 Sitting outside of her house near the pathway, Nin was busy crunching berries in a small bowl of sorts, using some kind of masher thing so she could grind it to its finest powder; the berry was very dry - after all, she had left it to shrivel up, so it would be easier to grind into a powderlike substance.
Emble had wandered off somewhere with Quick, but Beryl had stayed behind, a bit interested in what she was doing. Even though he was mischevious at times, the berry she was crushing had a very interesting scent, almost like that of a flower's nectar.
He peered up at her with curiosity, but said nothing.

 They'd been walking for some time now: a purple-haired trainer with a fishing pole and pack slung over his shoulders, and his pokemon, a purple furred skitty. The skitty had the tendency to frolic off the path from time to time, chasing after anything that caught his eye, but he always ran back to keep up with his trainer.
Rian cracked his neck, trying to ignore the pains in his feet. He sighed, listening to the forest around him and the crunch of gravel beneath his sneakers. Up ahead, he could see a house off the side of the path. He wondered if perhaps the owner of the house would give them a drink of water and a place to sit for a little while.
His skitty, Keita, plopped down in the middle of the path, yawning widely. The violet kitten had run out of energy, curling up in the dirt. Rian rolled his eyes a bit, stopping to lean down and pick the pokemon up, cradling him in his arms.
"Nya~" Keita yawned at him.
"Well, don't waste so much energy running around in circles," Rian said, poking him in the nose, "silly cat."
The house was growing closer and he could see someone sitting outside. He couldn't see him/her so well, so he approached the house warily.

Suddenly turning his head at the noise, Beryl made a small sound and pointed at the pathway, to which Nin nodded.
"I heard it too." Finishing the powder, she poured it into a small vial and placed it in her pack gently, picking up Beryl and the bowl, taking them both back into the house.
Whoever it was might want a place to stay, or even medicine.

Rian picked up the pace, seeing the person duck into the house. He hoped whomever lived there wasn't about to run out with some kind of killer guard-pokemon. That would just not be good for him and his little skitty.
He stepped towards the door, raising a hand to knock on it.
"Nya?" Keita's nose twitched, trying to identify several familiar scents all at once.

Hearing the knocking, Nin raised her head after clearing things to make her house look more tidy, and cleared her throat. "The door's open." She glanced at her strangely blue Cyndaquil, a questioning look in her eyes.
"You're sure that Emble and Quick are going to come back soon?" She murmured, and smiled slightly when Beryl nodded his head. "Alright, if you say so."

Rian opened the door with one hand, Keita still resting in his other arm. He blinked as he peered into the first room of the house, glancing around quickly until his gaze rested on the person he'd seen sitting outside.
He did his best to keep his expression neutral when he recognized the ninja girl they'd met once before. In Rian's opinion, the encounter had been less than pleasant. But he was here now, and there was no way of knowing how far away the next house was.
He stepped inside the building, toeing his shoes off at the door. "We meet again," he said, leaning down so that Keita could jump to the floor.
"Nya!" The skitty recognized the blue cyndaquil from their earlier encounter, and wondered if the other two pokemon -- the pikachu and seviper -- were around, as well. His nose continued twitching excitedly, picking up the smells of different kinds of berries.

"Oh, hello!" The girl murmured brightly, smiling down at Beryl with a look that clearly said 'Be good, and no tricks'.
"What brings you to my fine home?" Rocking back on her heels, she put her arms behind her back and studied him, taking in all of his features. She hadn't had the chance to before, because of her berry escapade, but now she had all the time in the world.
She herself was dressed in mostly black, her auburn red hair short and her scarf covering her lips so it couldn't really be told whether she was smiling or frowning. Her eyes, however, were bright blue with amusement, and the blue cyndaquil was a stark contrast to her; blue and black. Almost unique, one would say.

"Just passing through," Rian replied, brushing dust off of his jeans. He straightened and ran a hand through his violet hair and across his tired face. "I was wondering if we," he motioned to the skitty, who was making his way towards Beryl, "could maybe get some water before we keep going."
Keita turned and looked up at his trainer with a pained expression. Not more walking~ He turned back around, stepping closer to the blue pokemon, sniffing at him cautiously.

"Only if you give me a battle," Murmured the sly trainer, crossing her arms smugly and glancing to Beryl. "What do you say, Bear?"
Beryl smirked, and leapt up, tackling the Skitty in somewhat of a hug (though he really stuck his tongue inside the Skitty's ear), then darted away to get into a fighting stance.
"I'll include a few pokeblocks as well, if you're interested in a prize."

Rian's eyes narrowed as he said coldly, "Do you require all of your potential customers to battle you, or is this just my lucky day?"
Keita yelped in surprise at the tackle, whipping around and slashing the pokemon with his claws as it darted past. Violet colored fur stood on end as the skitty took up his own fighting stance across from Beryl: tail poised behind him, claws at the ready.
