Lynch was the dudeman that made that film right?
Well, it was okay..nothing like the book though. They should have made it more epic.
(And also: Sting? WTF?)

Even though Lynch's film wasn't very true to Dune I did however like the design of the costumes, expecally the still suits. I hated the pimply flying fat man. I really disliked how they made it rain in the end considering that it would ruin Dune's ecology.

I haven't seen this one since I was a kid so I don't remember it very well. I do remember that it was confusing becuase I had just read the books. I thought I must have misread everything, but I do kind of see where some of the things he got came from, just tweaked to make origonal now that I've read the book so many times.
I did like that Muad'Dib became much more godly in the end of that movie then in the book. Well, I didn't like it in the way that I'd suggest it be changed or anything unsanitary like that. I just liked it in the way that it was an interesting twist.
I did not like the graphics and the Sardaukar outfits at all. Or, I suppose it would be the Harkonnen outfits wouldn't it be?

Considering it was 1984, I think they did a nice job with special effects.

I disagree. Their shields problem wasn't the technology, it was the idea behind it that pissed me off. And some other things along those lines.

Well I think one of the major down falls of the film was the down play of Paul's and Feyd's hatered towards one another. It was never explained in the film

I remember laughing at the funny shield effect. Oh! You which bit rocked in that film? The bit where Patrick Stewart fought his way out of the attack clutching a dog under his arm! The bravado! *swoon* *ahem* rofl xd

You aren't. They made the Baron out to be much grosser and evil..er(?) then in the books. In the books he was cruel, but sort of a passive cruel to anyone who got in his way. In that one he was just outright cruel and slayed people for no reason at all. He was said to conserve people that are useful in teh book, he pulled peoples plugs just for the sake of doing it.
Really, his character wasn't very true to the books in my opinion.

Ichigosama Even David said for the new movie they don't want something like that ugly pimply flying fat man to happen again. I absolutely loved the casting for the miniseries. I hope they take their time with it and let it be a hella long movie. Even the miniseries cut stuff out.
