Taloned feet tred lightly, her solitary feather fluttered from the movement. Golden eyes stared tentatively at the gateway that leads out of Hameln. Tanned fingers ran through hair, her skin a sharp contrast to her fair, blonde locks. Her lips are dry but not cracked, her throat was tight and found difficulty in swallowing.
A step forward, two steps backward, and a pause.
Flerida shook her head, took a deep breath and promptly turned her back to the path. She was not ready to venture beyond Hameln, she was too afraid, too worried, too unsure of herself and of what may await beyond the familiar.
She felt like an utter failure, a coward, a weakling and she knows not what she can do about it. Her thoughts then entered murky territory, notions that she buried and tried her best to ignore. Questions of who she was, who she is, and why -despite being like the other children- she felt completely alienated?
"Urgh." She grunted, eyes squinting shut as her hands rose to block her ears. Ignorant of her surroundings, she allowed her feet to take the lead. Led by nothing more than her talon's fancy, awkward, wobbly motions, she found herself bumping into someone.

Ravji was incredibly graceful, with his dancer's form, and easily minimized the impact, hands skimming over Flerida to steady her even as he took a step back, smiling just enough for the corners of his lips to curve.
"I should hope this is not how you regularly explore the world, Miss."
With blind eyes and deaf ears? She was missing everything around her! They were standing just off of a path in the forest, where Ji had been meditating, a drum and wooden flute gently resting on the grass.
Now he folded both arms across her chest, and raised his eyebrows.
"It must be more than your unique feet that led you to me, Miss. What am I to help you find?"
A low chuckle, and his top left hand extended, for a handshake.
"Forgive me, I get ahead of myself. I am called Ravji, in this life."

The young Fable let out a soft cry of surprise as her cheeks crimsoned in embarrassment. Her eyes set downcast, she mumbles in response. "N-no, just now." she stammers, hands voluntarily pinned to her side.
"Find?" she echoes, risking to glance at the older person whom she had bumped into. "I wasn't looking for anything, just, maybe trying to get back."
She stares dumbly at the proffered limb for a moment before hesitantly reaching out with her own hand to accept. Her grip is soft, nervous, as if touching Ravji would burn her. Quickly she draws her hand back to her side, "I'm Flerida, and some people call me Riddy, but there aren't many of them who do, though."
She doesn't understand what the significance of nicknames are, was Flerida too long and complicated that it needed to be shortened?

His own grip was firm, yet gentle, protecting her hand, rather than crushing it, and he lifted their connected limbs to press a soft kiss to hers, before letting go, and chuckling, low in his throat.
"Flerida is a beautiful name. However, if I am to call you Riddy, you may refer to me as Ji, if you so desire."
Another amused pause, and he addressed her earlier comments, brow raised.
"Oh, you were indeed looking for something. Trying to get back? Back to what is the question, mmmmn."

Flerida did not think it was possible for her to crimson any darker, but the heat rose from her cheeks and reached her ears. Compliments, praises, they were so foreign to her, it was not to say that she was insulted and verbally abused at home. She was just unaccustomed to hearing these things from someone she had just met.
"A-alright, thank you, Ji." She replied, half-mumbling. "I was trying to get back to the village, what areyou doing out here?" she asks in an attempt to change the topic. She disliked talking about herself, it made her feel vain and undeserving of attention.

Chuckling to himself, he watched her quietly, silver eyes flashing with amusement, as he took his time to answer her almost defensive question. His upper arms shifted to fold across his chest once more, and his lower ones moved as a palm was placed on each hip.
"Are you sure it was the village you were heading for? Perhaps you were meant to find me, mmmn, the energies of this land work in strange ways, you know."
Reaching out, he gently placed an arm on the small of her back, steering her into the clearing he'd been occupying, his musical isntruments casually resting in a small group of flowers amongst the grass.
"I was aligning my chakras. Meditating. Communing with nature...? You are familiar with such things, yes?"

Flerida's talons unconsciously dug at the soft soil beneath her, grateful that she stood on fresh earth and would have to endure the embarrasment of the sound of her claws scraping against something. It was a nervous twitch, much like her tendency to avoid eye contact.
"Oh but I-" her words were cut short as Ravji led her to the clearing he had been in moments earlier. She hadn't been here before, the terrain was unfamiliar, for Flerida rarely (if ever) ventured too far from the security of her home.
"Chakras?" A tilt of the head and a furrow of her brows, "I fear I am not familiar with that term, but communing with nature is something I do enjoy." She adds, golden eyes briefly locking with Ravji's silver orbs. A surge of heat, and Riddy looks away, the crimson once again returning to her cheeks.
She oddly wished it was Medeine or Tasius she was with, not that Ravji was horrible company (she hadn't been with him long enough to decide). But the older boy made her feel so awkward and clumsy, she doesn't understand why exactly. Perhaps there was an unusual grace to his movements? Or perhaps he had a sort of charm she had never before encountered? Whatever it was, Flerida was felt herself grow uncomfortable.

Fluidly shifting, he took a seat on the grass, legs folding, his lower arms palm up on his knees, upper arms raised toward the sky as he grinned at Flerida, inviting her to join him.
"Come, Miss Riddy. We sit, you will connect, and we shall... Dance. Yes?"
A chuckle, and he closed his eyes, head tilting back somewhat. Although he couldn't see, he was highly aware of the entire clearing. In tune, perhaps.

The avian Fable padded quietly beside Ravji, folding her skirt beneath her as she sat down on her knees. She took a deep breath, allowing her senses to connect with her surroundings just as Ravji suggested. But her concentration breaks and her eyes widen in a mixture of horror and alarm.
Dance? Dance?
What was he trying to prove by that suggestion? Did someone put him up to this to try and make a fool of her? She was no graceful swan, a chicken with its head cut off perhaps. She squirmed in her place, and chewed on her lower lip as she tries to formulate the best refusal she can manage without offending Ravji.
"I-if it's alright, may we leave out the dancing part?" she mutters. "I don't want to seem rude, but I'm not exactly built for dancing with someone."
Flerida danced, oh she did, she had admitted as much to Medeine. But she danced alone, without anyone around to see her awkward gait and clumsy steps. That and her talons can hurt if she ended up stepping on someone's foot.

"Dear Lady..."
His voice was soft, smooth, like warm honey, or silver velvet, and he didn't even open his eyes, one upraised hand moving to touch her cheek before returning to it's original position.
"... You simply have yet to find your center. It is not easy, for those who have... Unique parts, as we do, but the result is all the more spectacular. Never fear to show me those parts of you, for I wish to see it all, Flerida."
He was a strange, peaceful boy, and now reached back with a hand to untie long, purple hair, letting the strands slip down bare shoulders as he breathed in deeply, the tattoo on his chest starting to glow slightly with a silver tinge.

Flerida opened her mouth to speak, to once again refuse as she would normally, but her voice caught in her throat. Her skin prickled from a strange heat that coursed through her body, and she took a deep breath.
"A-alright, how do we start?" She asks, hands rested neatly on her lap. Her golden eyes widened slightly in curiosity at the glowing tattoo on Ravji's chest, what did that mean?

"To connect to the earth through movement, we must first do so without."
An almost cryptic statement, but the follow-through was rather simple. One of his hands reached down, index finger pressing on the grass beneath him as his silver gaze flashed at her.
"Flerida... The connection is different for each of us. I... I am of the dancing flame... The heat within one's blood. Passion. But you... You taste of warmth and trust, of stone and earth. I cannot help you to dance... You must do that."
A low, low laugh, more a warm noise than a chuckle, and he closed his eyes again, hand returning to his lap.
"Relax, trust your soul. Breathe, and just b. You will know when you are one with our surroundings. It... Is beautiful. The world looks new. Reborn."

A tilt of the head, a furrow of her brows, Flerida was still no closer to understanding how she would dance. She had hoped Ravji would show her how to move, give her a rhythm of sorts or at the very least bestow some vague concept for her to grasp.
Instead he merely told her to trust herself, her soul. But how could she? She knew very well her limitations, how awkward gait and clumsy steps. Avian in nature should she not then be of sky and flight rather than of stone and earth? She felt foolish for believing that he could help her, and angry at herself for thinking he would understand when he so clearly didn't.
She'll prove to him just how wrong he was!
She stood, her resolve firm, her posture straight, but to hide her intentions she had to close her eyes. She breathed in, breathed out, and breathed in again, and imagined herself to possess wings, true wings and not the make-shift sort that the hems of her sleeves attempted to look like. With these wings -though mere figments of her imagination- she raised arms high above her head and began to move.
Flerida's first few steps were tentative, while her talons dug into the soft earth to achieve a feel of the surface. She turned her face upwards towards the canopy of trees, eyes still closed. Drawing in a soft breath, her arms lowered to her sides.
Minutes of these slow and quiet motions passed, until finally, something stirred inside her. Her eyes flew open in mild alarm, and she soon found herself unable to stop. Her body swayed, taloned feet nimbly shifted her weight, arms reached out to her solitary audience. How long she danced, how long she allowed the surge to last Flerida didn't know.
But as quickly as it came, it fled her body and left her drained and exhausted. She stumbled forward, and realized that it was not the ground coming to greet her but the other way around.

And Ravji was there, gently catching her with four strong arms, his face warm with appreciation, gaze heated mercury. He held the girl, as his eyes slid shut, and the tall boy let out a slow breath, two hands rubbing her back. She was tired. They were always tired after the first time truely dancing.
"It was beautiful.. It was like... Like flight. Your story... Loneliness, the desire for freedom, understanding... You were beautiful.
[By the way, if you want to use her power on Ji, it's okay. It wouldn't go very far, because of things that'd be explained. He'd be alright after a minute. xD]

Flerida lay limply in Ravji's arms, her chest heaving in her struggle to regain her breath. Her cheeks were hot, but it was not from the exhaustion but from being so close to Ravji.
The taller Fable's words reached her ears and she raised her face to look at him. She searched his face, his eyes, for signs of mockery, of hints that he was just being nice to her.
But she could find none.
He... He really means it? She realized in disbelief.
Had she, truly danced the way he said she did? Her lower lip began to tremble as tears welled up in her eyes.
"I- I was?" she sobbed. She wiped at the twin streams with the hem of her sleeve in embarrassment and suddenly found her arm had grown extremely heavy. Eyes blurred, she blinked away the tears that trickled down her cheek and landed on Ravji's arm.
Golden eyes stared in shock at what had been her sleeve. "Ravji?" she gasped in alarm, her body shaking at the sight of the taller Fable's arm. The location where her tears had dropped was turned to stone!
