Her wounds were clean thanks to some help from her lioness friend, but Chuakari was still in pain. The young cheetah walked with a limp, and it was making her anxious to be out in the daylight like this. She was so bright it'd be hard to miss her, and after the attack she was not so naive to the potential of dangerous creatures being about. To try to help with the pain and to try to remain partially hidden, she was crouched lower than normal and walking slow.

"Just have to get back," she told herself quietly. If she just got back to the Duma'bara land, she could stay there and feel safe. That's how she understood things to be, part of being in a coalition meant you would be safe. Uri had said so, part of why he encouraged her to join was because it wasn't safe to be out alone.

So she walked on with a limp, keeping her eyes forward but her ears open to the other directions.

Hasidi had been wandering the lands in hope of finding someone who may know his mother, she was a mystery to him and it was impossible to find someone that knew her. Hasidi was half abandoned half left because his mother died, and now he was left searching for answers about an unknown family.

The earthy red and cream colored adolescent lion walked slowly, a limp in his left hind leg. It was the only thing his mother ever gave him and a constant reminder of his quest. Today was a good day for his leg, the heat was not overwhelming and he was moving on a full stomach.

Red eyes widened as he saw a pink form walking slowly and his mind instantly shifted to Shairi, an adult cheetah he had bumped into some time ago. It might not have been much of a meeting but it left him with a curiosity for cheetahs, and gave him the courage to roam around Africa.

"Shairi is that you!? Are you hurt?" He called to her and quickened his slow ambling pace, he noted the crouching posture and thought for sure that if it was Shairi she was hurt, or another creature was hurt.

Despite her attempts to remain alert to her surroundings, she didn't hear the lion until just before he called out to her. She crouched lower instinctively and turned to look for the source of the call even though the name was not her own. She glanced anxiously around her, looking to see if anyone else was about that she had missed that he could have been calling to but saw no one.

Kari then relaxed a bit. It was a lion, for one, and he sounded concerned. This was not a step in a negative direction, all of her experiences with just lions had been good.

"I'm Chuakari," she replied with wide eyes, still low and leaning away a bit, "Who's Shairi?"

Hasidi stopped just before the pink cheetah, the heat of embarrassment starting to swell in his face. It wasn't her; a long sigh escaped him and for a moment he forgot she had asked a question. The small lion smiled sweetly and looked at Chuakari.

"Hello, Chuakari, I am Hasidi, "He paused for a long moment gathering his thoughts, "Shairi was a cheetah I met a while ago she was very sweet to me and I thought you were her."

He looked over the female cheetahs form and suddenly doubted the reason he thought she could be the adult cheetah he had met, she was smaller for one and looked much younger. "Are you alright? You look hurt.." He stepped forward showing concern, wincing as he set his paw down.

Chuakari flinched inwardly after she asked who Shairi was and the lion sighed, she should have asked his name as well. Luckily, it was given to her when next he spoke. She smiled sheepishly at him, nodding slowly, "It's nice to meet you, Hasidi."

When he explained who Shairi was, Kari frowned, "I'm sorry I'm not her." She sounded truly apologetic. It was really a shame she was not Shairi if he enjoyed her company so much. When he looked her over she did her best to stand up straight and tall, wishing despite the pain it brought to give a good impression. Her body shook as she tried to maintain the position, so she shifted her weight to her uninjured paws, sacrificing some of her posture.

"I- I'm fine," she stammered. It wasn't exactly a lie, and she had no intentnion of lying again if she could help it. She would be alright, she would live, though she was hurt. "I'll be fine, anyway," she corrected herself.

"The gods themselves couldn't lie as good as you," wow that was almost poetic! Hasid chuckled. She was beautiful, it was odd that he felt so strongly for females. He respected them all above everything they gave life, something he was therally confused by. He was a dope, but a shy and respectful one.

"Do not be sorry, Shairi was a friend I met once, and I will some day see her again. Besides, I think that you would be a new friend, and they are just as good as old ones," he had a slow drawl to his voice befitting his slow disposition. He was almost always cheerful and bumbling. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Chuakari, I think your name is a mouthful," he chuckled again. Today was a "smart" day for him.

Kari frowned at the comment on her lying abilities. Lying is what had gotten her into this mess in the first place, she wasn't too pleased with compliments to this. Of course, she quickly forced a small smile to hide this fact.

Her smile became more genuine when he told her not to be sorry and explained how she could be a new friend. It was nice that he wasn't too disappointed she wasn't the other cheetah.

"I'm glad, then," she murmured, "You can call me Kari if you like. It's a lot easier than my whole name."

"I did not mean to offend you," suddenly realizing his sentence might have been offensive to her. He meant it purely as a compliment, and was suddenly reall confused, maybe this wasn't one of his better days. "I'm sorry. I just say wrong things, Kari." He shifted his weight nervously and looked down at his paws, it was hard to talk to other creatures, he had a very hard time understand and explaining to others.

"Kari is a lot better," he added.

"No, it's ok, really!" she quickly spilled out, "I know you didn't mean it like that, it's just lying is what got me into this whole mess." Kari nodded down to her front left paw, which had wounds that were starting to heal. She bit her lip, glancing back up at Hasidi, "I guess that means I say wrong things, not you," she smiled sheepishly, hoping to get him to cheer up a bit again.

"I have a hurt paw too!" he exclaimed already brightening up, he was never upset for long. "How did yours happen, lieing makes you hurt? That sounds like a tribal story." He leaned down sniffing her paw, reminded of the pain of a fresh wound. His heart pounded in his chest and he shook slightly. It was hard on him to see others hurt, he had met a creature that was so terrified by him she ran away, certianly he wasn't a terrible creature?

His red eyes looked up to meet hers and there was a twinkle in them that showed he was truly concerned for her, and it wasn't just talk. He became attached to new friends quickly.

Kari looked surprised when he suddenly announced that he too had a hurt paw, and was unable to help but look down towards his paws. Her eyes moved back up quickly when he asked about how lying made her paw hurt. It made her laugh quietly, which made her feel quite a bit better than she had been feeling only moments ago. She would have sat down, or leaned down, or something other than continuing just to stand there but she was still more comfortable not moving than moving.

"It wasn't lying that did it," she explained, her tone falling as she got to what actually happened, "I told a friend I'd seen a hyena before, and told her all these things about how easy it was to escape and how stupid they are. We went looking for a hyena, and we did find one.."

She was looking at the ground when she finished. The worst part of the situation, she felt, was that she wasn't the only one that had gotten hurt. It was her fault Kia had been hurt too. All she ever wanted to do was to please those around her, and she'd failed miserably that time. It was odd to even be admitting to someone that she had lied and thus caused a friend harm. Her violet eyes moved back up to meet his.

At least she was being honest. If honesty didn't work, she didn't know what she would do!

"I see, well as long as you are alive and so is your friend that is all that matters," he smiled brightly and then stuck his left hind leg out oddly so that she may see the scares bare of fur on his leg, he was so used to others asking about his wounds that it felt odd to ask about hers.
So it wasn't lying that had gotten her into it, it was actually talking, that was weird! He had never gotten into that type of trouble from talking, usually he said small comments and others asked questions.

"Laughter keeps you young, that's what I have heard." He had heard quite a bit and regurgitated most of it, if there was an original thought in Hasidi's mind it was soon lost by other people's comments.

"I have never seen a hyena, and from what you say I should stay clear of them," he nodded.

"I gue- I mean, you're right," she muttered, nodding and looking curiously to the leg he held out to show off the scars. Kari examined his paw intently for several seconds, then looked back to him, "What happened to your paw?" It looked like it still bothered him, and that worried her. Would she have any permanent side effects from her own little encounter with trouble?

Laughter keeps you young. Interesting, she would have to remember that. She'd done a lot of laughing, she thought. Just not the last little while, being attacked was not so fun.

"Now that I've actually seen a hyena, I can tell you honestly they aren't very nice," she murmured, "They're kind of like wild dogs, but not as nice looking. They have a bunch of fuzz on their heads too.." Her eyes went to Hasidi's head, "But not like yours, more like mine but bigger."

He set his paw down gingerly, folding it under himself so that there would not be much pressure on it. "When I was little my first mother drove my siblings and I walking all the time. Until I ripped apart my leg in an accident, and my sisters went into the clearing at the end of the path," meaning they died, "She died too, I was the only surivor, this is what I have to show from that part of my life." he nodded and a glint of a tear fell in his cheek. He said these words so many times over and over again and each time a part of him wanted to melt down and cry.

"Well, I'll be sure to stay away from anything dog related, just incase," he said awkwardly trying to change the subject.

Kari's eyes widened when Hasidi told his story, mentioning the deaths of his family and how the injury was a reminder of it all. She opened her mouth to comment, but found no words and closed her mouth. At least her own injury was not a reminder of anything but her own stupidity.

"I'm sorry," she managed finally, frowning. When he changed the subject, though, she made an effort to keep it changed. He wouldn't change it unless he wanted to, and she wasn't sure what to say otherwise.

"That'd be a good idea, I guess," Kari nodded, "Except wild dogs aren't like hyenas, I met a couple of them and they were both really nice.." she paused, laughing quietly, "Well, one did try to steal a bird I caught, but he gave it back.."
