Saddly, we couldn't make the cut for last year. But we are hoping to make it this year... I love Ellington.

It takes place in the Lincoln Center, NY I believe. And you need to have something like 7 prepared pieces from Ellington. Three to auition, and then at the festival they pick five for you to play. And if you happen to be in the top three or something, you play the other two and one of the five a judge picks. Somethng like that.

It was great, our band played Braggin' In Brass... Om my god, I never never our trumpets and trombones could do that...

so this is a band festival, eh? cool! i don´t think our school will do it, because NY is very far away from CA.

Usually there are several bands from my state that go and compete and usually get up in the finals too. Washington usually has the most bands competing in it.
