Finally! That couple that had enslaved her had finally gotten off her case. Sure, it had taken a few weeks of innocent behavior, but it had all finally paid off. Both of her 'alphas' had gone off on a hunt and Kiah had been free to roam where ever she wished. That rat Kirra or whoever certainly didn't have any guts to stop her with. At least, she was too busy taking care to some sickly male. Hmph, what a wimp.

Strolling along easily, the overly confident princess passed over the boundary of her captors' packlands--she'd never see them again--and on into what she suspected were called the freelands or something like that.

"Easy as breathing," she told herself as she ventured further and further away from the lands she had been kept as a slave in.

"Now to find some breakfast." It was amazing, she had actually taken to hunting. She didn't really like the blood on her fur, but she figured getting messy was worth being able to tear something to shreds. Grinning to herself at the thought of sinking her teeth into some innocent creature's throat, she broke into a steady trot. Yes, breakfast sounded good...

There was something unforgetable about meat. A taste that you could find in nothing else. And once you started craving that taste you wouldn't be cured until you had successfully got it at its finest source.

Xipetotec stood savoring his kill as blood dripped down his maw. He'd woken up early that morning with a brimming anger and chasing down a nursing doe in the early morning mist left him revitalized. It just felt fresh.

Bracing a paw against the torso Xipe tore a patch of flesh from the doe's neck and chewed it delightedly.

Hunger ebbing the male searched for a place to leave the remains. There was a good deal of them. He stopped at the base of a tree and began to dig. It would take a while to bury it, but he'd be damned if something else was going to profit from his work.

Kiah had the same exact craving as the ear-less wolf: fine meat. She had eaten something absolutely delicious recently, and she was itching to get her paws on some more. It was a sort of blood thirst, and it hightened her senses, making her more alert and ready to take down prey.

Yet then she scented something on the air and suddenly she knew that she wouldn't have to hunt for herself any time soon. Or at least she thought that in her mind. To her, she was powerful and could get anything she wanted. All her time as a 'slave' had done nothing to change her prissy princess ways from earlier on in her life.

So, confident that she'd be able to take this kill from whatever lowlife held it, the magenta wolfess stalked foward, her eyes narrowed and saliva nearly dripping from her mouth in anticipation.

Eventually she came upon some strange-looking wolf digging in the dirt. Burying his kill? What a strange thing to do. She would have just eaten it all right there. It didn't matter if she got bloated or anything. Meat was something rare and had to be kept close, not buried by some tree.

"Hey, rat, you know someone can just come and dig that up," she said in her snobbish voice. But then she realized... this wolf had no ears. She laughed.

While the arrival of the new wolf would have been quite difficult to miss it was some time before Xipe noticed her. Indeed he had been focused on his digging. Catching a glimpse of an unusual color for the scenery he grumbled and glared at the female with a muzzle covered in dirt. "What do you want woman?"

Dirt rotten good for nothing meal stealers. Female none the less! Typical typical. Couldn't trust a girl for anything these days! It was because they had privledges, he believed. He'd heard stories about how that sex should behave. Obedient and quiet. But some idiot had to go out and let them have equal opportunity. What a load of good that had done!

She was such a peculiar color though. Odd but then again wolves around here seemed to be more colorful than back home. Breeding like rabbits and producing the randomest things. Bunch of idiots. It would take someone like him to fix this place, and it would take even him quite some time.

Kiah merely stood there for a few minutes, grinning like an idiot. She seemd to find it amusing that this wolf seriously had no ears. It was just something unheard of in her world, and so it was like she was having a hard time actually comprehending the matter yet at the same time she knew it was true and laughed at it. It was a very strange thing.

When he asked her what she wanted, she simply stood there, grinning and shaking her head. She didn't want to talk because she didn't think he'd be able to understand. He had no ears! She actually thought it a little stupid for him to be asking her questions anyways. She just thought he couldn't understand her.

And so she merely stood there, grinning.

Xipe shook his head and glared fiercely at her. What the hell was her deal? Could she only grin? Another prime reason females should be equal to slaves, they were so stupid.

"Idiot. If you're just going to stand and grin go stand and do it somewhere else." She must have been a hobo. Getting her kicks from silly little things. He assumed she found his lack of ears amusing. Well great for her, wasn't she clever.

Gruffly he took a step towards her and bristled. Wenches these days. There really was no use keeping them around.

Kiah's amusement lasted all up until he called her an idiot then stepped forward and bristled. Despite being a loner and being a banished princess, she still considered herself higher than most. How dare this fiend make such a gesture towards her!

Folding her ears back angrily, she took a step away from him. (Though she acted tough, she really was just a pansy.) She pulled her lips back from her lips and lowered her head down a little, covering her soft and vulnerable throat. She let a bit of a growl escape her lips, but she knew that it meant nothing to the earless wonder.

"Don't you step towards me you little rat!" she snapped, her tail bristling defensively. She really needed anger management classes.

"And you don't tell me what to do. I can think for myself just fine. And sheesh, can't you take a damn joke?!"

Xipetotec's frown faltered a moment at her reaction. He was rather pleased. Aside from his episode with Meskeet he rarely attacked females. They weren't worth his effort. Least of all this cranky one.

The height in his shoulders alone allowed him to stand above her, his naturally bulky body only helped. Not bulky in a fat sense, more so just there. If he had been a person someone would have simply said he was big. Which worked out nicely for him. You couldn't lack ear and be small. What would be the point?

"I can do what I'd like. And you need to learn better jokes. They suck so far." For such a generally average to low intelligence wolf, he was quite good at figuring out what others said.

It completely confused Kiah on how this rat figured out what on earth she had said to him, but she ignored it for now. Instead she focused on winning over this male. He couldn't win. Not now and not ever. She was better than him, and she would prove it. The only problem was that she wasn't as skillful as she led herself to believe.

"My jokes are fine. It's just your sense of humor that seems to be broken," she snapped back, ignoring his comment about how he could do whatever he wanted. Sure, he could, so long as it didn't interfere with her wishes.

In the process of snapping back at him, she had taken a small step forward. That step, it seemed, made her realize just what she was going up against physically. She was a bad fighter to begin with, and it wouldn't do her any good if she got into a scuffle with this rock.

"Anyways, I have better things to do," she mumbled, turning herself so that her side was facing him, acting as if she were going to leave. "Thanks for ruining my day."

On no she didn't. Xipe wasn't about to lose to some stupid girl! And he thought his sense of humor was just fine, thankyouverymuch.

Bristling he bumped against her shoulder as she turned from him. Had he possessed ears they would have been pressed quite flatly against his head, but alas he didn't so all he could do was glare challengingly down at her. Lowering his head he stepped to the side and flicked his tail.

"Where do you think you're going? You owe me an appology." Brat.

He wasn't totally in to the whole emotional thing, but getting an appology from someone like her would be sooo satisfactory. Who did she think she was? Better than him? Certainly not!

The bump from Xipe came somewhat as a surprise. No one had ever really touched her before, and she certainly didn't like it starting now. This brute would pay for daring to touch her precious fur.

"I'm getting away from you, you crazy rat!" she growled, her ears pressed back firmly against her skull in anger as she took a side-step away from him. She really didn't like the fact that he had touched her so easily. He wouldn't get away with it again, though, she'd make sure of that.

"And I don't owe you anything. You started it." Ah, the old 'you started it no you started it'.. thing. It was really lame and childish, but this male had really made her mad and she simply couldn't come up with anything else to say. So, she resorted to the first thing that came to mind.

"Now, if you'll excuse me!" she snapped, turning again to go. If he touched her one more time...

But he did.

Utterly indignant Xipe couldn't help but shove her lightly, not enough to knock her down or anything. He started it? Hardly! "Don't be stupid. You're the one who came up all annoying-like."

And how dare she turn from him?

She'd been the one to bother him in the first place! What did he care if she left? IDIOT GIRLS! He hadn't invited her, so her leaving wasn't exactly anything cunning. Even he knew that. And he was an idiot.

That last touch was just about enough to shove the magenta female over the edge. Her fur bristled to the maximum as she flicked her tail in aggrivation. If it were even possible, her ears were pressed farther down against her skull as she snarled and nipped dangerously close to his neck.

"Don't you ever touch me again. EVER," she breathed, her head lowering to cover her vulnerable neck again. For some reason, she felt as if a scuffle lay in await for the two, and she didn't want to enter it unprepared.

"And maybe if you hadn't been such an earless freak I wouldn't have stumbled upon you in the first place. It's your own fault." A stupid and particularly lame accusation, but whatever. She really didn't care at this point. Her anger was just flared up so much that she was blind to all reality. All she could see was him and his crossing the boundary that was her personal space.

Inconsiderate whelp.

Xipetotec watched her in silence for a few minutes. A bird flew anxiously from it's perch in a nearby tree before he finally grinned darkly down towards the female. She'd only proved his point.

Shaking his head despite how close he'd come to actually getting bit he examined her, angry face and all, and turned to leave.

Let her think she was scary. Let her think she was something. He'd still won. Atleast he figured he had.

Disappearing into the trees, which was rather hard for one with a coat such as his, Xipetotec shook his head.

Girls were so predictable.

Kiah glared back at the male, ears back against her skull and tail stiff to relfect her anger. She really had control issues with her emotions, and it seemed that he had pressed all the right buttons to get her ticked off. She didn't like it. Not one bit. It was strange for her, and she didn't like strange. He would pay for what he did.

Yet when he turned to leave and actually did leave, she found herself feeling a bit surprised and disappointed. She had thought there would have been some major drama there or something. But instead he just walks off? What a wimp.

Blowing out loudly from her nose, the female shook her head then trotted off in the opposite direction.

Great, now her day was ruined.
