Nyota'ausi had a very interesting night. She had knocked out the flamboyant Mafujo, for he had started to swing in a way that Nyota wasn't quite sure she liked. It was interesting that someone would actually want her that way, as she never held herself up to any eteem whatsoever, but it was also a little chilling to know that there were two personalities in the body of whome you fancied a bit. She wanted a little more time to think about it, thus giving herself time.
After she had knocked Mafujo out, she left him where he was, after nudging him into a place that kept him hidden, but also kept him looking like he was asleep instead of out cold. She wanted some time to think on her own, and that usually included her wandering around. Her mind worked better when hre paws were moving. Night had fallen, and she had seemed to find too many things in one night. A little genet that needed something of a mother (to which she couldn't ignore, and thus had something to care for, as well as herself), a maned wolf that was looking for a friend of hers that abandonded her (happily looking for that friend, she might add), and of all things, a goddess! The goddess had seemingly given her the advice she needed, and though it didn't outwardly settle with the brown lioness well, for some reason, it just...felt right. Something about that goddess made Nyota feel like she was something of a mother figure then anything...she hoped to see the goddess again one day.
But now her attention turned to the one that she had harmed in the late evening of the other day. She wondered if he was awake yet. Slowly crawling up to his form, she kept herself as quiet as could be, the little genet she had picked up quiet as well, peeking over her shoulder. Was he awake, and if he was, was he okay? She did hit him kind of hard....

Surprisingly, or even a bit not, the gray creature did not stir while the female was drifting over his form. Mafujo had awakened quite a bit later to the fleeting scent of the female, and decided to let Amri take control, knowing full well just how much it would mess with the male's mind. Always one to take away the love and family of Amri, Mafujo usually took control and waited until the last second before giving Amri back, a good way to dement the hell out of his weaker half.
Waking up to a surprised form, he found no blood, but found no Nyota either. It took only a second for his mind to assume, and suddenly the male got quite angry, and tore up the area before he was out of breath. Clawmarks marred the trees and dirt, as if a scuffle was around, and the male collapsed right in the same spot hours later, his soft pink eyes closing with a frown going across his maw. Amri thought of the worst when Mafujo came out, and only could assume the other ran Nyota off, or mated with her unwilling. It was always the same.
So, as he slumbered, sweat brushed his pelt and his breathing was irregular just slightly. Shifting once, he rolled over as his slight mane fell into his view, and as his eyes opened and blinked, all he could see was silver.

Nyota had only just noticed that the place where she had left him was a mess. Everything was torn, dirt was everywhere, and Amri wasn't yet moving. She gave off a small panic, just enough that the little genet slipped down her back, and almost off her rump.
Not wanting to seem too panicked, Nyota did her best to hold her breath still, but things like this were much easier said then done for the little lioness.
"Amri? Are.....are you okay?" She wanted so desperately to scan over his body, make sure he wasn't bleeding anywhere. Not that she'd know how to stop it, but she would still worry nonetheless.
"Amri....please..."

Blinking slowly to clear his eyes, the male groaned before leaning his head to the side, a sigh escaping his maw. It was as if he didn't hear Nyota, but after a second his eyes widened and he suddenly jumped up, almost ramming into the other before he looked her all over.
"Nyota! You're alright!" With that said he moved close but caught himself at the last second, so cuaght up in his joy that he nearly rammed into her to pounce like any young cub would do.
"I..." He softened, "I didn't do anything to you...did I?" Looking to her, his eyes were soft and worried, trying to make sure that she tell the truth, and yet hoping she told him no and that Mafujo did not show himself and he just happened to be in a deep sleep.
"Please tell me you are alright..."

Nyota flushed as he jumped up, nearly ramming heads with her. Was he...concered about her?
"N-no, he didn't do anything to me..." she said bashfully as she drew herself back and away from Amri. "B-but...I did give him...you...a big smack across the head. So...I'm sorry if I hurt you."
The little genet crawled up from her rump and back between her shoulder, bright green eyes looking at Amri. His ears perked as he heard about Ny smacking this big brute. Wow, his Ny was strong, then! He didn't say a word though, just slunk a bit inbetween her shoulder blades. Ny said that her companion was odd, so he didn't want to get too close to soon. And Ny was comfy, he didn't want to get down and onto the rough, dry grasses. Maybe if he hid, the other, this Amri, wouldn't notice him...
Not giving much attention to the genet, she gingerly let her eyes meet up with his, still a little skiddish at the fact that she had hit him. She hoped it would go over well, but Mafujo had gotten a little out of line. "Mafujo...kind of got a little carried away, and it was the only way I knew how to make him stop. I...I didn't think it would work...though." Her eyes dropped back down to the ground as she suffled one of her forepaws. She was definately being shy, in a cute manner right now.

A ghost of a smile crossed his maw at the mention of her hurting him, and he nodded slowly, "Good...if Mafujo comes out again, do that right away, alright," He whispered seriously, fear tinting his eyes and not leaving. As she went on, he failed to notice the creature in her shoulders, too distracted with her to mind or worry for the matter.
"Carried away?" He asked after, before moving to her side, "He didn't touch you...did he...or try to take you somewhere private...please tell me he did-" Cut off, his eyes caught sight of the genet at last, and he blinked in surprise at the frail little creature that curled on her back. Tilting his head, he didn't have the knowlage of the small one being there before, and slowly he turned back to look questioningly at Nyota.
"Where have you been? I woke up and thought...you were dead..." It was soft, quite soft.

Nyota, a little more worried about the fact that he might of given his head quite the bump, tried her bes tto shrug off what Mafujo had done. Why really worry about something when it was in the past? But....if Amri wanted to know, she'd tell him.
Giving off a small sigh, she began letting Amri know about what had happened yesterday.
"Well...he um....wanted to take me somewhere, and I kind of led him up to it for a moment. That is, until he wasn't quite paying attention, and I laid him...you...one right across the head." She giggles lightly at that, but more so out of embarassment then anything. "I...I still feel back for hitting him. Because I'm sure you've got a bump on your head somewhere..."
She motioned to move closer to him, to inspect him. If she did leave a bump, she'd feel terrible over it, even if Amri gave her permission to smack Mafujo again.
She didn't catch the last question he asked her, for she was much too intent on trying to get a good look at his head.

Nodding as she explained what happened, he was happy she caught his other half off gaurd, though it did explain the headache he woke with the night before. However, as she moved closer and seemingly ignored his question, he dodged her probing to send a serious look her way.
"Don't feel bad for Mafujo, he is a monster, and any time he comes out, you must knock him out at all costs...he could kill you Nyota...and...and I don't want you to die...not at my own paws." Looking sadly to his paws when mentioning them, he was surprised to see no blood, but still the memories were there.
"And do not worry, I am fine now, and you did what you had to do...so please, don't worry over me." Sending her a shaky smile, he decided to ask again, "Where did you go last night?"

Nyota took a step back and sat down, looking at Amri with a bit of question in her face. She felt her little genet slide right down her back and land at the base of her tail. She gave a little giggle when he heard her grunt, and scooped him up, bringing him towards her to rest between her forelegs. He was obviously grumby that his ride ended so suddenly, and gave a little sulky look to the leopard, thinking it was his fault.
She didn't know what to say when Amri mentioned Mafujo killing her, for she didn't feel like he would at all, not when he was in control. So instead of just stumbling over what to say, she chose not to mention him again. Not in that context.
"After....after I knocked Mafujo out, I wanted some time alone, so I wandered around the lands, to calm my nerves. I ended up finding this little guy, all alone," she patted the genet on his head, getting a little childish growl in return. "So I decided to take him in, just until he can learn how to take care of himself."
She didn't want to mention the maned wolf, since there really wasn't anything to mention about her. She had just guided her towards the pridelands, nothing more or less. The goddess....was something that Nyota wanted to keep to herself. She felt like it was some secret treasure, and deem it special enough to keep it that way.
"I didn't realise that the night was so short, and...I think that's why I was not here when you awoke...I'm...sorry." She paused, before questioning him about the torn trunk of the tree that was near them. "Did...did something attack you when I was gone?" She lowered her head a bit, feeling ashamed. Not that she would of been able to do much, but it didn't lessen the feelings she had about not being here in a time of crisis.

Catching the look, Amri faltered a moment before putting weight on his forepaws. The legs dragging on the ground, he slid to his belly and settled his head on his paws, just blinking back to the small creature with a seepish look.
"I...am sorry if I frightened you...I tend to do that with my other half..." Trailing off, he looked up with only his eyes to the lioness, before his smile faded and he let out a very deep sigh. His eyes darted down to look at his paws once more, a sign of deep thought and nerves that always took on his body when he was around others.
"Nyota...I wish not to speak of my strange halves today...soon I will be ready to explain, because you deserve that much and need to know to prepaire yourself. But for now...I just would like to revel in the fact that you survived...when so many others could not..." The last part so soft, he moved to stand and looked at her, before moving quickly and yet bashfully to her side. Not used to these actions in a long time, he paused again before slowly, he moved to brush his cheek against her shoulder, and rested it there in a silent moment.
"I am so glad you survived...so glad..." He felt the emotion surge, knowing that this female did what no others could, she lived and still was his friend. Other attachments would be killed or ran off by his dark side, but she insisted to stay, to keep trying, "Thank you..."

Nyota's ears swiveled forward and back, just wondering why he asked about what she did last night. Was it because...he thought that she left, and felt guilty in coming back?
The little genet only looked at the leopard with his bright green eyes, giving a little bod before seemingly clinging onto the leg of Nyota. He wasn't scared, but he didn't quite like what they were talking about. It all seemed so serious, and he was quite sick of serious.
Nyota didn't quite understand just what he was saying, not completely. She could sympathise with the fact that he didn't want to talk about Mafujo...as she herself wouldn't want to talk much about a different side of her soul.
She flushed when Amri rested his head on her shoulder. Not used to contact from another at all, she grew a bit stiff, not sure as what to do. Her mind was soon more focused on what he said though, so she softened as she spoke to him.
"Y-your welcome," she said, albeit awkwardly. She didn't quite understand why he reveled at her living, for she hadn't felt as if her life was in danger, just a piece of her was. Nor did she understand why he was thanking her...Amri was her friend, right? So she wouldn't abandon him just over what, in her mind was one little thing.

Pleased with her response, he decided a swift change in subject was in need, along with a bit more attention on something else besides Mafujo.
"Nyota, would you like to go hunting? I am sure both you and your friend are hungry...or hopefully are, though if you are not, I can go on my own," He was very much hungry, and only wanted to make sure Nyota was close by just in case, more scared to lose her now than he was before Mafujo came. She was proof that he wasn't as bad as he thought, proof that there was still good left in his life. Hopefully she wouldn't mind staying.
"That is...if you don't mind joining me on my travels...and your own..." Heat prickling his cheeks, he lowered his head in a flush before seepishly smiling and looking away. Had he really only just met her?

Nyota glanced over at him, her dusty-rose eyes meeting his striking pink ones. She gave a shy smile, and dropped her eyes to the ground, noticing that Kibeti's bright green eyes looked up at her in return. He was most likely hungry, too. Nyota was used to not eating for a while, ut a full stomache might be good for her.
Her head slowly raised up to meet his, and gave him a careful smile. "I am...not the best at hunting, but perhaps if it's the two of us we can get something for all three of us."
Kibeti scrambled up onto her back as she gave another dip of her head, and turned to ready to leave. "Well, I knew I'd have to leave these lands one day....but, it might be a little hard for me." She said with a light touch of sorrow in her voice. "But I'm sure it won't be too hard if you have the patience to be with me, Amri."
She swished her tail as an invitation for the two of them to make their way towards the herds, and find something for an early lunch.
