WELL~ Howdy hi, guys and gals. We hope you all have been putting on your thinking caps and hammering out kinks in your Passenger concepts, because the wenches of the shop have finally gotten together and worked out the last of the details pertaining to the Concept Contest and upcoming RP eventu.
Right now (August 29th, around 4 in the afternoon EST) we are cutting the ribbon (or, will be, as soon as this page of information is all filled out and suchwhat) on the concept contest. This phase of the contest is the sign up phase and shall last for several weeks. Why? Well, if you head on over to the "{Present}" it will be happy to try and be informative. If it's not quite enough feel free to ask questions, either here in this loverly thread on or the main thread.
As a warning:: Please don't post in the new "Penny on the Tracks" subforum. Yet. We will tell you when you can heart

We've moved on to the Final Stage of the concept contest! Thank you sososo much for your patience everyone!
Stage Three will last a final tweleve days, from today [December 27th, 'o6] until 11:59PM EST on January 7th, 2oo6!A curious creature named E The final stage of the contest is just wrapped up loose ends. In this stage participants should go on to put the finishing touches on their concept thread, making sure that everything is clear and in its place to be judged. When Stage 3 ends the Penny of the Tracks Forum will be locked so that the judges can judge.

A place to archieve past events in the contest.Tucked away in a dusty ticketbooth Phase 2::Oh, hay, look! It's a task number one! AFTER IT!
I... erm, ahem, sorry. We zoned off for a moment. Won't happen again u.u
Task #1: Below are three sets of different 'prompts' as it were. The first section contains Sets of Words, the second Phrases and the third are Situation sorts of prompts.
You'll probably note that we've whited out all the words following their respective number, well, that's all a part of the task >3
Now, each contestant has the option into going into this blind....
The Blindfolded Option!:: [Aka luck of the draw, aka 'damn that random number generator! D:']
:: For Contestants who'd like to try something a little risky they have the choice of picking either 'Word Sets' or 'Phrases' and, using Gaia's random number generator [with a range of 1-9 for 'Words' and 1-17' for 'Phrases'], generate a number. After you've done that, find that number in the list, highlight the white-text, and write. Your response can be anything (providing it doesn't violate Gaia's TOS). But remember, we're looking to see your writing style and, even more importantly, how you write your Passenger.
Note: The generation of random numbers should be done in this thread. Why? Because Chao, Hikari and Sin are curious little creatures biggrin
The Slightly Safer, but No Less Fun and Interesting, Option!::
::For Contestants who don't want to leave this up to fate, you may highlight the sets of words and phrases and simply choose whichever seems like a fun and interesting option then write for it! It's worth repeating that your response can be anything (providing it doesn't violate Gaia's TOS). But remember, we're looking to see your writing style and, even more importantly, how you write your Passenger.
Please note, if you choose this option, make sure to post in this thread saying you've picked one (and, if you're so inclined, which one you're leaning towards) out so that the shop's managers can keep track of who has and who hasn't.

17. "Well... you see, my father's really quite dead."
Situation Prompts:
I. Your passenger wakes up one morning to discover that he/she can hear the object of their affection’s thoughts. What comes of this strange predicament?
II. Your passenger is strangely ill! You take him/her to the nearest hospital (with a free clinic) and meet a very grumpy (snarky) doctor (who really, really doesn’t want to be working the clinic that day), who informs you, rather harshly, that your passenger has contracted some strange disease, and he had no idea what it is. What do you do?
Extra stuffs and RULES for Task One! Please read!
i. The word limit for every prompt is 5000 words and prompts should be posted in your Passenger's threads in the 'Penny on the Track' forum.
ii. Current guardians should feel free to take part in this task if they'd like, just follow the rules and post in the thread which prompt you're doing and, if you'd like, even post your writing as well <3
a. Guardians can write about any of their characters, not just their Passengers xD
iii. Contestants should post their prompt along with their response in their thread under the 'Task 1' post.
iv. Contestants may do more than one prompt. Or combine prompts, if they're so inclined. Please just be sure to write which prompt(s) you're using when you post and, er, if you choose to write a bunch, please only put the one you like best in the 'Task 1' post, so the judges know which one you think best portrays your Passenger and can choose whether they want to read all your responses or just that one.
v. If you find yourself stuck with your prompt then move on, do another one, just post in this thread and tell us (yes, this counts for everyone, even the people who choose the blindfold option). This is meant to be fun and low pressure and we understand that not every prompt will spark your interest (or even hold your interest) and changing your prompt will not effect your chances of winning the contest in any way.
vi. None of the options (blind, choice or situation) is in any way better or worse than the others. They're simply different to give people options and liven the contest a bit, nothing more or less than that, so don't sweat about which option you choose heart
vii. Have fun!
viii. These prompts came from an array of places from songs to the wonderful 'Prompt Me!' thread on Gaia, to livejournal, to a rather awesome show which Sin indoctrinated into the fandom of. The situations were written by the fabulous thesinwithin [aka Sin], who also supplied a few phrases and many a word clump. She is awesome, go worship her.
ix. Passengers may be any age in these prompts, but it must take place in their lives as Passengers living in Gaia, rather than in their previous life.
x. If you have any questions please feel free to post them in this thread!
NOTE: Please keep in mind that we highly suggest that everyone continue to work on their thread, espically as you start to write your Passenger. as the contest progresses as, hopefully, when you begin to write/rp your Passenger little personality quirks and such what may very well become more evident! Don't worry, we won't be locking the concept threads until the very end and we promise to give you ample notice before we do.
Phase 1::Well, at the moment, the concept is in it's 'sign up' phase (also known as "Phase 1 :: Aggravate the Wonderful Masses into Working and Showing Us the IUJ Related Content of Their Heads"). This phase is going to last until (at least) Saturday, September 30th, 2006. Why? Well, read on and you shall see.
In this loverly contest there shall be, at least, one fully custom IUJ child given out. This number is susceptible to change, depending on the number of entrants.
Entrants must sign up between now and the end of September.
:: To sign up-> Post in this thread withI'm hip to the Junction Jive, Hepcat.
:: Once signed up-> Go to the subforum "Penny on the Tracks" and create a thread. Reserve the entire front page of this thread and title it any way you wish. Then fill it out as if it was a quest thread with information about your dream Passenger.
I. In this thread there must be a post dedicated to the Concept/past life of your Passenger and two (2) posts should be reserved for tasks which Hikari and Chao may assign in the next phase. Otherwise the format/layout of your thread is all up to you heart Feel free to get banners and suchwhat (though they are by no means required) and arts of your prospective Passenger biggrin
For organization purposes we will be using the IUJ Mule created thread in the Penny on the Track subforum to keep track of everyone's threads.
After Signing Up/Creating your thread:: Once a person has reserved their entire first page of their thread it becomes open for constructive critism/comments (if you are truly opposed to this say so in your last post) by guardians, lurkers, other concept participants ect. Hikari and Chao encourage everyone to take part in this, especially particpants, as we are judging on more than just your concept alone in this contest ;3
Chao and Hikari themselves will be doing their best not to post their thoughts, just to stay fair, but have the right to do so if we feel we must (for example: if your concept confuses us/doesn't seem clear, we have the right to say so). You have no obligation to agree with/heed everyone's constructive criticism, but please, no fights and all criticism should be constructive. No hating/flaming everyone! If we find anyone flaming or being disrespectful there shall be consequences!
One this phase of the concept contest is complete we will not be locking the threads, in fact, we encourage everyone to modify their concepts as the contest progresses in the events afterwards as, hopefully, when you begin to write/rp your Passenger little personality quirks and suchwhat may very well become more evident.
