Starting out. . .
The day was already midmorn, the lazy sun was hanging in the sky casting rays of heat down upon the city street. A figure stood, his blonde hair sparkling in the sunlight a lute strapped to his back. Something was calling him, even as he shouldered a pack full of provisions he couldn't help but take another look behind him. The only home he had ever known or at least remembered and he was leaving. Not forever mind you, but for a while.
As he turned his back once more to his home he shifted the weight of his pack and then took his first step forward, this must of been what Medeine had felt when she went on her journey, his next couple steps were hesitant. Could he really leave them all behind? He knew he would have to, this was his journey and only he could travel the road he started walking.
Somehow...in his naive mind he anticipated this journey would only last the day...maybe two and only was equipped with provision to last a day and a half. Foolishi boy, for his journey would take him far and he would meet many new faces....
***
The forest, the first place he had ever been, the border of his memories everything past thoughs blackberry brambles were a mystery to him. A fog that hadn't lifted since he had arrived in Hamlen. It was also the setting where he had met Kinnara. He stood, now at that very spot where he had first crashed into the cat boy, his eyes took ni the view of sharp throns and twisting vines marring his path. He needed to go through, up the ridge and back to where he had originaly come from.
Planting his hands on his hips in a very feminine manner he titled his head and scanned the scene. Thorns...brambles...more brambles and more thorns. It looked like it was going to be a very painful journey at that. Good thing he had packed a first aid kit. Trying to pick the path of least resistance, he started in, slowly each step measured and every snag causing to make his pace slower than a snails sprint. Minutes dragged on endlessly and what felt like hours were only a mer ten minutes. And now he found himself at a dead end. The cliff face was too steep for him to climb and there wasn't anything sturdy enuogh to climb onto to rag him free of the brambles. He knew he would have to backtrack, andgo the way he knew would be more difficult but would lead him to an edge to clamber up on. He wondered breifly why everything must be the hardest way.
About half an hour later he found himself on top of the ridge, his shirt was full of holes and rips, bright thin line of red showed where thorn met flesh and won. He felts sore, ever muscle ached from the strain of trying to move carefully, but as he looked back; he knew that he could only move forward now. Taking a swig from his water container he then continued onewards. But which way? Nothing looked familar and he had no idea where any path may lead him.
Not that there were any paths really, mainly thick brush and trees. So closing his eyes he tried to feel deep down inside what was leading him onwards. Having no luck he picked a direction randomly and started forth.
***
Day waned slowly into evening and dusk brought about it own nightmares. Shadows and unfamlar sounds haunted Aurora's every move, it made him jump and want to cry out. But he didn't have any one to cling to this time, no Kinnara or Aekepi or Medeine. He felt so alone and it was starting to get cooler out. Wishing he had brought warmer clothes he stopped and opened his pack to bring out a light jacket. Really it was only a windbreaker, thin material not really suitable for trying to keep warm; but it was the only thing he had.
Standing up straight as he pulled on the sleeves, he noticed in the shadows a form that resemebeld a old house. not very large, more like a cottage really. He hurried forward picking up his pack and appraoched the building. Warm food, shelter, just for the night he would reassuer them. He had some money so he could pay for his intrusion.
His eyes met with dismay, the cottage was very run down, the front door was hanging on only one hinge and swayed ever slightly in the wind that now had picked up, every window was broken, glass littered the ground inside and out. And were those claw marks he spotted on the door frame?
He stopped feeling terrible forboding about this place, but there was no where else to go and it was getting to dark to try finding somewhere else to sleep. Tip toeing past glass he pushed open the door with his free hand onlyto hear it creak in protest. The inside wasn't much better.
Broken shelves and tables, blankets and clothes were ripped appart. the home had been ransacked. SOmeone had probabbly been searcing for something and found it and left. It still left Aurora feeling vunerable. A thick film of dust was covering everything, showing that no one had been here in months...perhaps even years, and yet dispite this he felt an odd sense of nostalga. He had never been here before...right?
Taking a deep breaht he broke into a coughing fit. Too much dust, not enough air it seemed, but...he supposed this would have to do for the night. His pakc slid down his shoulders and plopped to the ground causing more dust to fly into the air. Using his sleeve to filter out the dust he then withdrew a thin blanket and tried to find a suitable place to sleep. An old cough cusion served as a pillow though he attempted to shake out the dust and mold before even attempting to lay his head on it.
As the light wanned it got harder and harder to see, and soon total darkness was his only friend. Stumbeling he layed down brushing debris out of his path and then atempted to sleep.

The Nightmare Part 1
'You will p***k your finger on a spinning wheel...and die.....'
The voice came from the darkness, soft yet menacing every word dripping with venom.
Aurora opened his eyes, only to find himself in a room, with a single doorway and a single window. He lay on a bed roses surronding his body. He groaned placing a hand onto his forhead. It hurt but when he lowered his hand he saw bright red blood smeered across his pointer finger.
'You will die..."
The voice cackeled from the darkness though he could make out no visible form. Aurora sat up, petals falling away from his golden hair, sudden dizziness caused him to blink rapidly.
"What are you talking about? Spinning Wheel? I have never seen one of those before." He gasped feeling a tightening in his chest.
"No matter, I will exact my revenge Princess.." The bodiless voice continued though Aurora started to think it was insane.
"Princess? But I am a boy...you've got the wrong person." He attempted to reason with the disembodied voice but even as he tried to move off of the bed he felt to weak to continue.
"Where is your Prince Princess? He will not save you, no one can." The voice continued ignoring his words, the voice was coming mainly from one shadowy corner. Though when he tried to focus over there his vision went blurry.
"I TOLD you...you've got the wrong person. I am a boy!" He said with more annoyance now, he knew hehad femine looks but this was getting ridiculous.
"you can't cower behind your words Princess...you will die. I will have my revenge."
Aurora starting to feel exasperated glared at the corner and then grabbed ahold of the shirt he was wearing. Only to feel...something under the fodls of cloth. Looking down he saw he had breasts. Well endowed ones much like Medeine's.
In shock he found that he was wearing a dress of royal blue and fingering something that weighed on his head a tiara.
"I AM NOT A GIRL!" he shouted finding his voice higher pitched than normal. "I am not the princess I am the PRINCE!" he shouted but the voice wouldn't listen.
"You will p***k your finger on a spinning wheel...and die." the evil cackle continued..."you will die..."
A spinning wheel appeared in the room, the needle glistening with what looked like liquid...red liquid...blood. Aurora looked to his finger in dismay and saw the red well of blood seep from his finger tip and then all went black.

Resuming his journey:
Aurora woke with a start, his heart was beating wildly as if he had just ran a ten mile race. Instinctively he reached his his shirt and found only his flat chest, he sighed in relief. His nightmare made no sense...and he was glad that morning was now upon him.
Sunlight filtered through the broken window, and as he sat up he groaned his body feeling the aches from the floor board he had slept on. Perhaps that was why he had that strange dream. He hadn't eaten anything and was sleeping in an unfmailar place. That must of been the reason for it. Stretching again he then stood up and glanced about the room. It really had been torn up. It was strange, he felt saddened by the sight but couldn't determine why.
Fishing out his water bottle he sipped it and then nibbeled on some crackers and cheese before weaving his way out of the wreck, now daylight the forest didn't seem nearly as scary as it had been the night before but now he wondered were he needed to go. THis was all such unfamilar territory, he had a sudden urge to turn around and go home. He was being foolish. He needn't rush home jsut because of a minor detail of being lost.
Taking one step forward he continued on his way...
***
Several ong hours later Aurora sank to his butt at the edge of a cement road he had just came upon. His feet ached, his legs tired and don't even start on his shoulders. THis was a LOT harder than he had anticipated, he was almost right out of food and his water supply was low.
He looked up as he heard a truck drive past and then the screeching oil needed brakes erupted into the air. A head popped out a woman with brgith red lipstick gave a very wide grin.
"Hey son...you look like you need a ride." She observed, using a pudgy hand to brush a thick curl out of her face. Her blush was too bright and her eyes too dark, but Aurora didn't concern himself with those and stood up wobbily.
"Do you know where I am?" he asked wearirying to shoulder his lute again only to have it half slip back onto the ground.
"Boy you look exhausted, come back to our farm and we can fix you right up." she offered a sweet smile spreading across her face. Nodding Aurora stepped towards them.

On the Road again;
Aurora felt cramped sitting between the large blonde woman with big lips and the enormous bearded man driving, the set belt was cutting into his chest, his belongings were in the back of the truck and he wondered how much further he was going to stay in this vehicle.
"Um...you can drop me off anywhere." He managed to gasp out only to catch an dissaproving stare from the driver.
"Can't do that son. You need a town at least, not the middle of no where." The large man grumbeled as if a town was the last place he would want to go to, his wife could only nod her head.
"Yes of course a town, can't we take him home first? He really could use a bath and some tidying up." the woman seemed vey determined to take Aurora home with them though the man seemed against it.
"No...next town he is going. " he grumebeled the last few words making them almost unaudable and Auro was getting more and more uncomfertable, this ride seemed to go on forever, he wish he had never accepted the ride now how in the world was he going to get back home??
The woman huffed and then turned and started to play with Aurora's hair.
"My my you have such gorgous hair, nothing like mine, mine is like hay to next to yours." She cooed her long nails scraping against his scalp as she ran her fingers trough. He winced at every stroke dreading the next one and desperately wanted to get out of the vehicle.
It was lycky when the sound of the bracks roared into like, causing Auro to jerk againsthis already tight seat belt.
"You get out now.." growled the man, his wife looked displeased but managed to shuffle over and out of the car to let Aurora wiggle his ows way out as well. He wobbeled a bit as his feat touched teh ground, his legs felt stiff and a tad numb. The woman fussed over his hair one more time before grabbing his stuff from the back of the pick up and handing it to him.
"THe closest town in over yonder." the woman pointed to the shimmering buildings in the distance, they didn't look too far....
"Thanks for the ride..." he started but the truck had already pulled away, he could hear the woman harrassing her husband about his manners even as they dissapeared from view.
Shouldering his pack and lute, he looked towards the city and sighed, here he goes again...walking.

Into the city depths -
By the time Aurora had managed to drag himself into the outskirts of the city, it was getting dark. He had never been to a city before, the tall scyscrapers and the noises made him on edge. Flashing lights lit up the streets and he couldn't help but shiver as he walked down one narrow sidewalk and out of the flickering lamp posts light.
So what was he going to do now? He had no where to sleep and had run out of food a while back. He searched his pockets and found only a couple of quarters for money. This was...great. Sutffing the coin back into his pocket he wrapped his arms around his chest filling the night air starting to chill.
The city it seemed never slept. Noises rang out through the night, shouting, cars squealing away taking pavement with them. It was for the most part a terrifying expereince entering the strange city as dusk rapidly fell into night. His small frame shuddered with the cold. Stopping his movement he took his pack off and then searched hte contents for the light jacket he had brought with him.
He wrapped the jacket around his shoulders and it helped somewhat. But now what? IT wasn't like he had money to ask for a place to stay. What was his purpose here? It wasn't like Auro to doubt himself this way. He traveled through the darkened streets feeling the weight of night settle upon his shoulders. Tired and hungry he slumped against a wall and felt his eyes close....soon sleep over took him...

Then Nightmare part 2 -
He wasn't sure when the world shifted, suddenly he was overlooking a drawbridge, the wood was starting to rot away the cobbles forming the foundation of the castle we weakened and falling apart. Thorns...everywhere was brambles and thorns. The air was filled with a sense of forboding.
You...insolent fool....you dare challenge me? Me? The mistress of all evil?
The voice rang out in the air, though Aurora couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from. Suddenly he saw himself running down the drawbridge wearing a pink dress.
WHAT THE HELL?? Why was he wearing a pink dress? He saw though the panic stricken expression on his face..This was all too weird. How could he be watching himself? He almost cried out though watching his other self trip on the hem of the dress and fall to the ground. Suddenly a large black dragon bearing down upon the form.
Now you deal with me.....and all the forces...of HELL!! The voice boomed the dragon rearing its ugly head and breathing down fire upon his hapless form.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" he cried out suddenly appearing beside the his other self and finding a sheild in hand, a sword in the other. He was able to deflect most of the fire though as he crouched down the grab the other him he saw the look of terror on the girlish boys face.
Did he always look like a girl? he pondered to himself as he stared into his own blue eyes. "we have to get out of here.." he started only to have the other him pull onto his arm.
"no no no...we can't escape..she will kill us both...she will win." the other him moaned and lamented about hteir fate the dragon was grinning in the meanwhile its tongue flickering out like a snake. It snapped its teeth together before taking anothe rlong inhale of breath.
"I won't let it kill you...or me." he stated sounding much more brave than he actually felt. But as soon as these words left his mouth he heard a bellowing roar and a belch of fire. It rushed towards them and soon all was black.
You will die....I have fortold this...and not even true loves first kiss will save you.... The laughing voice echoed even as the darkness swallowed him whole.

Aurora woke with a start, this was his second nightmare, though very different from the first. He shifted finding his muscles sore from his strange sitting position, leaning against the wall.
He felt his muscles stiffen even more as he felt eyes upon him. He turnedhis head as a shadow fell across him. He didn't have time to react as the foot hurteled towards his side.
With a grunt he felt him fall to the side, the air felt like it was sucked out of his lungs, his eyes were wide as he attempted to draw breath. A chuckle was all he heard and then another.
"Well it looks like sissy boy has finally awoken." one distinct voice spoke, it was nasily and very annoying to listen to.
"Yah Sleeping beauty finally awoke." another voice deeper and much more demanding of attention started. His eyes watering Aurora turnedhis head to peer up at the thugs who had brutally attacked him. There was about 5 all together, ranging in heights and ages, he guessed the odlest was not quite 17 and the yongest 14.
In the short they were all older than himself, and it was obvious that they were not friendly. He groaned his hand reached for the side that was kicked only to habe another foot crunch onto his fingers.
"Does this hurt?" A voice the Auro reconized to be the first one asked, he winced feeling boot dig and crunch into his fingers. He let out a cry of pain only to have the foot crunch and dig even more into the bone.
"St..stop!" he cried out feeling as if every bone was going to break in his fingers. BUt it didn't, only the pain continued. "Well will yo ulook at that he even sounds like a girl..." sounded another voice as another foot nudged against his knee.
Aurora flinched expecting another kick, he heard the sniggers as they saw him move.
"your pathetic...too pathetic to bother....but we will be taking your bag...and that instrument of yours.."
Aurora felt his body being josteled, even as he tried to hold onto his instrument he felt it being yanked out of his hand...his eyes snapped open as he watched it being lifted away from him. his hand reached out for it only to have it batted away.
He watched as the figures sneered and then turned to leave...
Finding something inside himself not wanting this to happen suddenly words whispered out of his mouth...
O green world, Don't desert me now Bring me back to fallen town Where someone is still alive
Fighting for something new in this When no one needs the heart of me and I'll Get out somewhere other than me before...
(than me before...)
O green world Don't deserve me now I'm made of you and you of me But where are we? Oh no
Sells to lie Phone with talk, you stars Suppose you Down when you're in fast Cause it seems so little to you
But now you're in love, you know You know, me too You know, me too I hope sex and drugs rust into my self, holy It feels holy It feels like you're with your father in the place you love...
As the first words lef this mouth in a whisper, they were carried to the closests ears.. he stopped and turned and even as Aurora's words became stronger and more confident the rest of the gang slowed their walk and turned to listen.
Each slow and deliberate pause caused an enthrallement in not only the gang but others that were nearby....

The realization -
"Wow...you have a talent there." Stated Jae one of the gang members who whisteled at his comment.
"Yah were sorry we picked on you there." Stated another member with a huff...he had introduced himself at Clii. THe other three sat in silence as they returned Auro's stuff and now sat in a cirlce around him watching him like he was some star or god.
Aurora felt relieved to have his possessions back, but now felt uncomfertable with all the attention. His side was bruising up nicely from the kick from earlier and he was a bit worried that this gang may decide to change their mind about befriending him.
He gave a weak smile at the compliment and hugged the instrument gently in his arms. "Th..thanks." he stuttered still feeling nervous. He wished that Medeine was here..or Kinnara. Anyone really..
"Man we must of given you a scare." stated Jae as he raised a cigerette to his lips and searched for a lighter amoungst his many pockets. "You look like a mouse who had just encountered a snake." He continued after he found said lighter and lit his cigerette.
Aurora's nose wrinkeled at the smell but he didn't comment. He was starting to relax finally, something inside of him was getting acussomed to everything, even their manner of speech and strange sayings. He finally realized he wasn't afriad of them anymore. Somehow through his song he had befriended them. This...was only the begginging.

And soon weeks pass... -
Aurora stood his nearly aquired jeans torn, his lute on his back, his hair needing a desperate brushing. He let loose a wild grin as he jumped down from the cement wall, the rest of the gang fallowing him in suit. He gave a laugh feeling more free than he had in ages.
NO rules....no regulations to abide. Though his nightmares huanted him ever night he ignored them for the most part. The gang had fully accepted him now, though he refused to steal he earned money through song and it was enough to keep the gang with enough food and other goods for a while.
Things...had never been better. But Aurora was feeling doubt..and something was nagging him, it wasn't until he bumped into a woman that resemebeled a young girl he knew very well that it hit him. HARD.
IT was like the world crashed around him. It had been a awhile since he had left home and he had not bothered to get ahold of anyone this whole time. Facepalming he wondered what to do. He couldn't jsut abandon his gang now...could he? He would think about it this night and make a decision in the morning. Yah thats wha the would do...
And soon enough night fell but only nightmares filled his mind...

The Nightmare Finale -
There were two of him, a mirror in front of 'them'. One was dressed in a dress golden hair curled to perfection a mousy look on his face, the other was dressed like a slob, ripped jeans, messy hair and peircings on his eyebrow and ears a rebellious look on his face. But....He was staring at them both from the mirror.
Hands pressed up against the backside of the glass he watched as each stood motionless as if waiting for a que to move.
YOu will die...one of them will...I will not allow any of you to leave...
The voice was getting more and more familar every dream and it always said similar things. He sighed and tried to push against the glass.
"Why? why will one or all of us die here?" He stated trying to figure out why he was locked in this void of a room. All was black around him, this mirrow the only window to the outside. At least this was different, never been in a void room before.
Becuase I fortold it... The voice replied a mad cackle following in suit. Aurora sighed.
"I will figure out a way to rescue them.." he stated bravely the mad laughter only intensified.
You can never become the prince...you are destined to be the princess...you will die.
Aurora sighed again and then rolled his neck and shoulders...
"Princess or prince...I will not let them be hurt...I will NOT let others be hurt."
You will fail...
"Just watch me..." were his only reply, as he readied himself and went ot shoulder the mirror.

Wrapping up and going home -
Aurora woke with a start..most of his dreams were always fuzzy when he awoke. He could only recal vauge images and details but somehow he felt that something had been resolved.
Looking around he saw his gang mates and felt suddenly distant from them. He needed to go home. He didn't belong here. Writing out a small note he picked up his belongings and tried his best to determine his route home.
It didn't take long...he hitched a ride back to the rode he could vaguely remember stumbling upon weeks back. Now all he had to do was go back the way he came...
It was interesting...as he pulled himself free of the brambles how he thought about his first time coming from this direction and how everything had changed and yet...remained the same.
The end.
