Nyota had returned from leading the maned wolf towards the pridelands, only to find that indeed, Amri wasn't here. Was she just going senile already or what? The little genet was still asleep, thankfully. She didn't want him to see her a bit panicked, and thus kept on roaming the lands, looking for her companion.
That is, until a whirl of wind near a tree nearly made Nyota loose her footing. Just what was that? Upon further inspection, she found something...quite amazing.
A goddess laid under the tree, her gold coat shimmering in the moonlight, almost as if she had gold specks across her fur. Her long, long wings were draped over her body, and stretched out far past her body. The swirls of gold that climbed up her legs showed a very lithe, graceful form. The goddess had a mane of her own, but nothing like Nyota had ever seen. it did not grow like a males, but it was much longer then a zebra's. It cascaded down the goddess' neck, which began to turn towards Nyota.
The lioness was nervous, but the goddess let out such a soft, motherly presence that Nyota didn't feel fear, or nothing like it. It was more like a soothing feeling, that this was someone that cared for others, and in turn would help the mortals that would find her.

The goddess had descended from the God's Haven, and found herself in these lands that had nearly no life to them. it concerned her, so she would wait a time, and hopefully attract a resident nearby, and question them about it. If there was anything that her wind could bring, she would gladly do it for the better of these lands.
The goddess' patience was abundant, which was a very good thing, for when she descended, it was just past sun fall, and she didn't attract a mortal until false dawn had begun to rise.
She mildly glanced over to where the mortal was, wondering just what her wind had brought her. Her silver eyes gazed upon a very dull-coloured lioness, one that seemed very malnourished, which concerned the goddess. Noticing that there was a healty, yet small genet upon her back brought her spirits back up, for perhaps this lioness was caring for this genet, which could explain why she was so slim.
"Hello, dear one," the goddess' voice drifted off like a light, comforting breeze, crystal clear. "May I assume that you live in these lands?"

Nyota shivered as the soft voice of the goddess, and also at the fact that she looked...blatently ugly next to this ethreal wonder. She hoped that the little genet would stay asleep, so as that she could keep this in her mind as something she dreamed up.
A goddess! She had found a goddess, a regal being just living in the drab lands that the lioness called home. It was something that was almost too much for her to handle.
With a shakey steop forward, she nodded. "Y-yes, I live...I live in these lands. H-have for quite some time." She did her best to keep herself still as the goddess' silver-gleaming eyes pierced into Nyota's dusty-rose toned ones.

The goddess raised her head in a regal position, noticing that though the mortal was conforted by her aura, she was still nervous. "There's nothing to worry about," she cooed softly. "I am just intrigued that someone can live in lands so lacking in life as this."
She wasn't meaning to demean the lands, or belittle them, but she was used to lands that were full of greenery, herd of beasts roaming, foraging for the food that surrounded them. Fat predators, many birds singing happily, gliding on her winds that she brought to them so willingly.
"Come near me, I have a question to ask you."
She withdrew one of her wings, inviting the other to join her, if only for a time.
"You lay lay with me, if you wish, or staying there is perfectly granted."

Nyota gave the goddess a deep bow before inching closer. She neared as close as she dared, not wanting to get too close to the ethreal being. Just seeing the stunning goddess was enough for Nyota, but being invited to be so close...was almost overwhelming.
"W-what is it that you are curious about, goddess?" She studdered through. Stay calm, stay calm....she was talking with this goddess, and she was talking to Nyota as if they were almost even!
Kibeti stirred quietly, feeling his pillow tense up quite a bit. His golden eyes blinked open slowly as he yawned, wondering just what Ny was up to. He peered over her shoulder and saw a winged lion. Not knowing anything about gods, he figured that it was just something else he'd never seen before. And while normally he'd be interested, he was much too tired to really care, and thus curled up again, and fell back asleep.

The goddes gave a slight bow, thanking the mortal for nearing here. "Do not worry, it wn't be painful." She let out a soft, loving laugh. "I am mainly just curious on how you live in these lands, so drab and dry as they are.
"But let me introduce myself, for if I didn't, it would be incredibly rude. I am Mdhamana'kinyamkela, but you are free to call me Mana. I am the Goddess of the Wind, and I have descended to the mortal realm to find one that has called me." Her voice sang out clearly, thw words wrapping themsleves around Nyota like a warm embrace. "I seemed to have landed in these lands first, but am unsure as to where I am, and if this is where I need to be."
She gave a slight glance around, then looked upon the lioness near her. "I assume that I am in the wrong lands though, for I believe there was something that had to do with tattoos. Many of them. And no ill will to you, but you only seem to have scars that carry themselves on your shoulder."

Nyota's head bobbed, acknowledging that she had gotten the goddess' name. She had the name of a goddess! To her, that was something special. This goddess could have jut bluntly asked for what she wanted, and left, leaving Nyota in a daze. But instead, she seemed to want to become familiar with Nyota, and that pleased her greatly.
"H-hello Mdhamana'kinyamkela. I am Nyota'ausi. These lands that you are in are normally called the Southlands, but I am unsure if the name has changed..." her voice drifted. "I...I live alone, and choose not to mingle with others of my kind."
Her face was full of curiousity until the goddess mentioned the scars on her shoulder. How she hated those. They were like a constant reminder of a past life that she just wanted to forget completely.
"Oh...I am not sure of the ones that you speak of." She shyed a bit, ashamed that she could not give the goddess what she wanted to know.

The goddess felt a twinge of disappointment, but it was not directed at the mortal, this Nyota'ausi. She was disappointed that she would have to find this elusive caller with a little more effort, and though she wasn't lazy, persay, she would rather like to meet the one that called her as soon as mortally possible. The matter seemed urgent, and the maternal side of her strong soul wanted to calm this feeling that ate away at her heart.
"It is alright, Nyota. I would be incredibly surprised if I had found myself in the correct lands on the first attempt. It has been many centuries since I have descended into the mortal realm, I am sure that there will be more failures until I find what I am searching for."
She smiled at the lioness, and gave her a soft premonition. "You certainly do have a strong heart, though, Nyota. The winds told me of your story before you stumbled upon me." She paused, smiling again at the mortal. "Something will change within you, something soon. Do not fear it, just let it flow, like the soft breezes around you."
And with those words, a breeze had picked up around then, kicking up little bits of dead grass, swirling around the two of them.

Nyota blinked as the goddess spoke to her. "Strong...heart?" She felt like she had anything but, always keeping away from others. Certainly, she had become more calm with her life then when she was an adolescent, moving into these lands, but she still didn't mingle with others well. "What...does that mean?"
She was even more taken aback when the goddess mentioned something inside of her. "Wait...what's going to happen to me? I...don't understand, Goddess..." She looked into the goddess' soft silver eyes, wanting more then just a light touch of what might happen to her in the future.

The goddess' laugh was warm and soft, and the winds around the two of them slowly drifted off to dance across the savannah grasses.
"Do not worry yourself too much, Nyota, for soon you shall find out. Within half a new moon's time, your life will change. For the better? Perhaps. For the worse? Only you can tell."
She slowly pulled herself up to her feet, and gingerly flexed her long wings, looking down upon the small lioness. "Nyota, I will give you this promise. Let me know if you ever need me, and I shall come to you as swift as the winds carry this to me." She plucked two of her smaller feathers out of her wing, and let them drop on the lioness' head. "You may use it at any time, for any reason, but please know that you will only get these two, and no more."
"Take care of yourself, Nyota, and I await the time when your life has changed." The goddess' tail flicked behind her, a slight glimmer in her eye.
"I take my leave. Onto another land where I hopefully may gather more information on what I seek. Let the wind fill your wings, and keep your head high."
And with that, the goddess was suddenly engulfed in a strong wing, strong enough that Nyota had to take a step back from it. When the winds had settled, there was nothing left of the goddess, nothing to prove that she was there. Nothing, but two small feathers that graced the top of Nyota's head.

Nyota shivered slightly as it all ended. Was it all a dream? A daze from having a day that had much too many events running in it? As she looked around, she saw the two feathers slip off her head and onto the ground in front of her paws. No...it wasn't a dream.
She felt the little genet leap off her back, and slink up to the feathers, which gave off a light glow as they laid on the ground.

Kibeti had been asleep for most of it, but when the goddess left, the strong winds had woken him up. The small bits of glittery wings had attracted him, and when the slipped onto the ground, he was determined to check them out.
He slinked up to them, and pounced on one. "Mine!" He squeaked out. Once under his paws, he took a peek at it. Its glow continued to dazzle him.
"C-can I keep it, Ny?"

Nyota, still a bit dazzled, glanced down at the genet, and gave him a soft smile.
"Yeah, you can, Kibeti. Make sure not to lose it, though..." her voice trailed off as she stared at the other feather that was left. Maybe....maybe it wasn't all a dream.
"Do you want to hold onto the other one, too? Just promise not to lose them!" she said to him teasingly. Perhaps, since she teased him, he would hold onto them better.

Kibeti gave a little squeal, happy that Ny had entrusted something so important to him. "Yes Ny, I will!"
He scooped up both of the feathers, holding onto them gingerly in his mouth as she scampered back up Ny's back. She would most likely want to go back to her friend, and Kibeti didn't want to keep her waiting. He latched himself back between her shoulder blades as she began to move on.
He had a treasure, all his own! And he would only ever show it to Ny, since she was the whole reason he had anything as special as this.
