I was just about to read a thread about this at SHQ. She looks nifty, but awfully severe. Since she's posing in opposition to Sonic, I wonder if Sega're using another furry villain. What do you think of the early screen shots? Personally, I'm concerned that they might easily've been able to use one of the existing cast of unused characters rather than resort to creating yet another one, but she does have a very dynamic looking design. I just hope, from that facial expression, that she's not another-angst-by-numbers type.

I am informed that this is the game Sonic team have been working on for a long time... that they've been putting most of thier effort into, and keeping under wraps. On the other hand, I don't own a DS, and can't afford or emulate one. So... mixed feelings. Looks like it could be very, very good... but no idea when I'll be able to play it. As for the new character.... ok visual design. Looks like a sort of semi-villain, like Knuckles as he was at first.

Sonic Rush (Damn, I love that name!) is looking to be really good. The level designs seem to be the nearest thing we'll get to old skool S3&K action, outside of Advance 3.
If these early screens and Blaze's character design are anything to go on, this'll be a good year for us Sonic gamers.

I think I'll wait until I've at least got word on the gameplay before I comment about the game itself, but the screens don't look too bad. The backgrounds seem awfully plush and smoothly modeled in comparison even to something like Sonic Adventure DS (which just made the characters just look like bath toys), but hopefully, that Sonic sprite's only provisional. He just doesn't seem rounded or slick enough to fit in.

For some reason, this Blaze the Cat reminds me of Shadow...do you know if she's good or evil?

Looking good so far. Thanks for the heads up, this gives me enough time to find a friend that I not only have to steal a DS from but convince them to buy Sonic Rush before I do it domokun Poor sucka.

Just got new info from Sega's e3 site http://e3.sega.comApparently Blaze is a queen from an alternate reality, and there's "Double the Eggman" so apparently we're dealing not only with 2 screens, but 2 Eggmen. That on it's own is interesting enough as it is. Judging from the cryptic description, Sega are going to continue being the masters of Nintendo's un-used technology and make for some really funky useage of the two screens and stylus. and *Pokes Nua* I have faith in eye-candy, because it was the only feature missing from Sonic Advance 3, possibly the best Sonic game we've seen since the old days. Come, on. I know we have alot of jaded Sonic fans, but Sonic Battle, Sonic Advance 3, Sonic X Series 2. We've been spoiled rotten with great and quality stuff, and yet all people want to do is be pessemistic because of Heroes. Sega have been rocking our socks off for the past 2 years, this E3 is the most promising thing I've seen since when SA1 came out.

Sadv3 restored my faith in the series' capacity to be any good. Hence why I'm not saying "this'll be awful" first off, whereas without Sadv3 I'd still be holding the opinion that Sonic team had forgotten how to make 2D games...

*Nodnod* Yeah. Exactly, Sonic Advance 3 was amazing.
And isn't this what all the Sonic fans kept begging for and throwing their toys out of the crib for? How many topics have I sat in where people say their perfect idea for a Sonic game would be 2.5d with detailed graphics rather than crappy 3d landscapes. Judging from the screens it's fairly apparent you can move between the foreground and background (the tree "rail" spirals in and out of the backdrop)
Infact, I'm shocked the fanboys and girls are too busy saying how bad Sonic's 3d model in 2d world looks. Other than that, they got their wish.

Samwise Chubb *Nodnod* Yeah. Exactly, Sonic Advance 3 was amazing. I've sung its praises in a few places in this guild. I'l link to them if necessary. And by GBA standards, the eye candy level might not've been obscenely ground-breaking, but it was hardly drab. smile Quote: And isn't this what all the Sonic fans kept begging for and throwing their toys out of the crib for? I always thought that some sort of switching mechanism, whilst it'd add extra skill, would maybe slow the speed element down too badly. Personally, I sort of like the both-screen loops. I'll wait to see how they transfer to actual gameplay...
