Adina Sigi saw a twelve-year old girl running her way. After all the commotion with the magic-test for the slaves and the appearance of a dragon in the sky half an hour ago, there was no telling what the messenger carried for her. Since the strange beast had appeared and taken one of the women, she and the other guards had been working on locating each guest across the compound and urging them to remain inside.
The girl skid to a halt in front of her and repeated this message from Isabel verbatim:
Gather all workers. Calm them.
Review basic fight techniques.
Facilitate the use of all roofed structures.
Organize and travel in groups.
Inventory arms.
Order guests inside.
Blackout at night.
Now she had more authority to tell her guests to get inside like she'd been asking them. That might help in the case of more rambunctious and rebellious clients, like Drea Sevarez...

Drea Sevarez was sprawled out on a carefully-manicured bed of grass and wildflowers, sunbathing. Oh, but it was a beautiful day. She was incredibly pleased with the process she'd made on her tan so far. It was very difficult to keep an attractive complexion at home, where she was so often forced to keep late hours in order to assure that the workers and slaves that she supervised did a proper job.
Her personal slave sat nearby, sullen as ever. He was Demere import, and although he obeyed orders his attitude was in need of constant adjustment. The only reason she had not traded him in for a different one was that she had acquired him at an extremely low price.
"Kurt!" Drea practically spat his name.
The boy blinked as though coming out of a reverie. "Huh?"
"Put some more oil on my back. I want to be comfortable for my little romp this evening." She'd already picked out a particularly attractive slave from among the pleasure slaves she'd seen around the compound, and she wanted to look--and feel--her best when she approached him.
Kurt picked up the oil and began to rub it into her skin, but his heart obviously wasn't in the task.
"Put some effort into it, boy, or I'll sell you back to the government at half the price I bought you. Let me assure you, I'm a very good mistress compared to some of the women I've known."
Kurt just rolled his eyes and continued to slather the oil onto her back with the same dull repetitive motions as before. This was, what, the third time she'd threatened to sell him that week? If he angered her enough she'd simply have him beaten again, and then everything would be back to normal.

As Adina listened to the instructions she nodded her head t6o those that were in the process of being covered or were all ready done. The workers on the estate had been gathered and calmed. She had all ready assigned most of the guards into groups for surveyance of the area.
Everything in the armory had been accounted for and as all of the guests all ready where inside per request.
Even in chaos it seemed everything was going smoothly. She nodded to the messenger sending her back to Isabel telling her that they had everything under control. Which was when the bad news of course always came.
"Adina!" A somewhat panicked yell came as a guard about Adina's age came out.
She turned her head blinking her brown eyes in confusion before jogging the rest of the way towards the other armor clad warrior. "What is it?"
"We're missing some of the guests." The other guard panted out putting her hands on her knees as she tried to catch her breath. She glanced up with her green eyes shaking her head, "It's Drea... She was reported in the gardens last with her slave."
"Drea?" Adina glanced over towards the gardens a worried, and disheartened look in those eyes. Drea had been a difficult guest since the beginning, she didn't know the woman personally but... After hearing some stories she really wished she didn't have to go after her. She gave a sigh reminding herself of her duty as she motioned for the other guard, a sword sheathed in her belt as they started to do an easy jog towards the gardens. Arriving to see Kurt slathering the oil on his mistress's back.
Adina gave a sigh of relief and nodded to the other guard, "Silphy, go to the others and say I found her. I'll bring them in."
The blonde and green haired that was addressed as Silphy blinked in surprise, "But uhm... What about traveling in groups?"
Adina bit her lip in response before shaking her head, "We'll be fine. Just don't let Miss Eldic know..." The other guard nodded in response as she jogged back to the compound to report the news, while Adina stepped forward to try and convince Drea to come inside.
"Miss Sevarez," She gave a curt nod to the woman before looking up again, "Miss Eldic has asked that all the guests please come inside." She motioned back towards the buildings and cleared her throat, "If you'll just follow me, please miss."

Drea sat up and gave the guard who had approached her a withering look. "And why, may I ask, have we been requested to come inside? I'm quite comfortable out here, thanks."
Kurt was more than a little relieved that the guard had showed up. He stopped applying oil to Drea's back and wiped his hands off with a towel, then began to gather up the various items she'd forced him to bring for their excursion to the garden.
"Kurt! Stop that this instant! I'm not going anywhere until I receive an explanation."

On the outside Adina kept her poise standing up straight and not flinching as Drea refused to go. On the inside Adina felt like her stomach just dropped into her feet, and she just wished the woman would just come inside. The guard nodded her head, "Of course Miss Sevarez," She gave another curt nod, "It is for your own safety of course. There was a disturbance earlier with a winged beast flying over the compound and taking one of the guests."
With any other guest vague answers would have sufficed but with Drea the truth was the best policy, "We are unsure if the beast will come back. Which is why we were ordered by Miss Isabel herself to bring everyone inside and to be on watch."
She glanced over at the slave and then back at Drea hoping that her explanation was enough to make the aging woman move. Please make that enough.

As they were arguing, the shadow of a young dragon passed over them as Seyu lept into the sky and flew west. Several guards also interrupted their argument by leaping over flowery bushes after the dragon, shouting and shaking weapons in frustration. One had a dart gun, but missed.

"What do you mean, 'a winged beast'? Because I'm not going to let some glorified bird interrupt my...."
Drea's jaw dropped as the dragon circled overhead and, for the first time in years, she was literally speechless. Unfortunately, she quickly found her voice, and that was when the screaming started.
Kurt swore and instinctively hit the ground and ducked as the dragon flew overhead. He got up again after a few seconds, still wary, and waited until Drea's screams stopped. "...You still want to stay outside?"
"...No. Gather everything up, quickly." She started for the compound, pulling on and straightening her clothes as she went. She gave Adina a stern look. "Would you care to explain that, then?"

Adina had hoped she would not have to hear Drea screech but of course nothing went her way. Her eyes directed skyward towards the shadow dropping into a defensive position as she waited to see if the beast would attack. She was still holding out her halbred in shock when she saw the slave and Drea past her in flight.
She glanced back at the other warriors before going after them, "Well... Uhm... We believe Miss it is a dragon. Though it is only speculation. Lady Eldic will inform her guests later of what is to happen later I am sure."

Drea was dangerously close to another panic attack, but for the moment she managed to pull herself together. "What is a dragon doing here? Here, of all places!" This was supposed to be her relaxing vacation, and now it was well on its way to being ruined.
"I don't want to wait until later to find out what's happening! I want to know now. If that thing remains on the loose and we have to stay inside, I'm going to be sorely miffed!" She gritted her teeth. "Aren't you supposed to know what you're doing?"
((*sigh* Heh... it happens to the best of us. ^_^;;; ))
