I be a Christian. 3nodding (I don't really understand the whole strict/non strict thing in the poll, so I just went non strict.)
This implores me to ask a question: Is the peace sign supposed to be a broken cross? I've heard some people say that.

I'm a Solitary Celtic Wiccan. And I am a Solitary Celtic Kitchen Witch.
Pie: I've never heard that about the peace sign. And I don't really agree with the statement.

I will explain the peace sign. The british used the peace sign to mean victory ( notice how the peace sign looks like a v). Not sure how/ why the hippies adopted it. 3nodding

I've heard some people say that. the peace sign is also known as the CND - Campain for Nuclear Disarmament. it was designed in 1958 by Gerald Holtom, a designer and artist. and it has nothing to do with a cross. i dont know about the victory thing though

The peace sign is known by many christians as the cross of nero. I have no idea where the peace sign came from. But according to many christians, its a symbol of "evil s**t" But I heavily disagree with this.

I don't really belong in a religion. I used to be christian, but now I don't believe in any of the christian beliefs. . . I mostly just gather beliefs from different religions and believe in what I want, an odd combination. Organized religion now kind of bugs me. >o<

I'm an atheist. Religion bugs me, it really does. In my opinion all its over brought is discrimination and war but thats my opinion. wink
The peace sign was originally invented by the French Resistance during WW2 and painted on the roofs of houses that they didn't want bombed by the Allies. It therefore means 'NO BOMBS HERE!'
Thats why it was adopted by the CND and is now a world-wide symbol of peace. Just so you know. wink

A bit of an oddity probably, I'm a Mormon hippie.
Not a very strict Mormon, of course lol I'm actually in the process of re-evaluating my beliefs. If only they'd merge with the Rastas, then it'd all be good mrgreen
