The newest book in the series and it is part one of the grand fanialy. I know it has been out for over a week now and like a true fan was dissapointed that I didn't get it the first day. I waited till the following Sunday after it came out because Brian and Kevin were having a signing and Q&A near my town. They gave out some really good info about what projects they were going to be doing after Dune had officialy ended. Even though Dune Hunters and Sandworms of Dune (originaly one book but cut into two for leangh) are the ending of the series they have plans to go back and make a novel that come inbetween Fank's original Dune books that tell the tale of Paul's conquest of the known Universe. As many of you already know they also have plans to make another prequil trilogy, Paul of Dune, Jessica of Dune and I forget the 3rd title. Tales of Paul's childhood, The early years of Leto and Jessica and their first meeting. They are also planning a second trillogy that will talk about the origions of the Bene Gesserit School, the Spacing Guild and Orange Catholic Bible.

Now that sounds lovely. I'd love to pick up one myself, signed and everything. But the Godon is 1) Too lazy and 2) Lives where nobody goes.
I will have to see about purchasing this book anyway though. A signed copy would bring the Godon much joy, but, I'll settle for something less tactile like a .pdf.

Hehe I know what you mean. No one comes here either. This was a first. I was over joyed to meet them. They were really friendly and funny.

I think the Orange Catholic Bible has already been explained.. I think it told me in one of the prequel books.

Well they said that they want to do all the events that lead up to the creation of said things. So it will just tack on new info.

Well after the next 2 trillogies and the book about Paul's conquest they said that is the end. They know they can make alot more because of all the time gaps but to quote Kevin, "I won't says never but....". I think they want Dune to go out on top instead of it dieing off.

Well Dune Hunters and Sandworms are baised off of tons of notes by Frank that were found in a saftey deposit box. Alot of Brian and Kevin's work comes from tons of old notes left by Frank that Brian found in the attic.

I've heard there will be 2 new books. only know the info on one. which talks about what happens after Chapterhouse Dune. When the Fremen are taking control of rakis once again under control of the Duncan Ghola.

Dune Hunters and Sandworms of Dune take place ofter Chapterhouse. Frank Herbert had plotted out 7 books in all for Dune. Hunters and Sandworms are part of Dune 7 the final book in the seriese but were split into 2 books because it was so long. Frank Herbert outlined everything for the last book and wrote everything that should happen and go into it (mind you they are notes. Alot of them.) Brian and Kevin followed the notes his father left behind and wrote the book according to what his father wanted. But don't get me wrong Brian and Kevin did write the book in all so their writing style is in it not just Frank's.
