This is an rp dedicated to the Feudal Japan during the Revolution, before the Meiji government took over. There is the Shinsengumi fighting to keep Japan within itself as it were and a hermit country, while the Meiji officials and their 'minions' fight to bring about this 'great' change. You can choose either side but you must fill out a profile. The war will not continue until the 20th of August. I hope to see people join. We are still accepting applications for this rp if anyone is interested still. We would love to have more people rping in this...just remember that you are human...and aren't some super human thing. Hope to see more members ^.^

It seems that the man named Kashi has been betrayed by his government, who, after winning the war, called him back and captured him. They plan to kill him, and get rid of his existence. Sakura/Chaos is on the case, Yumi is training to make herself a better swordsperson, and team Halo is ignorant of their side's defeat for now. What will occur next

Style of Fighting: (Just what it says...and remember Feudal Japan...you're not going to be proficient in guns and weaponry unless you're a musketeer...but then again there were very few in this time period and they sucked with a gun so yeh o.o Find a style of fighting or you can put a made up style or raw style which is the char's own technique, but you must put down what it consists of. The elements that make their style...good I suppose...and please don't try to make it uber powerful alright? thanks)

Special Abilitiy(es): (This is important!!! No god-like powers sort of stuff or things out of a sci-fi novel. This is Feudal Japan and everyone is human! The Ability must be realistic...such as a normal foot soldier cannot have ultimate sword technique that can't be beaten sort of thing. And neither could a great bushido, everyone can die even the heros alright? Think speed, power, agility, blade control those kind of things, and I'm only allowing TWO Abilities unless you're a special case and then pm me for your ideas on that thanks.)

Rules!!!
1. First and formost Obey the rules of Gaia as should always be true, and as such cybering is and will be kept to pms.
2. Be active and have fun. It's what this rp is about
3. You're not a god and you can and may die. If you die then you can always make a new charrie or the charrie's twin(exactlyliketheotherexceptinnamebecauseyou'retoolazytomakeanewone) sibling, friend, or swordmate(partner in sparring and such) who is now out for revenge.
4. If you must kill, kill NPC's. Charries can only be killed through a sanctioned battle by both players. I don't want someone just suddenly deciding to kill another, but if you do get into a fight then fight!!! In other words if you provoke a fight or make someone want to beat you up then that's your consent...otherwise you both need to agree in OOC here.
5. When fighting be descriptive, the more description the better the fight will be for all.
6. Respect other players at all times and remember even if you are talking with your opponent most people in this time period followed the bushido code and so treated everyone with respect even if they were an enemy.
7. Be your character and let your character grow so you may be able to use them later. Don't just throw in a charrie to have a charrie. This is a serious rp and a charrie can always be altered with the weapons they have and things of that matter.

Age: 15

Side:Meiji

Style of Fighting: His style is a raw style using both blades on his side. One blade of a normal length of 3 shaku(about 3 feet) and the other of short length, 2 shaku. He used the long blade to defend most of the time and the short to attack but sometimes mixes this attack process up to confuse his enemies. His use of agility greatly contributes to how he moves and hits.

Special Abilitiy(es): Incredible Agility and Speed gotten through training for 12 years and rarely halting for even sleep. He can move and leave an afterimage for 5 seconds because of his speed and can do amazing feets of jumping and movement because of his agility.

Appearance: He wears a dark blue yukata with white bottoms. He has wraps on his hands and feet with gloves over his hands and most of his forearms. He wears wooden sandals and moves with little sound from them but still sound none the less. His eyes are deep and gray, but change when he is in the 'mood' of destroying or killing his target. He stands at about 5'8" and is very thin at about 120 lbs.

Personality: Silent and doesn't speak much. He has a deep past that he doesn't share with others. He finds himself fighting for no reason other than he was recruited as a Hitokiri(assasain). He only wishes to help with his blade and stop what he feels is 'evil.'

Description: He is a very pure and honest man. He doesn't understand love or the idea of neutrality. He feels there is evil and good and nothing else. He fights for his master and is fully dedicated and always lives by the bushido code(code of the samurai). He hates a person who abuses other people just because they can or are stronger than them. He fights to help the common person in the hopes that equality will come about from this revolution.
History: He has no family or much of a past. He lived with his family and then they were killed. He was taken and then his master found him and took him to train him. Chaos learned how to fight from this man Miyamoto Musashi. Chaos never knew how famous he was and when he was trained by him he was very old but he could still beat Chaos with ease. Chaos trained and learned to master his masters' technique by the age of 8 having been in his masters' care for 3 years. He fought hard and learned how to make his body do impossible things. Musashi gave him the name Chaos because of how chaotic his movements were. He seemed almost insane to do most of the things he did and so Musashi named him for this chaotic behavior. When Chaos finally beat Musashi in their final battle Musashi was happy and embraced him and patted his back telling him his training was complete with him and now he could only teach himself to become better and more powerful. Chaos stayed one more day with Musashi and then left on his own to travel and become more powerful and invincible under the sun and invenerable under the moon. He travelled and then was training at a center when he sliced a very thick log with a single stroke and the man watching hired him to join the Meiji and help change Japan. Chaos agreed and went with the man to 'change' Japan. Ever since he has been fighting in the shadows. The men around him know he fights for the Meiji but something about him scares them to death. Only a few know he is the sacred Hitokiri that caused so much commotion in the Shensengumi and even in the Meiji fighters. There were rumors that he was a demon that couldn't be stopped. Few know he is only a child in this revolution of men.

Name: Nakashima Yumi

Age: 24

Side: Shinsengumi

Style of fighting: Yumi has developed a very complex and difficult technique using two katanas. Since she is very agile she can get into very strange positions then attacking the opponent from these positions, this means it'll be hard for the opponent to counter because she's attacking from an very unusual angle.

Special abilities: After a lot of training Yumi is able to bend and twist herself into strange angles. She is also extremely quiet because she's so light. She maybe doesn't have the same speed and strenght as a man, but in stead, she's become very good at seeing the weak points on things/people. Also because she looses when it comes to speed and strenght she's trained on getting her footwork perfect, now she has very sensitive feet which makes it possible for her to for example jump up on extremely thin poles.

Appearance: Mostly wears mens clothing because she usually has to hide that she in fact is a woman. She has long black hair and greyish green eyes. She is also very thin and tall (if you compare her to other women).
Personality: A lone wolf, mostly because she all the time has to hide the fact that she's a woman. But when she doesn't have to hide the fact anymore, she is a very friendly and calm person. However she never really trusts anyone.

Description: The fact that she nearly always has to hide her true identity has makes it nearly impossible for Yumi to do much. Tryin to look as little as possible like a woman has becoma a strange obsession of hers. She absolutely hates washing off blood stains from her clothes, in fact, she tries to avoid blood as much as possible, still this doesn't stop her from killing. Her hatred towards blood has developed the habit that she always burns the clothes that have blood stains on them.

Already as a small child her parents had started dressing her like a boy to protect her. At an young age she started training kendo, but as she grew older, she realized kendo was only stopping her from getting better. Soon after realizing this she started learning more about other fighting styles and doing more physical training. A few years after this she fought against an older boy, the boy managed to breake her katana. the event made her ponder how she could avoid something like this in the future and the idea of using two swords in stead of just one came. Some more years passed by before she had mastered the ability of using two swrods, which turned out to be very hard because of the lenght of the katanas.

History: Yumi has really never cared about which side she supports in the war. The only thing she does care about is to make the war stop and the only way she can see an ending to it is by destroying either the Shinsengumi or the Meiji. Since Yumi had lived a perfectly good life before the revolution and was scared that the change would mean she could never go back to her old carefree lifestyle, she decided to fight on the Shinsengumis side. Another reason was also the fact that the Shinsengumi pays her a lot, which of course, is a very important fact.

Name: Kimiko Miu
Age: 18-20
Side: Neutral (shinsengumi)
Style of fighting: Specializes in long range fighting, she uses several different smaller throwing weapons (mainly needles, kunais and shurikens of different sizes). The needles are her most dangerous weapons, even though they’re small and not very strong. Because of her extremely good accuracy she can hit vital points on her opponents body, this along with a very good knowledge of human anatomy, makes it possible for her to in worst case permanently paralyze the target. The other advantage the needles have is that they’re surprisingly hard to notice, because of their size.
Special abilities: Miu knows a lot about different poisons and potions because of her background. She is a very good healer with a lot of knowledge about the human body.
Appearance: Long blonde hair, bright blue eyes and light skin. She usually hides her unusual hair and eye color under a huge straw hat. Clothing wise she usually wears a tight fitting top and some loose pants. Around her waist she has a belt with several pouches filled with potions and weapons. Needles she has hidden everywhere on her body, even in her hair and hat.
Description: Miu is a very friendly and cheerful person. She loves helping other people in every possible way. Even though she loves having fun and usually doesn’t take anything too seriously, she can instantly change into a very dignified lady. At first glance Miu can seem rather unreliable, since she doesn’t do much more than fool around and laugh, but she also has a darker side to herself. This side often comes out if someone she cares for much is being threathened or she herself feels threathened.
History: The Kimiko family has a long history of being talented healers. From a very young age Miu has been thaught everything about all kinds of different diseases, cures and poisons. She has also been thaught how to take care of the customers who come to visit the Kimiko family. At the family estate, situated in a green valley they run a spa and at the same time a small luxurious hospital for those with a bit more money in their pockets than usual.
The History of team Halo: One day, when Miu was returning home from a very exhausting house call, where she had been forced to stay awake for more than two days and look after her patient, she had spotted a man falling down next to a tree. When she had rushed over she had noticed the man was unconscious. Well, this was at least what she thought, because she wasn’t exactly in her best condition she had made a small mistake, the man had actually only fallen asleep beneath that tree. Miu, had even managed to force the man to drink one of her revitalizing potions, which had some dreadful consequences. The man ended up puking through the whole night and had to stay at the Kimiko estate for a week to recover.
Incredably embarrassed of her horrible mistake Miu took especially good care of the man during the week and got to know him very well. This was the beginning of their long friendship, since at the end of the week Miu decided to leave her family and follow the man.
After the first mission, Miu decided to help him in the next one, then she just continued following him. In the end they both noticed how useful they found each other and the team Halo had been formed.
After nearly alone helping the Shinsengumi win a huge fight close to Kyoto the couple got a nearly legendary status. With the help of Miu’s medical skills, she managed to keep enough men alive to win the fight, while the man kept Miu alive by killing every man who came even close. When the battle was finally over, the dead bodies had formed a prefect half circle around the man while the half dead Shinsengumi members Miu had been taking care of had formed another perfect half circle. The Shinsengumi commanders with a back-up army who had arrived way too late to the battle field had found the two exhausted fighters in the middle of a halo of dead or nearly dead warriors.

Name: Yoshikuni, Kazuma

Age: 25

Side: Shinsengumi

Style of Fighting: Kazuma's main form of attack and defense is iaijutsu: The art of killing on the draw. The reasons are not just limited to the fact that his master mostly taught just iaijutsu, but that his philosophy is that a quick end to a fight is the most efficient one. His iaijutsu is, at the very least, quite good.

Special Abilities: Kazuma has excellent control over his sword, which is to be expected from someone who employs iaijutsu as their main attack form. His speed, at least in his arms, is above average, once again, complimenting his iaijutsu. His speed is from the hours a week he would spend, weights on his arms as he practiced form. His Blade control is the result of his training, though this is less extraordinary, and more as a by-product of his iaijutsu training.

Appearance: Kazuma stands at about 5'10, which is above average, or at least he likes to think so. His hair is Dark Black, long and loose, and tied off in the back. His eyes are a nice jade green color. He wears a Light Green Yakuta, which compliment his eyes, or at least he thinks so. His sword hangs on his left side, because of his right hand being his drawing hand. The Handle is wrapped in a white cloth, and the sheath has a design of Sakura flowers running down the length of it. He wears light wooden sandals. He's rather fair-skinned, though his hands bear the callouses of gripping the handle of a sword all day long.

Personality: Kazuma is, in a word, rather easy going. Well, that's three words, but whatever. His Lazy attitude tends to throw other people off guard as to his skills, and he's rebutted many a young, eager swordsman in his day. Still, when it comes down to it, Kazuma is nothing but serious at any task at hand. Nor does he lack responsibility in any situation when he is asked to lend a hand, or when he owes someone something.

Description: Being that Kazuma is..to put it nicely, easy going, he likes to sleep. A lot. In fact, it's not odd at all to see him passed out under a tree on the side of the road. He was born in Edo, and since there weren't any trees inside town, if he wasn't going to be home for a little bit, he had more than once just fallen asleep in a back alley. Despite him falling asleep all the time, he lived in a fairly prosperous home. Each member of his family each had their own beds to sleep in, and were always rather well fed.

History: Kazuma was born in Edo, and born into a rather wealthy family. Not really wealthy, you know, but better than average. Despite the wealthyness of his family, both of his parents were very strict and traditional japanese parents. Being raised as such is part of why he joined the Shinsengumi. He adored the morals and values instilled in his people by the older generations and thought they were the proper way, and that Japan should continue with these values, like they had for years. Plus, the Shinsengumi seemed to be a much nicer side to join, in his opinion.

Side: Neutral, sways towards whichever side is beneficial towards her.

Style of Fighting: Naginatajutsu; skills in Battle Staff/Halberd.

Special Abilities: Is very cunning, manipulative, sneaky (physically), and agile when startled. Otherwise, she plays 'Clutzy' when undercover and to fool her enemies.

Appearance: Her dark hair is offset by her unusual gray-green eyes and light skin. She wears a kimono that is worn and patched at some spots, but you can tell that it was once a slighty exspensive kimono... However, she owns an armor & battle clothing set that she found in an enemy camp.

Personality: Strongwilled, quiet, and thoughtful. Although she shows respect, she can have quite a streak of rebellion in her. She is not a person to anger; to her, revenge is justice. Inwardly, she quite insecure, yet it is rare to see this within her unless you know her very well.

Description: Her family has fleed the land, but once upon a time her mother was a patchwork seamstress (Very low quality, not like an expensive kimono maker or anything), and her father owned a fair amount of land, fields used for farming. They were well enough off that she and her twin brother each taught to reading, writing, and basic math skills.

History: When the country became restless with the need for war, her family made plans to flee. When battle broke out early in Yuka's home town, chaos forced her family to move quickly. She was accidently left behind when she was lost in a crowd of people struggling to escape the war-torn city. She began fighting, posing as her brother, in order to conceal her identitiy. From there, she soon discovered an unnatural ability to wield the halberd, the bladed battle staff. Since then, her identity has been discovered, but her name still strikes fear into those who previously labeled her as a helpless daughter of a seamstress.
