First, Anime. I had a lot of songs, but didn't bother to check out the artists.
Then, Gackt.
Nuff said.

I was reading a ton of stuff on FF.Net, many of which were songfics. And some of them repeatedly kept featuring the song Vanilla, by Gackt. So I thought "if all these authors are into the same song, by the same guy, maybe I should check it out."
Instant addiction, one that I'm not intent on curing anytime soon.

It started with anime, like most people. Then I started ooking up popular Japanese bands, and saw the Dir en Grey "Drain Away" PV. I loved Kyo's outfit, so I had to know more. Basically anime and Dir en Grey started me on Japanese music.

On the last day of summer i went to my friend's house with another friend of mine (so there was three of us)
after a while we started goofing around on the computer, and my friend wanted to show us a music video she'd found on youtube. It was morning musume, and i liked the song. She showed us some other stuff they'd done and some stuff of them on google. Once i got home, i looked them up, and downloaded some music. I started really liking it, so I got some more. I decided Japanese music is way better then american, and looked around for more bands to listen to. Now i like it all biggrin

While looking for Ruroni Kenshi screenshots, I somehow managed to (unwittingly) come across a picture of Dir en Grey's Kaoru. I thought it was a cool picture, so I saved it.
Three years later, whilst forum searching, I came across a similar picture and recognized him...and, naturally freaked out. So I downloaded Umbrella (or was it Child Prey...o_o) and I've been hooked ever since...*looks back at the growing pile of Cure magazines*

My friend introduced me to Miyavi...who I became obsessed with. I wanted more, so I decided to download a Gazette song because I liked the name of it. (The $ocial Riot Machine$, this was before I knew what they looked like, as well ;3), and I became obsessed with THEM, as well.
From there, downloaded some Alice Nine, and random tidbits of others here and there.
It'll be a while before I ever listen to American music again. xp

I was introduced to J-rock from a classmate of mine in my senior year in high school. I asked her what music she was into, and she told me that she was into Malice Mizer, Luna Sea, Glay, and Gackt. I checked Malice Mizer, and I was amaze by them. As time went on, I started to collect J-rock CDs, but the majority of them are L'Arc~en~Ciel.

Well it started when i was watching an anime called Gravitation. I really liked the intro song and the others songs in the anime too. Then i came on a site that had Gackt music and i tought: 'i like this music!' And shortly after that i saw a picture of Mana in a magazine and a was amazed by him. So i started to look for the band he was in ( back then it was Malice Mizer) And i found the Beast of Blood PV on youtube and watched it over and over again. And now i'm a J-rock addict! 3nodding

Well a friend of mine from high school hooked me up with a few tracks from Hyde and Gackt. I sort of grew to it after Gackt's "Another World" was seen by me on Youtube not that long ago. Since then, I have found bands and singers like Alice Nine, Malice Mizer and Kimeru.
