Already this morning the raven had been yelled at three times. Once for trying to smear his brothers outfit in red paint and twice for being too loud. The being to loud part having to do with being at the library. Madeline had some research she had to finish, and not trusting the little maniac at home alone anymore, she had no other choice but to drag him along with her to the library. (Haruki said he would have nothing to do with taking care of Keivlos)

There had been much fighting, and screaming (not to mention kicking and scratching) but eventually Madeline had hauled him along and found a safe and distant back part of the library for him to sit and pine away in. It wasn't as if the raven was lonely, no he had his friend to keep him company...friend meaning the hideous disgusting doll he dragged around with him. However, there was something about solitude that Keivlos just could not stand. It was probably the silence which got him...

"EeeeAAAAAAH!" Getting fed up Keivlos stood from his corner and ripped a book from the shelf madly he began tearing out pages...only stopping when he caught a glimpse of something horribly disfigured. If there had been an adult around, he surly would have gotten a good smack for that one. “..red…” came a whisper from under his breath.

Ai'shern had been dragged to the library as it was Sciz's turn to watch the little demon. He had been dumped intot he children's section while his guardian had quickly vanished to the otherside of the library. Ai hadn't stayed in the childrens section to long, too much pink and cutesy things everywhere. The only pink he could stand was that darn hat his sister stole from him. He stalked out and quickly moved to the back.

Ai liked it much better in the back. It was darker and kinda of musty smelling from all the books. He scratched his shoulder idlely and pulled a black and red feather out. "Bah." he dropped the feather watching it float to the ground. There had to be something interesting here. His tail thumped into the bookshelf rather noisly. Ah yes the shelves.

With a leap, he dug his claws into the shelf and the books went flying. Ai glanced down for a moment then reached for the next shelf.

Upon the other side of the book shelf, a very nervous and twitchy raven suddenly was caught by surprise as a couple of books from a higher shelf flopped upon his head. He had been sitting down now, whilst he ripped out pages 1-99 of "Basic Human Anatomy". Alarmed Keivlos stopped, and emitted a low sound hiss mixed with the under twang of a ravens caw. Something was making awfully messy horrid things on the other side of this wall...awful messy horrid things that caused pain.

The dark little boy reached up and rubbed the back of his head. That had hurt...the ravens lips now curled into a slight smile. What's could it be on the other side? Eyes beginning to bulge out of their socket a bit, Keivlos lifted a shaking hand to the bottom shelf and pealed away one book, and then another...and other...the wall....it could be...moved. The more books the raven removed from the shelf the more of the other side he could see. Frantically he began tearing at the shelf...what could he see...scales...sharp toes. With a burst of energy and a scream Keivlos knocked the books on the other side out of the way and scrambled onto the side which Ai'shern stood.

Oh? What was this thing which lived on the other side of the wall? Keivlos had never seen anyone like Ai'shern...he almost reminded him of Yeesha with his scales. Some more frantic scratching at the floor and a bit of panting Keivlos lunged and wrapped himself around Ai'sherns legs. "Hiiiiiii..." Croaked the raven, looking up at his new found curiosity.

His tallons scraping into the wood and paper was a wonderful feeling. He was actually enjoying himself till something attached itsself to his leg. Ai whipped his head around to look at his new found leech. A hiss escaped in the process, but it wasn't loud enough to be threating.

His spines stood on end a bit. What was this black thing attached to his leg. His pale eyes scanned the winged leech. "What you want?" His tail swung wide and nailed another bookshelf, knocking more books off. He certainly was good at causing a mess, but the feathed thing had his attention at the moment.

It was in the birds nature never to sit still. Of coarse there were two occasions or reasons he did. The first was when he was near Emi. The second was when observing new objects and new people. Ai'shern explained for Keivlos's stillness. The raven was simply having trouble taking him all in. What...what a marvelous thing...it was cold and leathery, had sharp things that could stick on top, and sharp things that could rip on bottom. It was with the rasping gasp of something dying that Keivlos then noticed the black and red feathers. The read shiny...no, it wasn't shiny but red.

Suddenly the bird was salivating. Out of all the things in this world, it was a color that could drive him wild. "Heh...heh...heh." a slightly mad look flickered through those multi colored eyes of his. His left red eye, now bright and burning with delight. The right although there did some a spark of life in it remained somewhat dead and unmoving. People didn't like that eye. No, the right was simply creepy it only added to the ambience that was Keivlos.

Yank! Keivlo's moved his arms up higher, locking around the back of Ai'shern's knees as he sent him falling backwards towards the ground. "It's pretty, pretty, I want!" Chanted the raven, as he crawled over the basilisk before Ai had even hit the ground. Why didn't he have such pretty feathers? Why didn't he have things that could rip and tear and poke and cause...pain.

Ai'shern's eyes narrowed. He didn't like the look the crazed raven boy was giving him. He definately didn't like it when the boy decided Ai was a jungle gym either. Then he was suddenly falling over. It was too cold in the library which ment suggish reactions for Ai's cold blood. He toppled over with the raven clinging to his back seemingly facinated with his feathers.

"GET OFF." Ai roared. Which was quite a feat for for something as small as he was. He pushed his tallons under the boy and tried to pry him off. If this wasn't working, the next step would be more painful. Though Keivlo would probably like the resulting color.

Shaking hands wrapped around unbelievably soft feathers, which no matter how his sharp nails tugged, would not budge from their hold upon Ai's back. But that didn't matter Keivlos was near enough, he was happy...so pretty, but pretty wasn't always good. In fact, pretty meant pain, a yes...he felt it soon enough those sharp things made for ripping and tearing, now tearing into him.

The cuts weren't deep enough to do any damage, or to get Keivlos to let go just yet, however the carnage did certainly make a lovely shade of spilt blood upon the floor. The pretty, it always meant pain...the raven boy went quiet as he watched the red liquid trickle from holes in his shirt. Curiosity eventually led him to let go, only so he could explore the stuff now leaking over his fingers. Was he in pain? Oh yes, he certainly felt that stinging sensation wracking his body. But the Raven didn't cry. He never did. Perhaps it was because he thought the act was something unnatural and dirty...or maybe it was the happiness of seeing his favorite color that kept him quiet. He had been cut and hurt before, but this was the first time it was to such a great extent.

Had there been an adult around, the situation would have quickly been taken care of. Yet, it was just two children, standing alone in the back of a deserted section in the library. At length Keivlos raised his trembling hand to his lips and began to lick at blood stained fingers. Red shiny...it tasted good too, it reminded him of dead. He liked dead, the smell the taste...and it was now the raven realized just how hungry he was. Unlike normal children, Keivlo's carrion DNA had left him with a flavor for unusual meals in life.

Ai was almost forgotten. Almost...had it not been for the sounds of Ai's tail swishing Keivlos would have gotten up and left. What an amazing thing...friend? Was that what you called someone you liked? Because his like for Ai was growing by the second. Curious, Keivlos stretched out his hand, "....Does it waaaant a tastesss?"

Ai was curious why the raven boy had taken a sudden interst in his own blood. The sticky red substance tipped his own claws. The rusty scent of that seemed so familiar to the predatory animal yet never had really known it. Most parents don't hand a slab of raw steak to a kid to eat, especially if you don't want them to try and find out if you're food too.

Then there was a hand shoved into is personal space. Yet again, the red substance covered the raven boy's hands too. He had muttered something about tasting it. Ai couldn't see anything wrong with it, and it smelled kind of intersting. He leaned over and licked Keivlos's hand. If there had been any adults near by, there would have been hysterics over the hygenic issues that they had just violated.

"You like red?" Ai'shern wiggled his fngers, motioning to the blood on the tip of his claws. "Red tastes good." He grined with his fanged teeth showing.

It wasn't as if the ravens strange taste in food had been encouraged by his mother. In fact, the first time Keivlos stole a piece of thawing meat of the kitchen counter, Madeline had nearly had a heart attack thinking he would catch something horrible from the raw meat like trichinosis. Thankfully, Keivlos' DNA allowed him special circumstances when it came to his meals. He was programmed to like flesh and other rotting material, what would send most kids to the hospitale sent a burst of flavor along his tastebuds. It was simple, he liked dead, dead meant rotting...or at least it would be soon.

White teeth began to appear one by one as the smile on Keivlos face grew. Yesss, yes...the red shiny was good. Soon his fingers were clean, he would have smeared his hand up again to feed his friend, but the bleeding had stopped. It was a shame, Keivlos was eager to share his hidden passion, this boy seemed to understand, not many children did.

Backing away Keivlos looked up at Ai, the growl in his tummy roared louder. "More?" came the raven's quiet voice. Even though he said it as a question it was rather more of a command for instantly Keivlos snatched Ai's hand and began running with his friend past the many, many soft walls. The big box, he needed to go through the box...and then he would be out again, out to where it was.

Ah the box, the box! He could see it now...with a rush Keivols held onto Ai's hand as he rammed himself out through the library exit. With a scream Keivlos brought his hands to his eyes. That was right...it burned out here, the yellow in the sky burned.

Ai didn't exactly see what the big deal was about. It taste good but the raven seemed to get hyper active over the fact he liked it too. Then again he hadn't have the negative reinforcement that Kevlos seemed to have. More? Well Ai could scratch him agian if he wanted more, or he could cut himself, which was easier said then done. Before Ai could ponder any longer on the subject, he was already being dragged away by the raven boy.

The sudden burst of sunlight made Ai hiss. He was more of dark loving creature and the sudden sun hadn't been much of a welcome. That is till the sun started to warm his cold scaly skin. The basilisk looked over at the cringing raven and shaded the sun for him. "Does it hurt you?"

The bird was a strange creature indeed, it wasn't as if he should be in pain right now but he was. It is not as if ravens hate the sunlight, in fact the species is more of a daytime creature than night. However, it was Keivlos' eye sight which kept his hand hovering above his face.

Twins at D-corp meant there had been a mistake, some sort of slip up. However, usually the mistake is just a simple one, the embryo splits in two, no big deal, the side effects are minor if anything. At "birth" it had been discovered that the ravens lacked completely normal sight, there one red eye each proof enough of that. Yet, it had been Keivlos whom had gotten it worse than his brother. His left eye, the red, was the better of the two, while his right eye, grey, had horrible sight. His vision was weak at best and the sunlight just made things worse. The dark was better.

Ducking his head down under his tattered shirt the best he could, Keivlos nodded to Ai and began to make his way out onto the lawn. Didn't want to be here any longer than he had too...he just wanted it, wanted the dead, wanted the...grin spread across his lips as he found the carcass of the squirrel laying in the grass.

On there way in the feathery boy had been eyeing it, but a swift tug and a "NO" from Madeline kept his hands at bay. Eagerly now the raven reached out and snatched it, crunching noises coming from his mouth as eagerly chewed at lunch. It was only until he had gotten a good few mouthfuls down that he offered some to Ai. "Taste!" he hissed. Could a basilisk handle such foul cuisine?

Ai just watched the little show Keivlos was putting on by being out in the sun. He was feeliing better about being in the sun now since he had gotten cold in the library. The spines on his back prevented most children's clothing to fit on him with out being torn or shredded. Though while the sun was nice it still was to bright so he followed the raven into the shaded spot.

We moved to see what he was so intersted in and then saw it. The carcass of some small rodent with out much obvious indication to how it died. Then the boy had shoved it quickly into his mouth, enjoying the taste of the dead animal. Ai gave a curious yet disgusted look at at Keivlos. Then it was his turn to try it.

Ai grabbed the remains of the foul thing and opened his mouth full of serrated teeth to eat it. He didn't chew it much and swollowed it whole, bones and all. It tasted extremely bitter on the way down and he had already swallowed it before he could gag it back up. Inn about an hour he would probably find out if he could really handle such a thing as rotting flesh.

"It tasted funny, ish alright."

Once Ai had taken his 'gift' Keivlos promptly rolled back and had himself a seat on the cool grass. It was nice in the dark, dark, the lovely shade, so cool and quiet. It was tempting to lay down at the moment to lay down and--no! Keivlos suddenly stood up again. There would be no sleepy time, no not now ...never sleep, never sleep.

Besides, there was the matter of watching the curious thing with sharp claws enjoying what Keivlos thought was a delicious meal. Yet, much to the boys disappointment it seemed that Ai didn't like his food. Yes, he had eaten it, but unlike Keivlos whom had enjoyed the little morsel so much, the other boy seemed disgusted by the material he had just consumed.

"Ish not funny!" Squawked Keivlos reaching his arms out to flail them terribly close to Ai's face. "YOU FUNNY! FOOD JUST FINE!" He didn't understand exactly why he had gotten so mad, but he had. It's so hard for children to express themselves how they precisely want too, and if Keivlos had known how to show disappointment instead of anger he probably would have found a different channel for his rage.

Just as soon as he had started though he stopped and silently slipped to the ground where he shrank himself as small as he could.

PostPosted: Sat Sep 16, 2006 7:08 pm

"Well it just tastes different." Ai practically yelled. He hadn't ment to say it quite as harsh as he did, but he didn't know a better way to express himself. His tail lashed angryly behind him. He droped to the ground and pouted, staring holes into the ground. He was still hungry and the dead animal was starting to upset his stomach a bit already.

After his short lived pouting he decided maybe he give the raven something. Keivlos had already given him two things already. Ai 'shern looked around but all there was only plants. Wait there was something near the bush. The little monster rushed over to the bush, wresteling with something till it finaly quieted down. He shuffled back over and held his cupped claws in Keivlos's face.

"You want?" he uncurled them to reveal a rabbit that seemed to be frozen but twitched ever so slightly. Was it dead? It was probably just temporarly stunned... hopefully.

It seemed that both children had come to an uncomfortable stand still. Keivlos dissapointed to find that this new plaything did not like the same food as him...and his new plaything dissapointed that Keivlo's had become upset.

Angerly the raven kicked at the ground. Pah! This was stuipd. The silence, the silence, it was starting to hurt his ears. Keivlos bit down upon his bottom lip, restraining the urge to lash out. At least Ai broke the stillness by getting up.

"Huh--?" The tuffts on the raven's head perked up, mis-matching eyes darting about. Hand's reached out to take the trembling present--bunny dead. No, no..not yet. Fingers squeezed and tightened--oh--oh it was kicking! Alive, alive it was full of life--

"KEIVLOS!" Madeline yanked the back of the boys shirt, causing him too loose grip on the rabbit, which dropped to the ground and scrambled away unharmed. "What did I tell you about going away with out telling,---An what's that on your face?! " The teacher was fussing over him so much infact that she barely registered the other child standing next to him.

It was only Keivlos who got to say good by. It was a devlish smile upon his face as his lips opened and closed forming the words, "Bye...bye"
