I just saw this musical, and it was fantastic, especially since it was about a spelling bee of all things. They make sure to update things to fit the are they're playing in; all the schools the kids "came from" were real schools in my city, and they used audience members as one of the contestants. One lady spelled a moderately hard word that was obviously supposed to get her off the stage, so they called her back up and gave her a REALLY hard one that got her off. It was really funny. And Olive's "Mama" song made me cry so hard.
So, to discuss: arrow Above-mentioned musical: Have you seen/heard of it? arrow Spelling bees/anything related

When I saw it, they embarassed one of the audience members so bad that she purposefully spelled "cow" wrong just to sit down. I also got crazy-good seats on the gym floor, so Logainne, Chip, and Olive ran by me about 6 times. There was also this really good speller that spelled a word correctly even though it has only been written down a couple of times in the 1800s. I'm still angry that I didn't get any snacks, though...

I've seen Bee four times-- one of those times was the Adult Bee. That (the aldut one) was probably the funniest thing I've seen in my entire life... And I'm not exaggerating. I love that show.

I had to fall out of my seat to get a card because everyone was getting them really quick. I got "brummagem." I REALLY want to go see it again before it closes in SF, but classes start tomorrow, and I have no money. Besides, I get to see Chicago *finally* next friday. Even though Usher is playing Billy Flynn on Broadway now. And Ashlee Simpson might take over for Roxie Hart. I basically want to die thinking about that.

I listened to the soundtrack...
My favorite song is and always will be M.U.E.
The funniest song I've ever heard.
I see Putnam in a couple months, but I see RENT in September.
