Because I noticed no one else has done this yet, I thought I would.
In your opinion, which is better: YuGiOh or YuGiOh GX?
Which points appeal to you?
Which don't?
Why?
Since I started the thread, I suppose I should answer my own questions.
I, personally, prefer the original...because the original is always better. (All right, with a few exceptions.)
I like the characters and the dialogue, because they seem very realistic. If spirits trapped in jewelry for thousands of years and all that sort of thing were real, that's sort of how I think they might act.
The plotline is a little repetitive. I don't like that so much. But it can still be interesting.
You don't have to answer all the questions if you don't want to, but I'm attempting to start a discussion of some kind.

You have good points there. GX is good but no as deep as the origanal. The dules are much shorter but they are just as well played. They just lack the dialog that the origanl put in. We learned more about the charactors throw the dules in Yu-Gi-Oh than in GX, but~ the charactors in GX are kids without a lot of dark past so there really is much to talk about in the dules... I do like the thought of the accademy though and I do like the charactors it just takes longer for them to really feel "real"/ more rounded. Both have elements that I my slef can relate to. Like how in the begaining Yugi wanted friends, and wonce he got them he'd do anything for them. Jounouchi dosen't have a good life, he's dirt poor and he dosen't let it get to him. Anzu dreams of being a dancer and fallows that dream with all her heart and soul. like me and my dream of being a manga-ka.
Then there's GX. the charactors aren't quite as flushed out as the Yu-Gi-Oh cast. They're high school students and are defining who they are. that's what I like of the charactors from GX that and they're insain xd
now that I've said this big huge long parragraph, I'd like people to know we need tearchers and people worthy of being Obolisk blue over in the accademy.

Who on earth voted that GX is better than YGO? GX is corney, the people are shallow and have no pasts to speak of, there is hardly any plot...
I love the show, watch it every day, but it's no comparison to YGO. There are parts of it that shine, like Jun's slight insanity and Judai's kind heart but it's harder to relate to and harder to work with in the fandom. Any pairings that look obvious it seems like the show went out of it's way to discredit. Alexis/Zane: Alexis is constantly hovering over Judai like a crushing school girl. Judai/Sho: Sho is constantly smitten with any girl that crosses his path - duel monsters included. Jun/Judai: Jun is always blushing when Alexis is around. It gets pathetic and they never bothered to do that with YGO. And as to their ages, the cast of YGO were the same age when the series started. When Yugi was Judai's age he was dealing with a dark personality, friends with homicidal tendancies, and a classmate trying to do him in with an elaborate theme park.

..Hm I like YGO better, but I can't put a good debate on worth a poo. because I don't watch GX but hhmm.
....Its just not the same with out the milinium(SP?) items, plus all the really really evil people. you just can't match Yami Marik with anybody, his vain popping evilness is is beyond comparasin. Plus in GX there are no guys with mulit-colored hair, I miss the multi-colored hair! Plus the duels are itty bitty in time frame compared to YGOs 4 or 5 episode long duels (which I love XD). Plus that teacher lady/man thing with the blond hair and wrinkles out of GX scares me.

Sorry to mention the character depth (or lack thereof) again...but I want better characters in GX! The ones they have are OK, but I want better ones. biggrin I've been spoiled by the kind of anime I usually watch... heart
