Once again, a somewhat humorous drabble involving Hiei. Because he just gets ticked off so easily.

Dragon Dancer

The lone silver blade gleamed gold in the morning sunlight; then, it flashed with blinding white reflections and was brought down in one smooth stroke. With a lithe twist, the sword spun in the opposite direction, decapitating an invisible enemy.

Hiei took a step forward and thrust his sword through where a opponent’s stomach would be, and drew it back deftly, flicking it as if to dispose of imaginary blood.

On the roof of Genkai’s temple, Hiei began to increase the speed of his swordplay, becoming a mere black blur against the cloudless cerulean sky. His steps, though muffled by the thick soles of his boots, steadily loudened in quick little patters.

If Hiei’s movements were seeable, one would have noticed him moving in a graceful, almost refined, but elegant to the point where it was deadly. His swordplay was precise, like he was weaving a dangerous dance of his own on the roof. A single slip would mean a fall to the ground, and that would have humiliating results, considering his teammates were eating breakfast in the room below.

A swish, and then the fire demon discarded his black cloak, the soft cloth fluttering to the sandy ground. Beads of perspiration started to line his skin, soaking the white strip that circled his forehead.

Adding hand-to-hand combat to his maneuvers, Hiei performed a swift kick—clumsy, he berated himself angrily, but to any human the same attack would look perfect in its execution.

“Hey, Hiei, are you done dancing on the roof?”

With a slight snarl, Hiei launched himself off the temple’s roof. Yusuke had barely enough time to evade the blow, catching the tip of the blade with his fingers only an inch or two before it connected with his throat. The mazoku grinned, then dropped the sword to the ground while Hiei scowled.

Then—“I wasn’t dancing.”

AWESOME!!! I have a character in Yu Yu Hakusho (not literally) and she probably would have made fun of him and poked his nose. sweatdrop She REAAAAALLY likes poking his nose for some reason. xd
