Hey peeps I'm not sure if this thread has already been made if so I'm sorry...I was just wondering what everyone thought about the movie Drumline.
I myself didn't really like it. It did a terrible job of portraying how a *real* Marching Band Competition is...tell me what you guys thought of it. 3nodding

Yeah this is true, so was I no matter how badly portrayed... sweatdrop I was really excited when it first came out, I was like "Finally a movie about something worth seeing!" unlike all those football and cheerleading movies xp scream I hate both xp

i liked drumline even though it was mostly about...drumline. my bd in middle school went to a show band college, TSU, so he told a lot of those stories.

i really liked it...

see the thing is, is the school it was played out of was a "black college" so yeah they're really gonna be reppin the drumline. also because it was a black college the go to special comps, not the normal ones most of us are used to. but i don't think that makes them any less "real" though.

I didn't like the drill with the raper. That was just stupid.

Ok let me start out by saying I used to be in drumline so when I heard they were making a movie about it I was thrilled, right?

The way that movie showed drumline was just wrong! A real drumline is nothing like the one from the movie! It was just stupid!

So yeah I didn't like it at all. sweatdrop

The movie itself was overall good to me but the way they showed the entire band was just BLAH!

i think that movie made me loose brain cells. of course i dont even like show bands. (no offence to anyone) around here all the show bands are more interested in dancing like cheap strippers than making music. I guess i am a bit biased because i have never heard a show band sound even somwhat decent.
anyways... about the movie. i agree with yall in that it was a very poor portrayal of what a band is, and it distorted the reality of what a band is to the black population of our band.
