along for next year's ACEN. THough I hope to be up there with her next year too. ^_^
