The small form of the hyena crept over the skeleton of the once-impressive Elephant, and soon cleared the ribs, landing and staggering before running. Rapidly, the rodent the hyena was chasing was killed, and Angaza began nosing the carcass apart. It had been a thankfully old rabbit, fat and blind, but regretfully not deaf. Sharp teeth soon began stripping it of flesh, and the warm blood dribbled down his throat. How can any hyena even come close to enduring this?! Angaza grimaced. His zoo had been warm and comfy, and food readily available. However, he remembered to do what had to be done to survive. That was his lesson at puphood. Not that the hyena liked it.

((Haha, too lazy to switch back cool ))
On a stroll, Mabozi was on a lovely afternoon stroll. His belly full from the food he had been provided by his mother and his mind teeming with loving thoughts, the juvinille trotted along at a steady pace, surveying the bones and rubble that made the elephant graveyard what it was. Mabozi had grown older, but not wiser, he was just as scatter brained and dumb as always, not that it was his fault.
The young prince had been humming to himself loudly as he tottered on, so it wasn't a surprise that he didn't hear the commotion Angaza had made as he killed his meal. In fact, Mabozi didn't notice the older hyena until he walked right into him. His head colliding with Angaza's flank, Mabozi was recoiled backwards, landing on his rear with a plop. The frowned, but then looked up, and remembered that he rather liked this hyena very much. His young features were immediately illuminated with a wide, childish grin,
"Zoo! There tha' is! Ah haven' see' tha' in long!"

Both ears pricked attentively as the smaller hyena bumped into his flank. For only one second he was ready to lash out, until he saw who it was, and when he did, he grinned, giving the younger a friendly nuzzle.
"Hey, kiddo! What's up?" Angza grinned, munching in between bouts of his tail wagging.
"Being good?"

Mabozi giggled quietly through his teeth, standing up and affectionately rubbing his head up against Angaza's leg. Mabozi had grown quite a bit, that was for sure, but young Mabozi wasn't exactly aware of that just yet. He remembered himself as being small, and in his mind, he still was. His whispy tail wiggled about in excitement as he backed up, looking up at the only adult that could stand him,
"Yaaaah! 'Bozi be 'eal goo'! MaMa teachi'g me a kill! When Bozi grow, I kill lio's!!!..... Bu' dey 'till scary now..."
His green gaze averted away from Angaza, he was ashamed that he was scared of lions. His mom wasn't, that was for sure. He needed to learn to be like her, brave and fierce, and boy, did he have a hell of a lot to learn.

Angaza chuckled, ruffling Mabozi's neck ruff affectionately with a paw.
"Well, that's always good, kiddo." Angaza gave him a friendly grin. He didn't care if the kid didn't seem all there, he was a good kid, and tried his hardest. That was always a plus to the dust coloured hyena, who found the Graveyard to be a lonely place.
When Mabozi hung his head, Angaza smiled again, nudging his snout reassuringly. They were friends. Friends stuck together.
"Now, kiddo, no shame in feeling fear." He laughed.
"Lots of critters fear lions. Buggers breed constantly and then don't show proper respect for other hunters."
Yes, Angaza had a few choice words for the lions, but as he was used to eating whatever they didn't, it wasn't a big suprise.
Not that the other hyenas knew, of course.

Mabozi's head and ears perked high as he heard Angaza laugh. His characteristic big ole grin popped back onto his face, eyes squinting with joy. He had made a funny! Sure, he didn't know what he had said that was funny, but his friend had found it funny, and that counted. Mabozi beamed and giggled to himself.
"MaMa say da' we cannae be a'scared a lio's, jus' gots kill 'em!"
He nodded firmly, remembering, or trying to remember all the information his mother had pumped into his head. He remembered about twenty percent of it, and that right there was a record breaker. With a childish chuckle, Mabozi trotted a few brisk circles around Angaza, batting at the older male's tail as he went around. After a few rounds, he stopped, looking up to Angaza once agian,
"'S tha' scare a lio's? Was 'ere lio's where tha' lived?"

Angaza beamed, wagging his tail for the younger hyena to play with and chuckled again.
"Lions? Oh yes. Two leggers were always going to see them." Angaza rolled his eyes.
"Mostly what they do is lay in the sun, yawn, eat, and sleep. Can be vicious though. Saw 'em maul a two-legger once. The only use I find them for is at feeding time. Wish the buggers'd leave a bit more to eat and think of the others 'stead of hogging."
Angaza shrugged.
"But, C'ie la vie."
Hmmm, better explain that.
"It means 'Such is life.'"

"SAAAAY LAAA VEEE! Saaaaaaaay la veee! Sey le vee!"
Mabozi trotted in circles again, repeating this phrase. It was a good one? Whatever it meant. Something smart. Of course, he hadn't caught the translation. After a while, he paused, blinked slightly as his mind worked to catch up with what else Angaza had said. Wait, two leggers? The only things he had seen with two legs were birds, lions ate birds too?
"'Oo legge's? Li' vul'ures? I see' dem a'fore. MaMa say dey 'oo smar' fo' dere own goo'... Say la vee!"
Oh boy, Angaza had done it, Mabozi wasn't going to be quick to drop that phrase, nooot at all.

Angaza laughed. Well, atleast Mabozi got the phrase, even if he missed the meaning.
"Well, their bigger than birds. I dunno what else to call them." Then he looked thoughtful. "Although vultures ARE too smart for their own good."
The older hyena looked thoughtful a few minutes.
"ARE there vultures out here?"

Mabozi nodded, pretending like he actually understood what Angaza was talking about. He was just trying to seem smart to impress his friend,
"Oh yah, Sayy laaa veee."
With another nod, he narrowed his eyes like his mother would when she was thinking, but he looked more like he was squinting because of glare rather than glaring. Oh well, perhaps he'd get it down, but for now, he didn't know better.
"Mmhmm, mmmhmm, yah! 'Ere's vul'ures 'round. MaMa say she see one whe' she li'le. No' so ma'y, bu' dey 'ere"

Angaza nodded.
"I see. Things are irritating." He grinned, then pawed Mabozi a bit.
"So, whatcha wanna do?"
