This thread is where all anime news will be posted. Occasionally I'll post new releases of manga, anime, or merchandise here for you all. For those of you that are collectors I think this thread will be extremely helpful to you. Or at least I hope so.
I've just changed the way this works. If you have news, PM it to me instead of posting it here. I think I'd like to make this more like a guide than a place for people to post. It would make it neater that way and then you wouldn't have to look through all the extra posts to find the good stuff (the actual anime news)
When you PM it to me, make sure you spell everything correctly (or as correctly as you can) and use good grammar for the other members convenience. I'll give credit to whoever deserves credit for finding/giving the information. You may have noticed that the extra posts that were here before were deleted. Don't worry! I saw them. Thanks to everyone who sends in news. It's a great help and it'll keep this guild and it's members happy and up to date!
More recent news will be up near the top, just in case you were wondering, that way, you won't have to go looking for the newer stuff. Enjoy!

America's best selling independent Anime magazine is set to go Monthly in June 2005.
The Anime Insider Magazine from Wizard Entertainment Group has stated that this has been a long time in the coming and due to reader responses which seem to imply a monthly release would be welcomed, say they are happy to finally go Monthly like so many other magazines in the market.
Wizard also proudly announce the magazine will under go a full revamp and have its contents updated for its growing Fan base. The magazine is set to increase its material by adding all new sections for OST & Soundtrack reviews. One thing I personally find interesting is that the magazine will include parts of Japanese Youth culture (fashion, Gadgets etc - I guess) and also contain articles of certain locations in Tokyo. This sounds pretty unique to an anime magazine so far and I look forward to seeing how that turns out.
The first Monthly issue will include a full round up of Naruto and interviews with the director of Fruits Basket about his new upcoming anime series. It also holds promises to include news about FullMetal Alchemist, Gantz, Tenchi Muto, Samurai Champloo and more!
The magazine will launch in June with two available covers.

New Kiki's Delivery Service from Disney
Walt Disney Pictures is working on a live-action adaptation of Kiki's Delivery Service. The movie will be based on Eiko Kadano's books that Hayao Miyazaki adapted to make his own Kiki's Deliversy Service movie, which was released on DVD by Disney in 2003. Jeff Stockwell, who wrote the screenplay for The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys, has been hired to write the screenplay for the Kiki movie. Source: Variety

VIZ TO RELEASE SHOUJO "Shonen Jump" MAGAZINE!!! On the 6th of Febuary 2005, Viz revealed that starting from June it will be releasing a monthly shoujo manga magazine anthology named shojo beat. We believe this is basically a shoujo (Reality, teen, female - based) version of Shonen Jump and it seems it will be warmly welcomed. A main reason we think it has arrived is the questionnaire by Viz last year, which apparently revealed a market for a female orientated magazine.
We have had quite a lot of news released in just the two days it has been announced and sources all over the net are really looking into this. The magazine it's self is going to be 250 - 350 pages long and it will cost roughly £6.00 a month or with subscription costs are $35.00 for 12 months, although it is likely that in issue 1 there is to be a promotional offer of $30.00 for the 12 months.
As for the content, Viz have stated it is going to follow the same style as SHONEN JUMP Magazine, as they say this is an easy to read. It will carry a "T+" rating for older teens, this is believed to be on par with the questionnaire last year. Again just to emphasise, this is definitely a magazine aimed mainly towards the female teen section of the market. Shôjo manga often depict plots set around love, family, responsibility and identity. The level of fantasy, artifice or artistic ambition involved in most shôjo stories are endearing, and the universal appeal of these subjects has helped to drive the genre's popularity. SHOJO BEAT is basically another step in Viz's hopes to become the leader of this genre of anime. We have been told that there are 6 titles to be premiered, these are: Akachan to Boku (Baby & Me), Crimson Hero, God Child, Kaze Hikaru, NANA and Zettai Kareshi. You can read summaries for these at the end of this article. Every month the titles included will vary from a number of Viz's main Manga links: Shogakukan, Inc. and Shueisha, Inc. (both parent companies of VIZ), as well Hakusensha. The first issue, July 2005, will be available for the normal $5.99, but don't worry, there is one promotion you won't want to miss! There will be a special preview issue available at speciality retailers beginning in May and also distributed at summer anime, manga and comic conventions. Make sure you get your hands on one of them, if nothing else you can sell it on Ebay!

The regular time slot beginning in September will include Naruto at 9pm followed by One Piece at 9:30pm. Hopefully with such a good selection of anime at CN's disposal, they'll finally give Futurama a break and put Fullmetal Alchemist back on.

Yu yu Hakusho moved to Fridays!
That's right. For those of you that didn't know, Yu yu Hakusho has continued airing on Cartoon Network. If you haven't seen it on, that's probably because it's now playing at 5:30 in the morning, right after a rerun of Gundam Seed airs.
Just thought I should let you guys know! I know there are a lot of yyh fans in the guild. ^_^ Particularly Hiei fans. heart

New Anime Updates!!!May 1st, 2008 Okay, so I know it's been FOR-freaking-EVER since the last time I posted any updates but I have a good reason. My life has gone pretty fast due to the fact that I graduated high school last year and am now in the last 3-4 days of my final freshman semester of college. =) Anyway, to the updates!! For those of you who are fans of Hino Matsuri's Vampire Knight manga and haven't heard already, it is finally out in it's ANIME FORM! Episodes air every Monday in Japan and are typically subbed by late Wednesday, early Thursday (sometimes a little later but not much). The anime is very close to the actual graphic novels, which are also coming out, the next one due in September as Shojo Beat is still serializing VK and doesn't want the graphic novels to come out before they serialize them. So anyway, you can find Vampire Knight on veoh and on quite a few other streaming anime websites. =) Have fun kiddies! ANOTHER NEW ANIME SERIES Spice and Wolf is another new anime series recently put out this year in Japan. Based on a popular Japanese light novel series it hit it so big it eventually became an anime. It has 13 episodes and is finished airing all except for special episode 7 which will be coming out on the dvd later on. The story follows a street vendor in a medieval-ish time period and his normal daily travels with a not-so-normal wolf goddess girl named Horo. It's one of those series that isn't strikingly action packed but instead a nice refreshing break from the oh-so-popular magical girl and fantasy animes popping up all over the place. It has a touch of romance but is really not even enough to consider it a chick-show is if that's what you like then I'm sure you'll love it. The aesthetic feeling the anime gives is amazing and the music is beautiful. You can also check out many of the episodes on Veoh! Enjoy!!!
