(Iris, I figured I'd just go ahead and make it... you and Kyt can reply whenever you get the chance. ^^ I think it'd be best if the post order goes Kiwi - Moyo - Mufasa. :3 That way it's easiest for Kiwi and Moyo to react to each other and stuff.)

The large white lion was still limping from his fight with the psychotic lioness, but his wounds had begun to heal over, and his eyes had become bright once more. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he and his mate approached the watering hole. There was something familiar about this place, and about the looming rock in the distance. It was as if he had been born with some innate sense of these lands. At this point, he guessed they had entered the Pridelands, and so the lion assumed these memories were from his cubhood.

He pressed his body against Moyo's side, his green eyes sparkling as they slowed at the pool of water. Kiwi approached the edge and leaned over, lapping thirstily at the clear liquid. It splattered against his whiskers, creating tiny beads of water on his fur. The drink was refreshing and soon he pulled back, his stomach full of cool water.

Leaning back to his haunches, the lion sat down, feeling a vague pain from his wounds. Still, they were better than they had been, and for this he was thankful. The wounds were a bitter reminder to the gentle lion of the day he had almost lost his mate. He turned his gaze to the lioness and smiled. Each day he thanked his ancestors that they had both made it out of that situation alive.

"See that rock in the distance?" he said softly, motioning with his head. "That's Pride Rock... that's where I was born. We've made it to the Pridelands."

((Yeah, that sounds good to me. ^^

Edit: D: That makes sense, Iris. *fixes everything*))

Moyo nodded happily, sitting down next to her mate and love.
"I see it. That's where you were born? Where you grew up? I could only think of a million things to do and we're not even that close!" she exclaimed.

Throughout the journey, as short as it had seemed, Moyo learned more about Kiwi than ever before.

Her mate tended to not exaggerate on comments, so she learned how to ask the right questions in order for him to do so. By doing that, she was told about his childhood and parents. Part of her hoped and prayed to the Gods that his father was there. The other prayed he was not.
The latter was just to avoid more problems, if nothing else. She wasn't so sure how she would react to another male, especially the father of Kiwi.

The possibility of cubs thrilled and scared her. She was so young; her mother had been a full adult when she and her brothers were born.
Moyo knew that this problem would continue on in her mind until cubs were born or they weren't. If she was fertile, fine. She would have cubs and Kiwi would be happy. If Moyo was sterile...then, they could always adopt.
It did sound silly, but there must be cubs out there without a home that they could take in.
If.
If she was...sterile.
She hated that word.

"The Pridelands are beautiful," Moyo half-whispered, coming back to the present and more serious issue at hand. What would the lions think of them? And of their king, Mufasa? Would they be accepted so kindly and quickly as Kiwi had reasurred her time and time again?

The possibility of good fortune to not fall upon them was heart-breaking. Kiwi would never be able to look for his father, then, unless they roamed the outskirts of the the Pridelands. And she knew they couldn't. As gentle as Mufasa seemed to be, he had lionesses and cubs and other lions to take care of, which meant that he would rid his lands of a threat before it became one.

((That's a good post order to me. biggrin

But.... Have you sent in the breeding form yet? Because I'm fairly certain you're not supposed to rp your lioness as pregnant until you've actually got a confirmation and rolling. Just in case anything is wrong with your rps, or Dusty/Meep have some sort of issues that shuts down breeding for awhile ))

-The old lion meandered lazily along the golden grasses, his pelt melting into the surroundings, though he towered higher then grasses beneath him. His throat was dry, a result of the snack he'd devoured not long before, and the long conversation he'd settled himself in afterwards. So he was intent on remeding it.

As he neared the watering hole the sight of two others came into sight, but that wasn't particularly strange within the rich pridelands, and he dismissed it, making his way to the water for his drink first. Tongue lapping against the cool waters, his eyes peered up gently through his auburn mane.-

(Whoops @__@ I totally forgot about that rule. xD Thanks, Iris. -nods- I guess we can switch it so that she's pregnant, but isn't showing/doesn't know it yet? That way there's plenty of time to wait for breedings to open/to fix our roleplays, if something like that happens. -nods-)

Kiwi paused for a moment, looking up at the old lion that had approached the watering hole. For a moment he felt as though he recognized the lion, as if from some distant memory, but he dismissed it. Surely he wouldn't remember anyone from that long ago?

He nodded at his mate before turning his green gaze upon Mufasa. "Hi there!" he said brightly, a smile crossing his lips. Despite the old wounds that were riddled across his body, some already turning into scars, the large lion seemed nothing but friendly. Indeed, he was like a teddy bear - large and fluffy, with kindness showing in his eyes.

"Do you live here?"

((Yeah. xDD I fixed my post; thanks Iris. That was, like, the only post I had done something with Moyo knowing about the pregnancy, so I don't think I'll have to fix anymore. :3))

Moyo followed after her mate immediately, still uneasy about leaving him alone. She peered over Kiwi's scarring shoulder--she couldn't help but wince as her eyes passed over it-- as he came to a stop and she trotted up behind him and listen in.

Pride Rock (or whatever the boulder was called) stood quite a distance away, yet here was an older lion that held a regal air about him, even as his head dipped to drink from a stream. Moyo was amazed that a lion could do something like that.

-He lingered at the water for a moment longer, waiting for his throat to sooth before finally he lifted his head, giving his mane a mild shake before a smile settled on his golden features.

Manners would have made him talk to them reguardless, but pleasant enthusiasm.. well that just always pulled him in more, and he answered back just as cheerfully.- "Hello. I do indeed. Are you looking for someone perhaps."

Even the lion's voice... something distant, something long lost, stirred inside of Kiwi, but he still could not put his paw on it. Taking a quick glance at Moyo, he looked back at the regal lion and replied good-naturedly, "Well, t'be honest, we were coming to see if we could join the Pride that makes their home here." Pausing for a moment, he continued, "My name is Janikiwiti - though Kiwi is fine - and this is Moyo." He looked down at her again, hoping she didn't mind him speaking for her.

Then his story started spilling out. "See, I was born here... my mother's name was Tukuta... but when I was still young, we left. I'm not quite sure why, really..." he frowned slightly. "So, well, to make a long story short... I've, or rather, we've, come back to sort of... find out more about this place, and to make our home here. I've heard good things about these lands - better things than I've heard about other places."

Blinking, he finished, "So, um, we were on our way to try and find the king and queen. You wouldn't know where either of them are, would you?"

Moyo could only nod a few times and listen in as well in the story; she couldn't very well tell her mate's story without knowing everything, now could she?

A sudden thought of a conversation with her father popped into her head.

"My father mentioned a tip about asking for a lion named 'Mufasa' before we left," she added quickly. Perhaps if this lion knew the one she spoke of it would be much easier to join this pride.

-At the male's words, a soft look of mischeif touched the King's eyes, quite ready to take up the common and pleasing task of leading the young ones on. Getting to know them without them knowing of his title. Getting to know their true selves before he rendered the decision of whether or not they could stay. As opposed to the guise of manners that many often put on when they knew who he was.

But as the female spoke, he almost had to laugh, his plan thwarted. If they knew his name, he could not play his game. Not without them thinking him rude and eccentric.

Tail twitching softly, he gave them a knowing old smile before he nodded finally.- "It is a good tip indeed young Moyo. I'm the Mufasa you seek."

-Glancing between the to he greeted them formally, bowing his head respectfully to each.- "Welcome back to the Pridelands Kiwi, and welcome Moyo. I usually suggest that lions spend some time getting to know the land before they join, but you seem to have your mind set already. So that'd probably a waste of time, no?"
PostPosted: Wed Aug 23, 2006 9:04 pm

Kiwi blinked at the mischief in the old lion's eyes and a slight grin spread across his lips, which only grew wider when the king introduced himself as Mufasa. Unlike many other lions, this young adult did not quite grasp the concept of royalty. While he understood the definition, he did not see why any lion should be placed above another, or why any sort of hierarchy should exist. However, from what he had heard, Mufasa was not that type of king - he did not exert his power for his own personal gain or ego. So, while Kiwi straightened up a bit in front of the king, he did not take on a stiff and formal manner of talking. Of course he remained respectful - he would've been respectful towards anyone - but it was obvious that he was still being himself.

"Wow, really?" There was a touch of amusement in his voice. "I never imagined that the first lion we ran into would be the king himself! It's nice to meet you, Mu..." he blinked and cut himself off, finishing, "er, your highness." Smiling sheepishly, he scuffed at the ground with a large paw. "Sorry, sir. I've been a rogue my whole life and I'm not very used to the whole... pride hierarchy."

Listening to the king's next words, he offered yet another genuine grin. "Anyplace that thrives on the fundamentals of peace and love is the perfect place for me, your majesty. Don't let these scars fool you..." he looked down at his wounded body, a sick feeling in his stomach. "I have never fought in my life, except for the battle that gave me these wounds, and even then, I was only doing it to protect myself and Moyo." His tail wrapped around Moyo lovingly, and he looked down at her again, his green eyes warm and affectionate.

"However, if you'd like us to wait a little while before deciding, that's fine, too." He hoped the king would allow them to join now, but he didn't want to rush things, either.

Moyo's jaw could have dropped at this newfound information: this was Mufasa? King of the Pridelanders?

The king she had expected to find was the complete opposite of the one standing before her. She listened to the conversation quietly, playing the role of an 'obediant' mate, if one could call it that (Moyo had always hated such expectations. Why she was doing so now was probably out of respect for Mufasa if nothing else).

She nodded her agreement to Kiwi's statement.
What was she going to say?
Demand to be taken and entered into the pride immediately? No. That would be rude.

Moyo remembered Kifijo saying another phrase, one that she had taken personally and had tried to do with everyone she met. Including Kiwi, the first few times.
'Put yourself in their place. See what they want to see; look at yourself through their eyes and find out what you need to do and what you need to not do. Do this, and you will become the better lion.'

Or something along those lines.

"Mufasa is fine" -A simple statement that resounded as he spoke, before settling in to listen to the rest of his words, glancing to the female for her opinion as well.. though it never sounded.

To his question and offering Mufasa simply shook his head, a smile creeping upon his face.- "There is no reason to delay the inevitable, if you are truely set on living within my lands. The two of you are quite welcome into the pride."

-Glancing lightly over his shoulder, he motioned towards the distance.- "Priderock is littered with many small rock dens if you prefer to be close to much of the pride. However there are places all over the savannah for lions to settle."

Kiwi smiled broadly, glad that the king understood how much they desired to stay here. He listened intently as Mufasa described possible living arrangements before nodding. "A den would be nice," he said gratefully, before realizing that he had been the one talking the entire time. He didn't want Mufasa to think that he treated Moyo badly, as if forcing her to be silent the whole time, so he looked to her with warm eyes. "What do you think?"
PostPosted: Mon Aug 28, 2006 4:59 pm

Moyo was content to listen, actually. She blinked when Kiwi asked for her opinion, suddenly shaken into the conversation.

"Um. I think finding a den would be wonderful. It would give us a chance to explore and rest whenever we found the time," she continued. The thought of freedom in a small, well-known community was so tempting. "We'd have a place of our own, and we'd be in control of how much and who of the pride we meet, at first."

Moyo smiled up at Mufasa and then Kiwi, giving her mate a wink.
"But that's just me."

-He nodded to the sentiment softly. He himself was QUITE the social butterfly, but he'd learned in his children, and many of the others that lived in the lands the want for privacy, secerity, and the such. Eyes gazing towards the rocks once again he took a soft step back, motioning that if they wanted to go, they were free to do so.- "There are plenty of kind lions in these lands. If you run into any problems I'm sure others would be happy to help."

"And if worse comes to worse, there is always help to be found atop the Priderocks."
