Band Bio. The third blink-182 LP, Dude Ranch, was jointly released in 1997 by Cargo and MCA. Dude Ranch expanded the group's audience and went platinum by the end of 1998, due in part to the popularity of their infectious teen anthem, "Dammit (Growing Up)." The group also signed officially with MCA, which released the band's fourth album, Enema of the State, in the summer of 1999. The album, produced by Jerry Finn (Green Day, Rancid), also welcomed a new member into the trio's ranks; Travis Barker, formerly with the Aquabats, settled in on drums after Raynor left midway through a 1998 U.S. tour. Enema was greeted with almost immediate success, and helped the band achieve the mainstream status of toilet-humored pop-punk kings that Dude Ranch had only hinted at. Driven by the commercially successful singles "What's My Age Again?," "All The Small Things," and "Adam's Song," music videos for the three songs (whose clips included themes of streaking and boy band spoofs) were MTV smashes as well.
After selling over four million copies of Enema of the State, the trio played on with the limited-edition release The Mark, Tom, and Travis Show (The Enema Strikes Back) in fall 2000. The album featured the band's radio hits in a live setting, intertwined with their quirky sense of humor as well as the new song "Man Overboard." Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, issued in spring 2001, saw the band return to their SoCal punk rock roots. Maturity, of a sort, came with 2003's self-titled album, released on Geffen. Not only did the album sport a song ("All of This") that featured Robert Smith of the Cure, but "I Miss You" also topped the modern rock charts in 2005.
In February 2005, however, popular as ever and seemingly indestructible, blink-182 unexpectedly announced they would be going on an "indefinite hiatus," supposedly to spend more time with their growing families. Asking fans for help in selecting tracks, the group issued Greatest Hits that November. Bandmembers also continued on with other projects: Barker -- who had previously released an album with DeLonge as Boxcar Racer -- continued playing with the Transplants and running his clothing company, Famous Stars and Straps. His family was also spotlighted in the MTV reality show Meet the Barkers. Hoppus carried on with his Atticus fashion venture, began producing -- starting with Motion City Soundtrack's Commit This to Memory -- and hosting his own podcasts. He further began work with Barker in a new band, Plus 44. DeLonge also continued work with his lifestyle clothing company, Macbeth, and formally announced his new project, Angels and Airwaves, that fall.

Band members. Blink-182 consists of Mark Hoppus, Tom Delonge and Travis Barker, and formally Adam Raynor. Adam left the band and was replaced by Travis.
Mark [Bass Guitar] was born on March 15, 1972, in California. When he was 14. his parents divorced and he went to live with his dad in Washington. His dad gave him his first bass and amp when he was 15, in return for helping to paint his house. He origionally wanted to be a highschool english teacher. Mark has the least number of tatoos/piercings in the band, with just a n****e ring and his left ear pierced. He used to smoke, but doesn't anymore.
Tom [Guitar] was born on December 13, 1975, in San Diego. Ever since he was young, he has believed that aliens exist. He got a computer solely for the purpose of looking up internet sites about aliens. While he was growing up, Tom was used to hard work. He spent time working on a construction site, and also at Gary's Chicken and Ribbs in his hometown, Poway. He appeared in the movie Idle Hngs as a fast food employee, and got to say 1 line.
Travis [drummer] was born on November 14, 1975. He has been playing the drums ever since he was young, and got his first drum set as a young boy. He is a highly skilled drummer, and has played in a wide variety of bands before joining blink. He was previously with the ska band, 'the aquabats', where he played under the name 'Travis Baron von Tito'. He has tatoos and piecings all over his body, which have a lot of meaning to him. He also runs his own shop called 'Famous Stars and Straps'.

OTHER BANDS FORMED FROM BLINK 182 MEMBERS.Box Car Racer Box Car Racer was a side-project created by Tom DeLonge of blink-182. While blink took a break in 2002, DeLonge formed Box Car Racer to experiment with and record ideas he felt were not "blink-friendly". DeLonge soon enlisted Travis Barker, stating that he didn't want to pay for a studio drummer.
David Kennedy from Hazen Street completed the trio and an eponymous album Box Car Racer was recorded in 2002. DeLonge did all the bass work for the album, but Anthony Celestino was their touring bass player. Guests on the album included Mark Hoppus from blink-182, Tim Armstrong from Rancid and Jordan Pundik from New Found Glory.
DeLonge and Barker claim the group was heavily influenced by Dischord Emo, citing influences such as Rites of Spring, Fugazi and later era post hardcore bands such as Quicksand.

1. "I Feel So" 2. "All Systems Go" 3. "Watch the World" 4. "Tiny Voices" 5. "Cat Like Thief" (featuring Tim Armstrong and Jordan Pundik) 6. "And I" 7. "Letters to God" 8. "My First Punk Song" 9. "Sorrow" 10. "There Is" 11. "The End with You" 12. "Elevator" (featuring Mark Hoppus) 13. "Instrumental" Boxcar Racer VideosThere IsI Feel SoAngels And Airwaves According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, DeLonge trademarked the name "Angels and Airwaves" on June 24, 2005 amidst the lingering confusion of blink-182's abruptly announced "indefinite hiatus". DeLonge quickly recruited friends and fellow musicians David Kennedy, Ryan Sinn and Atom Willard to round out the band's roster.
In addition to the corresponding release of the album, the band is currently working on a movie involving the band's music. The World War II-based movie is being created primarily through the use of CGI. This "story" is apparently based upon Tom's life and will give viewers insight into the hiatus of blink-182. Currently, the only known cast member is Michael Ostman.

1. "Valkyrie Missile" 2. "Distraction" 3. "Do It For Me Now" 4. "The Adventure" 5. "A Little's Enough" 6. "The War" 7. "The Gift" 8. "It Hurts" 9. "Good Day" 10. "Start The Machine"
Although many critics have slightly panned the album as a failure to meet expectations, very few critics have honored the album for being more unique, fresh and different from most alternative categories. It has officially started the division between many Blink 182 fans due to the fact that many feel some of the songs, such as 'Valkyrie Missle, Distraction and The War' are long considering long intros to expand the running time and to meet De'Longe's hype. The album is recieved as a crittical success to most fans alone, being familiar with the music upon release while a few fans think the album doesn't even deserve to be compared to their past music because it does not seem to live to Tom's standards.
On average, the album has recieved a strong amount of postitive and negative reviews from both critics and fans. Ever since the relase date of WDNTW, fans have come across the fact that the album has changed the perspective of many and their has been split between both sides of Angels & Airwaves and (+44). Angels & Airwaves videosThe AdventureDo It For Me NowValykrie Missle [not official, but really cool]Distraction [live + Tom talking before the song](+44) (+44) (pronounced "Plus Forty Four") are an alternative rock band formed by former blink-182 members Mark Hoppus (bass and vocals) and Travis Barker (drums and keyboards). Also playing in the band are former Transplants touring guitarist Craig Fairbaugh and the lead guitarist of The Nervous Return, Shane Gallagher.
The history of (+44) starts in February of 2005, when Hoppus' and Barker's band blink-182 went on an indefinite hiatus, due to fellow member Tom Delonge's departure of the band. Both Hoppus and Barker wanted to keep working on music, and started writing and recording new songs together in Barker's basement and Hoppus' dining room and living room. The name (+44) is a reference to the international dialing code for the United Kingdom, where Hoppus and Barker first discussed the new project. Originally, the two were using electronic drums, keyboards, samples and direct computer recording.
While working on demos, the two invited punk rock vocalist Carol Heller to sing a song. Satisfied with her performence, the three kept working on other songs also. On spring of 2005, guitarist Shane Gallagher joined to play guitar. Back then, Gallagher and Hoppus were both playing guitar.
In October of 2005, Barker and Hoppus purchased a studio. According to Hoppus, this move marked a "turning point for (+44)", as the band started working in that studio exclusively, and was finally able to play live drums and loud guitars and vocals. The electronic element of the band became less prominent, but still a key element of the band's sound. By that time Heller found she did not fit well with the band's new direction, and coupled with her desire to start her family, Heller left the band. Hoppus also insists that there are no hard feelings between (+44) and herself, and that they (the band) are in full support of her decision.
The band kept working on their first record, and at a certain point ("About 3/4 of the way through the record" according to Hoppus), Craig Fairbaugh joined to play second guitar and backup vocals.(+44) DiscographyThere is currently a working title that is set to come out November 14, 2006, called "When your heart stop beating".
Edited: 11/11/06
