wow...its so hard...eversince my brother brought it up about me going to a art high school instead of a normal high school...I've been thinking about it all day...
I'm tied between DBHS [Diamond Bar High School...not your DBHS zanana XD] and OCHSA [Orange county high school of arts]
okay here is the good things about each school so far
DBHS-apparently has the best AP Calculus [or is it just calc...WHATS THE DIFFERENCE??] class in the nation, my friends are there, marching band is there--marching band, band, experiences, I could lose...
OCHSA-new experiences, new friends [it can enhance my social skills, and I'm around a different atmosphere of students?], a rather good program [or so the site says], many many new experiences in music, better focus in music, just pretty much new experiences that also could be lost
reasons to go to DBHS:
I love my friends to death, I love them so much, they are smart, wacky, funny, hyper, crazy, lovable, stubborn, serious, oh mozart! they are the most colorful people in the world.
Then high school band, its full of fun, hard work dedication, just an absolutely wonderful experience that would be terrible to lose...you just can't get back those experiences.
OCHSA reasons to go:
I will get new experiences, TONS, I will be able to meet new people, find even more competition, find the different types of people that I will have to deal with in the world of music, more experiences in different types of academic classes, a more focused time on the arts, more opportunities...I mean, it'll help me with what I want to do in my life, really, it will.
I truly don't know what to do please give an answer that benefits me, its selfish sounding but thanks.

then stuart, he's the one that scares me most about this, will he shoot me down like he did about the PSYO? will he for once not think about me not being ready and think about the benefits? I'm really scared if he'll think I'm stupid or something or just think differently of me for some weird reason
Plus, he has so much confidence in me about high school, he had told me once, "if you keep going like this you'll be in the wind symphony in diamond bar high" and that really motivated me...because i like the wind symphony very much...would i crush him so?:/ I never wanted to disappoint him [so i disapointed him while site reading the toher day bah!] because he has so much confidence in me--its a bit vain but its oddly true--I don't want to lose that confidence that he has for my future, because some people kinda waver about me like my parents, they aren't too happy with what I want to do. But my teacher has been supporting me more then many people, so I'm just too scared to lose it somehow...
I stayed up till 3 am thinking about this, the wind symphony is a opportunity I could lose, and I really like DBHS...but I really like what I've read so far about OCHSA too... gonk Both have experiences that could be lost.
I love DBHS's music program but even so...I think this program is good too [well I'm going to the preview session with my parents later in the year]
is this a bad idea to take the risk to be great?
please please give me your opinions on this

Well, my first question is, does the Orange school have a Marching Band? Probably not because you specifically mentioned it in the DBHS and not Orange. Just try and sort out your prioities first, make a list of career and organization options that you'd like to get into and see which school would benifit it most. Also make a pro/con list for each of them, like a really long and detailed one. And don't make this decision over night, take all the time you can, and ask friends about it.
Though, if it was me, I'd go to the one with the better Marching Band. xP

Well i'm just going to concentrate on a couple points. Since orange county is a school for the arts, I would assume there band would be better, except for the no marching thing. Also I would assume Orange county would give you more carrer oppurtunites if you are going to pursue music. ALso I don't think stuart would be disappointed in you for going to an art school since are schools are generally better, not academic wise but finearts wise. SO really you have to decide whater you want to be a carrer clarinetist, or if you want to do something other then music.

@_@ I do want to go to both...err ochsa a bit more...but the biggest thing holding me back is the fact that its a little too far ><;;

I agree I can't blame her for that, yet zan only has a one tracked mind, I'm not saying that is bad or nything, yet there is more to school then the band, theres academics and social structure, Thers a whle lot tht one must consider and I just don';t hink zan made that clear and after reading your post I'm not usre if you really understand all that is involved either.

anyways...
so far:
all my friends support me on going
my conductor said, "YEAH!! biggrin i think that'd be a good idea"
my mom is sorta :/ sometimes yes, sometimes no
so, thats about 70 % chance of going... eek
all that really does matter now is...my teacher's opinion...::shivers::
