I've had tanned skin for quite a while but naturally, it's quite a lot more pale. It's getting worse every year with me going out in the sun too much. My skin doesn't get back to it's natural colour very easily and I'm asian so I know that I wouldn't have REALLY pale skin. But does any one know of an afforable (and unpainful xD) way to get rid of tanned skin? heart

The same way I did. XD
I used to be really tan and would stay tan even in the winter. My natural skin colour was also a nice olive tone.
I'm so pale now that people laugh at me and call me liar when I tell them it's not my natural colour. ^^; They tell me I'll burn if I get in the sun (and I don't, I still tan, found that out when I forgot to bring my umbrella with me to a fair, I had longsleeves on, but my chest was exposed and was tan until the summer).
First word. Sunscreen. SPF70 or higher. A small bottle will set you back $10. Aplly it any time before going out into the sun.
Next, jackets and sunbrellas/umbrellas. Take one or the other (or both) with you where ever you go. When you're outsited for more than 5 or 10 minutes, wear your jacket (or use your umbrella), regardless of the wheather. I live in Florida where it can get over 90 degrees F and over 100 degrees F with the heat index. And I still wear my jacket anytime I'm outside (or use an umbrella). Umbrellas are especially useful in theme parks (not only are you shaded and cool, but your family can easily spot your bright red umbrella in the crowd).
Next, try to stay indoors as much as possible. If you must exercise like walking, do it indoors, like a mall or in a club.

This isn't a quick and easy way to get pale. There is no cheap and quick way. This process will take you abiut 2 to 3 years (maybe longer) to get pale. And evne longer to keep the tone even (my arms are still darker than the rest of my body, but my legs have been kept out of the sun for 4 years now and will not tan at all, even with suntan oil).

Lastly, if you can't get as pale as you want, wear a base make up coat similar to your own skintone (it can be applied on arms and legs too) and then apply baby powder lightly and keep building it up until you're as pale as you want to be.

i hear that "Likas Papaya Skin Whitening Herbal Soap" works pretty well- i'm trying to find it for myself! i mean, it's not a quick fix 'get pale!' solution, but i hear it helps lighten the skin if you use it often.

There are actually cosmetic products out there that are really good for this. Most are to slow melanin production and restore brightness to the complexion for people with dark spots from the sun. However, they bring a paler look overall. DHC has a couple systems for brightening, which were recommended in the Gothic and Lolita Hair and Make Bible. (They also recommended DHC's Acerola products.) Clarins has a system as well as Shiseido. (Shiseido also carries knock-out powerful sunblock. XD) A lot of these are pretty pricey, though, so I suggest going the natural route by making it a habit to carry your parasol and wearing sunscreen regularly in high amounts.

I have olive toned skin as well; all I do is wear SPF 60 and try to avoid lots of direct sunlight.

even so; one time my mom and I went to a parade- I wore my spf 60 and she wore no sunscreen at all. we were sitting in the direct sun. When we got home, she was about three shades darker and I had no visible change at all. biggrin and my sister claims sunblock does nothing to help you stay pale.

also, apricot scrub and lemon juice works for your face (I don't know about the rest of the body). it's not quick but it's helpful. I used it alot with no problems but I have heard from some people that it stings. D: it is also is really good for acne.

try "Za" "true white" line. it doesn't make you paler, but it makes your skin more translucent. i'm sorry, miss. it's hard to explain. but it does work. it makes your skin super soft and it looks..... like.... more translucent. and not so shiny.

I'.ve pretty much always been pretty pale..Though recently I've had to be outside more often...I try to find shade...I hate sunscreen, but I'm thinking I may need to start wearing some.. I burn way too easily.

Thanks for all the helpful comments guys. It's just that I tan REALLY easily and then I can't get "de-tanned". sweatdrop I'm going to the mall today so I'll be sure to check out all these recomended products! heart

One more question: We have PE OUTDOORS so.. I'm pretty sure you can't play field hockey witha parasol sweatdrop blaugh So... do you think there's anything else I can do, besides wearing sunscreen? (it's VERY sunny over here D; AND we have to wear shorts and tee shirt as our PE uniform)

So, for lemon juice and apricot scrub, do we just squeeze some lemon juice and apply it? 0___o And is the apricot scrub pre-made and bought? =3

It does sting. >.< It's nice though, makes your skin very soft. <3 The apricor scrub is made by St. Ives and can be found at the grocery store or a drugstore. ^-^ I also make a masque from crushed aspirin, since it's good for your skin, and what I did was I mixed the crushed aspirin, lemon juice, and the scrub until I got a paste-like consistency. Then, I painted it on, left it for an hour, then washed it off. The apricot scrub is very good for washing your face with. ^-^
