Still... Silence... Solitude... All was broken until a bubbly little violet girl came romping across the clearing off the woods; a bundle of yellow and white daisies in her arms. Behind her stood her guardian, Ocean.

Recently she had decided to perm her hair in a long, straight, layered fashion, and dyed it back to its original black. She collapsed onto the ground and sat with her arms stretched out behind her for support, watching as Evelyn plucked every flower within her sight.

Melody had decided to take Mereneth out for a picnic, just the two pyros. Besides, she needed time with him, right? Settling the blanket out on a patch of grass which overlooked a beautiful scenery. Looking around, she spotted two other nature lovers, a young girl and her mother, she assumed.

Mereneth gurgled happily, reaching towards the picnic basket, only freezing halfway when he spotted the same two people Melody saw. They sure seemed familiar...

Ocean peered over her shoulder when she heard the bushes around her rustle and spotted an Illusionary and it's guardian. The guardian seemed friendly, so she hopped up and called Evelyn over.

Evelyn's ears perked up at the sound of her mommy calling her, she she immdietly skipped over, arms still full with the bunches of flowers she just picked.

Ocean waved gently at the other woman and walked over, "Good afternoon, and what might your name be," she asked in a somewhat motherly tone to the other guardian.

Evelyn stared affixedly at the young baby with leathery wings... He seemed so familiar...

Melody tucked her fringe behind her ear to keep it out of her eyes and smiled at Ocean. The little girl also had came over, after collecting a beautiful bouquet of flowers alaid in her arms.

"Hullo, I'm Melody, and this is Mereneth. You? "she gestured towards the baby, who was now trying to open the picnic basket.

Mereneth was trying to get his arm in the picnic basket, which was apparently a failed attempt. Looking up when he heard his name, he blinked up at both of the "strangers", who, in his mind, seemed like deja-vu.

Ocean's eyes nearly fell out of their sockets before the sounds of a bundle of flowers dropping to the floor and the scampering of Evelyn's footsteps were heard.

Evelyn practically rammed poor Mere into the dirt, but it wouldn't have hurt the little gurgling baby considering she doesn't weigh much, but she held the baby in her arms and held him tight.

"Mere Mere Mere!!!" She shouted in joy before planting a big kiss on his cheek.

Ocean shook her head around and held her head with one hand, "Oh, hello there, my name's Ocean. And that's my daughter Evelyn. And, I'm sorry, did you say that baby's name is Mereneth?"

Evelyn released her hold on him but she gently stroked his leathery wings, "Oooh... When did you get these Mere? Do you remember the kitties back at home?"

Melody blinked in surprise and almost stepped forward in reflex, worried. When she made sure Evelyn wouldn't harm the baby, she calmed down, her tense shoulders relaxing but her anxious eyes continued hovering towards the pair.

"Ocean...I...yes...his name IS Mereneth..." Melody felt so confused by this all that she could only splutter, as her eyes darted towards her son and Evelyn AND Ocean. "Please DO tell me what's going on?"

Mereneth cocked his head, "Ah...vyn?" It was the closest he sould get to a name, being a toddler and all, but it still seemed all hazy in his mind. Ocean, Evelyn...

"Oh my... You're his new guardian aren't you...?" Ocean blinked back the shock and her grey eyeballs before continuing, "Evelyn and I. We haven't seen him in the longest time. And well, we used to take care of him. I don't suppose you know Lavi do you?"

Evelyn hugged the baby once again before spouting out, "When Lavi was having trouble, she let us watch little Mere here! And it looks like he grew; I couldn't recognize him at all!"

The little violet girl's stomach churned up in excitement as she tickled the little baby, considering she was still older than him.

"Mommy and I missed him so much, I'm sorry if that first hug seemed to be a bit of a shock..."

"New...guardian? Lavi?" It seemed as though one of the jigsaw pieces had clicked into place. Of course...his old guardian was Lavi, and perhaps Mere was affected by her leave? "Oh no, I don't know her..." Melody's voice trailed off, then remembering her manners, she thanked Ocean for taking care of Mere before.

Mereneth giggled as Evelyn tickled him, rolling in her arms. In curosity, he began tugging at her flowery outifit. Woo...

"I understand Evelyn," the redhead bent down and stroked the girl's head, "Do you wanna join our picnic then?" she looked up at Ocean.

Ocean blinked back in surprise and gave a soft smile, "Sure. And I'll tell you some of the things that happened back then as well. I'm sure you're more than curious to know."

Evelyn giggled and poked Mere's belly, "Awww... You're so cuuute..." heart She cuddled him again, so glad to finally meet him again.

"But of course," Melody replied, opening the basket and settting a few cakes, sandwiches and jelly on the blanket. "Help yourself."

Mereneth laughed, apparently pleased to be called cute.

Giving a small giggle, the redhead berated Evelyn jokingly, "Don't shower him too much with compliments; it'll make his ego swell," she reached over and ruffled Mere's hair.

With the extensive vocabulary Ocean has given her, Evelyn actually knew what the word "ego" meant, and nodded before poking his tummy again.

"Why thank you," Ocean responded, not forgetting her manners before picking out a ham sandwich and another one for Evelyn.

"Alright.. Where to start," Ocean murmured after taking a bite out of her sandwich, she swallowed and continued, "Well, I suppose I should tell you want happened to Lavi, although I don't know much myself sadly. I had become friends with her quite some time ago due to the fact that we were both Illusionary Guardians. But, I suppose during the time I had met her she was going through some financial problems. And she couldn't take care of Mereneth for the time being..."

Evelyn listened sadly to the story of their past and she absent mindedly took a bite out of her sandwich.

"We gladly took Mere in when she could take care of him, she was supposed to come back many months ago, but, none of us have heard from her since. I suppose afterwards those at the Head Quarters finally decided to offer him up for Adoption. And that where you came in with this beautiful baby boy that used to be a little dragon, wisp, thing."

A sweatdrop rolled own the of the woman's head, even with Ocean's broad vocabulary, she didn't what to call Mere's past form.

Melody nodded slightly as she herself bit into a piece of cake as she listened to Ocean, the slight breeze ruffling her hair. "An illusion, more like, "she said thoughtfully. Laughing weakly, she continued,"Though I didn't know he would become this. He was...rather quiet before becoming a baby."

She had no idea of whether to tell Ocean of Mere's nightmare. Glancing at Mereneth, he seemed preoccupied with fiddling with his blanket, a little...upset? Perhaps.

Ocean nodded before taking another bite, "He was. He used to be so shy. Especially around Evelyn. It was odd really. And he'd used to curl up around my neck like a scarf. A habit I suppose that he probably still had from when he was with Lavi."

A passing breeze blew back Ocean's raven black hair before she tucked it behind her ear.

A squirrel in a nearby tree had captured Evelyn's attention as her pale eyes blinked upon it with interest.

"Shy?" Melody grinned, cocking her head as her eyes flitted towards Mereneth, "Problem is, I'd not exactly call him that now. You dont want to know what happened when I last took him out." she grimaced at the flashback of the toddler happily playing with his magic and burnt quite a few things.

Frowning a little, her fingers began rubbing aganst the cake absentmindedly, producing some crumbs flitting down to the blanket, "Is that so? He didn't use to do that. Just floating around. Then again, it wasn't as if I knew he was an Illusionary."

Mereneth had spotted the squirrel too, and was making his determined crawl towards it.

Ocean nodded with understanding before taking another nibble of her sandwich. She had lost her appetite and decided to stare at the squirrel along with the children. She sliced off a piece of her sandwich with her inhumanely long nails and placed it on the ground not too far away from the picnic blanket in hopes that the squirrel would skitter down and eat it.

Evelyn's amethyst eyes wavered from the sandwich upon the lush green ground to the brown squirrel in the tree. Unfortunately, the squirrel didn't seem to take any interest and instead decided to stuff an acorn that it had confiscated earlier into it's mouth.
