Frittilaria was up and about. Being under the watchful gaze of Rasulli more often than not she was strangely alone today. With that in mind she had decided to find Mafa. The Alfa female made the little skunk like femme strive to be just like her. Though Frittilaria was not quite as bold, adventorous or brave as her sister, she still held tightly to her dreams. She wanted to be a real hyena, a hyena like her father, strong, powerful, wild. She remembered the stories he used to tell of the graveyard, how it was the most amazing place. She had never doubted it and now she lived within the bones under the most powerful of leaders. Mafa.

Coming down the track that all the hyenas in the graveyard seemed to know, she stared up at the huge elephant skull. She knew full well that this was Mafas resting place, a place of honor, a place for the leader. It made her heart swell with joy that she could be in the presence of such a female and not be killed on sight. She was not as strong as her sister, but she strived to meet the expectations of those around her. Rasulli was teaching her well the ways of the graveyard. Still, she wondered, what would it be like to be tutored by the pack alfa, after all, such an amazing beast must know everything.

On clawed paws she stopped before the elephant skull, looking a little worried. How was she to contact Mafa? Was she allowed to just call? Or did she have to wait for her top appear? Doubts started to cloud the youngsters mind and she sighed. she wasn't entirely sure how to call mafa, surely she couldnt' just go waltzing int o the alfas den! That was just, unthinkable!

Thankfully, for the young hyena, she needn't look far or try hard to obtain the alpha's attention. Mafa wasn't actually in her den, but she was always roaming about nearby. After dropping Mabozi off in some area she knew there was no possible way he could get himself into trouble under the watchful eye of one of the pack members, she wandered off and headed back to her den. The timing was quite perfect, for as soon as Mafa crested the hill that led to her skull, she noticed the black and white hyena pawing up to it as well. Momentarily, Mafa growled, her instincts not wanting anyone near her den.

But alas, she remembered this young pup and her sister to be very promising members of the pack, she had no grudge against this one. Putting on her most regal posture, Mafa stalked over to her den, coming up behind the pup quitely, her cold, aqua eyes narrowed. When she spoke, her tone wasn't cruel, just monotonous and blunt, Mafa was a to the point kind of creature,

"Frittalaria, correct? What business have you with me?"

Fritt tried not to jump and look startled, though it was quite difficult, the Alpha had surprised her by coming up from behind. Laying flat on the ground the navy eyed femme looked up, her ears were flattened tightly against her head and her tail crept between her legs. "I'm sorry ma'am" the pup squeeked trying to sound brave rather than squeeky and frightened. Mafas gaze seemed cold, calculating, frightening and the pup was quite frankly, shitting a brick. Swallowing hard Frittilaria took a deep breath before speaking again, retaining her subservient posture. "Yes Ma'am my name is frittilaria, I came to see you." She paused for a moment her pink tongue lapping out to lick her dark lips. "Rasulli has been training me well ma'am but he always says you are the greatest. I wondered..I wondered if you could teach me to..to kill a lion.." She bit her tongue the tip sticking out between her lips just slightly, her eyes dancing with admiration as she stared at the huge figure before her.

The dark eyed pups tail flicked slightly as she gazed up in hopeful reverance, if there was anyone who could teach her to kill a lion she was pretty sure it was mafa! Such a creature, she must have killed thousands of those blood sucking hair bags! And when mafa taught her she would impress her sister and Rasulli with her knowlege, gl;eamed straight fromt he master herself.

Mafa watched the young pup's reaction with a calculating gaze. It was refreshing, to see someone cower before her. All of her subordinates she be this submissive, but alas, most weren't. As long as she had total control, she was fine with it though. The powerful female gazed down at the young pup, so much potential to be great, and the young thing was right at her paws. As malleable as putty, for Mafa to sculpt as she wished. It was a thing of beauty, in Mafa's mind. Control, total control. The mention of Rasuli put Mafa into an even better mood. He was doing well, very well. She was extremely glad for roping him in back when he was a young pup. As the young female kept talking, a cruel and rather scary smile spread across Mafa's features. What a wonderful request!

"Yes... Yes, something every good hyena needs to know. It'd be my pleasure to teach you that, Frittalaria."

Mafa rose up her head proudly. Not only would they go rough up a lion for her own pleasure, but it would be a learning experience. What a day!

Frittilarias tail finally unlooped from between her legs as Mafa aggreed to her request. Her feathery tail lashed like mad and her eyes danced in a pleased manner. "You to me great honor Ma'am" she whispered her deep blue pools looking to the alfa, she was excited, no, more than excited, delighted! To be taught such a thing by the alfa herself, the slender pup suddenly felt empowered, braver than before. She had taken the innitiative and perhaps gained a place in the Alfas heart in one foul swoop?

Slowly the little female rose though she kept her head bowed and her ears clapped tightly against her pale mane of fur. She didn't want to look like she was trying to push the Alfa, she wished to remain respectful always to this most powerful of adults. She was excited though. They were going to kill a lion! This would be an adventure to remember she was certain.

Mafa nodded, the malicious smile still plastered on her maw. She was pleased to see the pup come out of her shell a little, but still remain submissive to her. It took so little to keep Mafa content. All she wanted was total obedience and loyalty, was that too much to ask? She took her gaze from the skunk hyena and took a few steps away from her den, eyes peeled and looking toward the horizon. Without looking back to the hyena, she spoke,

"Ever killed before? Has Rasuli been teaching you to hunt?"

First things first, they did need to start with the basics. And they needed to find a lion, but there were plenty hanging around.

"Yes Ma'am he's been teaching me to kill smaller things, hares and the like, but they don't take much to kill Ma'am they don't even fight back!" She states her head lifting slightly now the Alfa's back was turned to her. Taking to her paws she followed the imposing figure of her leader obediently, her shoulder in ling with the alfas flanks. her head raising high now, she was feeling very proud of herself and why wouldn't she be? Mafa was willing to teach her, one day she would be powerful, just like Mafa.

"I'm not frightened though" she stated flicking her white fringe from her sweet blue eyes. Okay she was a little frightened, lions were huge creatures! But Mafa was even bigger and she could see the alfa knew what she was doing. Her heart skipped a beat and she grinned broadly. This was great! She would so be able to brag about this to her sister and to rasulli, Rasulli would be so proud of her!

A dark red, rusty brown adolescent lion roamed quietly, the only real sounds his labored breathing and the sound of his left hind leg dragging in the dirt and bones. Today wasn't turning out to be his day, during the night he assumed he must have made a terribly wrong turn and now he was unsure as to his exact location. The large white bones scared him and he wasn't exactly sure why; he'd never seen an elephant before.

He was far from home that was sure, the Kusini lands were far off, and he had been visiting the Pridelands looking for clues about his past' with no avail, it was starting to get tiresome, walking constantly and his pace was quick but was slowly beginning to drag. The entire fiber of his journey was quickly starting to fray, he wanted desperatly to know where his mother came from if he had a father.

The lion was a big 'dope,' and acted much like the annoying little brother, he was never taught to fight, and didn't even know what a hyena was...needless to say he was an easy target.

Mafa nodded wisely as Frit informed her. She agreed, prey animals were not a challenge at all, but they were a start. And since she had already been introduced into the small stuff, a lion was much in order. The patter of young paws on the dusty ground let Mafa know that the young female was following her, and with that assurance, Mafa set off toward the North.

"Good, there is nothing to fear."

After a bit of walking, Mafa's senses were alerted to another presence. A slight breeze played on her mane, bringing the scent of their intended prey their way. Mafa smiled upon her little 'lucky wind', and took a turn in the direction it was coming from. Soon enough, a lion appeared over the horizon. It's dark, rusty pelt easily gave away its position as it contrasted the dull gray rather well. Mafa growled and chuckled sadistically. It was a smaller lion, not full grown yet, and it looked a bit worse for wear, this would be fun.

"Up ahead, we found one."

Frittilaria stopped hdead when the lion swam in to their view, her big blue eyes reflected the bright colouration of the beast and she gave a small, quiet laugh "What do we do?" she whispered her white bangs cascading over her sweet blue eyes. Flickering her fringe from ehr gaze she turned an admireing eye to Mafa, this would be fun! he was eagre to learn, eager to watch, eager to participate.

Licking her dark lips her tongue lolled for second as excitement over took her caution and she readied herself for Mafa's orders. What ever the leader said she would do. To prove herself a likely warrior, a brave soldier, worthy of the leaders reverence, she would do what ever she was asked. This lion was going down!

Hasidi had to be one of the least perceptive lions in the entire world, he had never learned to hunt, leading to the fact that he only knew the scent of few things, hyenas not one of them. He'd never seen or heard of a hyena save once, his pink cheetah friend had talked about being chased by one.

So prying eyes were not met back with the young lions gaze, his face was to the ground; his posture sagging and he looked about ready to faint, wouldn't be much of a hunt, now would it?

Mafa's ears fell back, her pace and breathing becoming almost silent. She hunkered down slighty; she was going into hunting mode. Mafa barely registered Frit's question. She simply gestured to the frumpy looking lion with her head, not a word just yet. The female crept forward, and the closer she got, the more she realized that this would be the world easiest kill to make in the history of lion mauling. This lion definitely wasn't a naitive, she bet Frit could take this thing out all on her own! It was then that an idea popped into Mafa's head. She'd let Frit do it all on her own, and if she needed help, she'd be right behind her. If Mafa got into the fight, the lion'd be down in minutes. She paused, her head turning to Frit in a whisper,

"This one is yours Frittalaria, I will be behind you, but he is yours to take down"

Mafa gave the young female a genuinely malicious smile and suddenly lept forward, landing only yards away from the lion. Her cold, and evil filled aqua eyes zeroed in on the lion, glaring at it in contempt. When she spoke, her voice was raspy and filled with malintent. This was definitely not a welcome wagon for this poor, lost lion,

"Boo."

Frittilaria let out one of those familiar hyena laughs, her voice though quieter because she was younger held all of that deep malicious nature she wished to convey to their prey. Appearing behind the hulking form of the grey female the blue eyed femme creapt forwards her mouth open in a quiet growl "Hey kitty have you come for lunch?" she yipped her dark eyes filled with a bold confidence. With Mafa behind her she couldn't loose this was going to be easy pickings. She wondered what did lion taste like? She'd find out soon enough.

Her plumy tail flickered in the air as she circled around the youngish lion, he was hers for mauling? What an honor! The master herself was allowing HER to take the lead, shed the first blood, make the first wound, taste the first flesh.

Frittiliaria was no fool though, she knew her best vantage point would be to circle around the lion while it'a ttention was on Mafa and take out it's back legs.Like all predators she knew if she snapped the ancle tendon the beast would fall and she could have her way with it mauling and ripping, tearing with those powerful, if some what young jaws, until it died of either blood loss or exhaustion.

Even better the thought, this was a lion, an enemy of her people and she would take it out, one less peice of scum to deal with in THEIR graveyard the rightful home of the hyenas.

"What..hello..?" He shivered involuntarily at both of their strange laughter. All of the muscles in his body went taunt instinctivly, he was feeling threatened and was unsure how to deal with the situation. HE was unperceptive and the smell of the grave yard disoriented him, there was no telling how long these hyenas had been looking or following him, "Are you wild dogs?" he asked curiously looking at both of thier fierce demeanors. This was not a good place to be for the earth toned male, not a good place at all.

"Lunch..no, I'm lost can you help?" Terror filled his voice and again he was confused, they wanted to give him food? They didn't seem friendly. His ears flicked and his mind wandered to what is friend had said, hyenas were like wild dogs that had tufts of hair..oh no..

"You wont hurt me will you?"

Mafa rose her head, compelled by this wonderful turn of fate, and let out an eerie and powerful laugh, that classic one her species was so known for. Now, with the voice of the two hunting hyenas ringing in the air, Mafa found the atmosphere quite complete. She prowled closer to the lion, keeping one eyes on Frit, and another on the lion. If he tried to lash out at her little 'student' she'd have him down in seconds. The ignorant beast. She licked her chops, there would be good eatings tonight,

"Lost? Oh dear, how unfortunate"

Her voice was laced with mockery. She found him pathetic and not worthy of any sympathy. Mafa felt his tension, he was scared of them, how perfect was this?

"Of course we can help, by putting you out of your damn misery, you scum"

Mafa's voice changed to a malicious one, she was no longer joking around. He was going down. No way anything got away with confusing a beast as noble as a hyena with a lowly wild dog. Unacceptable!
