I'm bored. So it's time for a random competition thing!
After like 10 people post, we'll see the winners.
Everybody lists what pokemon they think is the best of that type. Don't just pick your favorites, but instead pick the strongest one you can think of, or something like that.
If you list a legendary as the best of that type, please list a non-legendary too.
The three Kanto birds, Johto creatures, and the Regis are not legendary. Neither are Latios or Latias.
ZOMG my list:
Bug--Heracross
Scizor comes close, but Heracross has better moves.
Dark--Tyranitar
Obvious. It can even beat Mewtwo if it tries.
Dragon--Rayquaza and Salamence
Rayquaza is uber, and Salamence is ridiculously good too.
Electric--Electabuzz
Elemental Punches and Cross Chop. Squee.
Fighting--Machamp
Hitmonlee has better Speed and Special Defense, but Machamp is well rounded. Four arms look cool too.
Fire--Magmar
Most Fire types have high Attack and can't really use Fire attacks much. Magmar can though. ThunderPunch, FTW.
Flying--TOO MANY. ARGH. Lugia and Salamence.
Lugia is really cheap, since he can take so many hits and dish out the pain too. Salamence, I stated above.
Ghost--Dusclops
"ZOMG WHY NOT GENGAR". Dusclops has little to no attack or speed, but his defenses rival Lugia. I'm not kidding.
Grass--Sceptile
Pure Grass. Crunch. Dragon Claw. Totally awesome.
Ground--Swampert
Powerful, cool looking, and generally spiffy. Sorry Steelix.
Ice--Regice
It. Won't. Die. Ever.
Normal--Snorlax
Fatty. Better than Slaking because it doesn't have Truant.
Poison--There's like three or four totally great ones. I choose....Muk
Ask Maruna. Curse + Muk=Fun
Psychic--Mewtwo and Gardevoir
Mewtwo is the strongest pokemon, in my opinion. Alakazam and Espeon are close, but Gardevoir has better moves than Espeon, and better defenses than Alakazam.
Rock--Tyranitar
So close Aerodactyl. But poor Aerodactyl is a teeny bit too fragile. Plus, Tyranitar looks like Godzilla. Rawr. :B
Steel--Metagross
See my reasons for Salamence above. Except add defenses.
Water--MORE THAN FLYING. BLARGH. Kyogre and Milotic
Suicune, Swampert, Kingdra, Vaporeon, Slowbro, and like five others are great too. Milotic edges it out with Recover and its cheap ability, methinks. Barely.

Wow! You mentioned me! As much as I would love to say Muk, There are better ones. It could be the best defensivly though. Curse and Acid Armor? Only too cool. So Metagross looks like Godzilla, "RAWR"? I never saw that Godzilla movie. It doesn't even cut it as mecha godzilla.
