(( RPing Lance at 25% ))
The massive television illuminated his dull countenance, the images of Alan Rickman and Bruce Willis reflecting off the tinted lenses of a pair of sunglasses donning his head of bleached, blonde hair.
Lance had been lounging on one of the couches of the Entertainment Room for almost an hour (the lights dimmed to enhance his movie-viewing experience) and he hoped to continue Die Hard in peace. One hand wrapped securely around a combination drink of Jack Daniels and Coke, the other resting on his bare stomach, now coated in a considerable amount of dark hair, he looked limp as a ragdoll while he struggled to distract himself from the pain in his temples, a result of emerging bone- horns- from his head.
His lips moved in silence as he mouthed the familiar quotes. "Do you really think you have a chance against us, Mister Cowboy?"

(Doing Alexa at 100%)
Alexa had been around for quite some time. She'd seen the island's ups and downs, but was really yet to see someone just barely into transformation. Everyone she'd met so far had either been completely transformed or still untouched. Well, now the lemur girl was finally done with the painful, bone twisting, spine elongating process. She was used to eating only fruit and nectars now, and enjoyed how easy it was to stay in shape. Hanging from a rafter by one's feet was ALSO very interesting for her.
She decided perhaps a lazy, out of the duplex day was in order. Stretching out, she headed down from her room, making her way down the hallway that lead to the entertainment room. What could be better than kicking back and watching a movie, especially when you had a big fluffy tail to curl up with?
Coming round the corner, she stopped. Hmmmph. Someone was already here, watching... well she didn't know what. Didn't recognize it. Didn't recognize him either. But, she was observant enough to notice he seemed somewhat lackadaisical, and also that he was growing horns. Bovine. She sauntered in slowly, coming to the back of the couch and leaning over it, propping herself up with her hands and using her tail to balance. "Howdy." She said simply, as if mocking both the movie's quote and the soon to be bison-man.

"Yipee-ki-yay, ********> Came John McClane's reply from the television.
The man dragged his brown eyes away from the screen morosely, partially fearing who- or what the feminine voice belonged to. He flinched upon settling his eyes on the furry creature behind him, a lemur not being an animal he was particularly familiar with, and swallowed dryly before redirecting his attention to the movie.
Was she mocking him? Perhaps it were better that he wore a shirt, no matter how itchy the damn thing was now. Perhaps he should abandon the belt buckle as well? Some people- animals- things didn't seem to appreciate the style. He sat up a litte straighter subconciously.
"Hullo." He managed. If she were expecting a "howdy" back, then she'd just have to be dissapointed.

She watched as his brown eyes moved to meet her blue-green ones, and cast a slight smile down at him. It was a teasing smile, a playful one. She wasn't one for genuine kindness. That, and she was wearing very little. A simple strapless bra of sorts, blue against her red and black fur, black thong and a pair of tight jeans. Fur or no, she liked her style. Hmmph. He was hairy... and somewhat boring. Alexa was in a playful mood today.
She moved her body ever so slightly, as if she was shifting her weight, making her slimming figure even more noticable, even behind the fur and short muzzle. "New? Haven't seen you around before..." Her eyes studied him, giving him a very open once-over. She considered coming around to sit, but hadn't yet made up her mind.

Lance gnashed his teeth against the throbbing pain migrating to the back of his skull, lifting his drink to his thin lips and watching the female- whatever it was- over the rim of the cup. "Yeah, I'm pretty new." He had a deep, chesty voice and a velvet drawl.
His eyes ventured back to the television and half-lidded dully when Alexa's intentions became blantantly apparent, his free hand rising to scratch the tuft of hair at the end of his chin to subtley indicate he wasn't in the mood for any shenanigans. He just wanted to watch people shooting each other.

Alexa frowned slightly. Maybe becoming part lemur had dulled the attractiveness of her features somehow? She was actually quite fond of her boa-like tail. Well, perhaps it really was time for her to stop being the way she used to be... afterall, she had someone... even though teasing had always been a favorite hobby of hers. She sighed softly, glancing toward the tv and taking a seat on the arm rest.
"So, anything else worth watching around?" She asked idly, not bothering to glance at him. She curled her tail around her side, sheilding her lower half as she did so. Her ears flicked a bit as a stray thought bounded through her head, but it was fleeting and quickly was gone.

Lance hadn't intended to dispirit the young... female, but his recent step towards the American Bison had left him sore, tired, itchy and with a lingering feeling of helplessness, and in turn, anger boiling beneath his easy-going surface. His thoughts muddled by the ache, he struggled to sound more inviting the second time around. How else was he going to make friends on this island? Make it all a little less painful?
"Well, I'm in the middle o' this movie, but I've seen it half o' dozen times already." His Adam's apple bobbed uneasily. "I could move out if you want to watch somethin', Miss...?"
To demonstrate, he picked his drink off of the arm rest and pushed himself up effortlessly.

At that, she frowned slightly. Time on the island had mellowed her out some, and she knew now it wasn't a good time to push this new islander. Afterall, he seemed irritable somewhat, like perhaps his first change had been recent. She thought back to her first, remembering the pain, the itching and burning, the fevers and horrid dreams. A small shudder ran up her spine, standing her fine red fur on end for a moment or two before it smoothed out again.
"No, it's fine. The name's Alexa..." She said, offering him her hand. Yeah, it had longer nails and a slightly rougher texture, not to mention the fur around the pads, but it was still for the most part human. Turning into a (bleck) primate had it's benefits. She toyed with the idea of offering him a foot as well, seeing as they were basically the same, but decided not to weird the poor man out more than necessary. As fun as it was to play around, she could see he wasn't in the mood. She just... well... always was.

The man collapased back onto the couch gratefully, falling limp as a ragdoll with a small "pop" of his knee. He was of impressive build, but he was older, having already left his twenties behind.
He smiled warmly in response and took the hand in his own enthusiastically, attempting to make up for his bad manners by refusing to flinch at the feel of fur. His face was still quite boyish despite his recent change, which brought forth hair of a dark color creeping along his jawline to meet at a lengthy, comical beard.
"Name's Lance." He dragged one leg up to rest a bare foot on the edge of the cushion comfortably. "It's nice to meet ya, Alexa."

"Lance," she parrotted, enjoying his enthusiastic handshake and returning the favor. She had noticed the small pop, and the older appearance of the man. Somehow, her enhanced senses allowed her to calculate his age more closely. At first, Alexa was unsure as to if he'd be a worthy friend on the island or not, but now she was certain he was simply having a bad day. She ignored his movement, and the bare foot. Bare feet were rather unclean... And she'd adapted to wearing sandles with her hand-like feet to keep them clean. But, she didn't comment on anything, nor flinch.
The dark face remained a mask, as per usual, and she brushed a stray, curly lock from her face, tucking it neatly behind her upraised ears, hidden by the ruff of crimson and white fur. "Good meeting you too." She replied brightly, another contagious grin spreading across her muzzle, once again revealing almost feline-quality teeth. Lemurs were strange animals, afterall.

Lance had never considered himself shy, nor a very unskilled conversationalist, but here, in this room with this once-human, bipedal lemur, he found himself at a loss for words.
Obviously, she had been here for quite awhile, but Lance had not. His fears were by now quite numerous, and no matter how irrational, he simply couldn't supress the occasional whimper in his throat. Even now, he was wary of making a wrong move or saying something absurd. His life in Louisiana could never have prepared him for situations like this. Were lemurs poisonous? No, they were just like monkeys, right? Like raccoons and monkeys together, right?
He cleared his throat and wet his lips. "So, Alexa..." He ventured. "About how long have you been here? I haven't seen many people, and I dun really go out as often as I'd like t'. It ain't really often I get to talk with someone quietly."

She sat in the somewhat awkward silence for a moment or two, wondering what he might be thinking, but not venturing to ask. Obviously, the island put everyone in a weird light... but at least they were all in the same boat. All eventually going to turn into products of this vile, yet sterile environment. Of course, for a new changeling, it must be hard. Alexa didn't remember much from her first few days with fur, but she remembered the pain, and that was enough for her.
She wondered if he was thinking there might be a way to throw the lemur inside her off. Little did he know, a lemur was practically harmless. Yes, they did have sharp teeth, but it was only so they could properly chew fruits and clean themselves. Other than that, there was very little violent looking about a creature such as herself, and rightfully so. The only thing he'd have to be careful of was her deep bond with the inner lemur's dominance. However, she'd always been dominant over the men in her life, so it wasn't much of a change, nor hard for her to control.
"A year, or so, I'd say..." she said, gazing off in thought for a moment or two. "There aren't many unchanged people running about... I guess Moreau's got no need to find more, at the moment." She casually observed the barely bison-man, searching for any nervous ticks to give her a clue to what he might be thinking. Reading people had been one of her fortes, but it was somewhat askew now with the new senses set in. "Most people suffer from their changes too much to let themselves have conversations... But most also come to terms sooner or later."

It pained him to carry on the conversation, for as much as he'd love to ignore the Island and it's goings-on, it was all around him and completely unavoidable. He was going to be just like everyone else, with the next step- when it would happen and what it would bring- an irritating mystery. He could no longer live by "Ignorance is bliss".
"Well, I guess ah kin understand that." He rumbled, somewhat relieved by the fact that the lemur-woman looked unperturbed for the most part. And she had been there a year!
The man showed no outward signs of ill temper. The only thing that really disturbed his features was a knit brow and a tight-lipped frown. Suddenly, he became aware of his naked upper torso and immediately apologized for it in the manner a Southern gentleman ought to.

She could see it in him that it was somewhat painful to be here, to be forced into this. She understood. Sure, he didn't know how she came to the island or what had happened to force her to accept her fate, but she still understood. She'd had possibly the worst wake up call allowed with the ordeal she'd been through... but she got through it. Lance didn't look like a pushover, but she knew he was battling some inner thoughts. She wanted to comfort him, suddenly. She didn't know where the instinct came from, but she wanted to offer support. She just didn't know what to say.
When he became aware of his bare chest, she shook her head, laughing it off. She'd seen plenty more than that, and came from a place where that wasn't a problem. She took the time to explain this, hoping he'd understand and ease up a bit, but knowing old habits died hard. After a pause, she glanced back to the tv. "I should probably let you get back to your movie..." She said it somewhat apologetically, eyes narrowing slightly as she watched the clip roll by.

Lance's frown was quickly replaced with a sheepish grin at her laughter. He shifted in his spot and drew his other leg up, crossing his arms over his broad chest while he took the opportunity to recline back. The general atmosphere certainly had altered since the moment Alexa had strolled in, and he was glad for it. She wasn't hostile or overwhelmingly depressed or anything like that... Hell, maybe this woman would be his ticket to understanding the island a little better.
"Naw, it's fine. I told ya I'd seen it half a dozen times." A nonchalant shrug followed by a comforting chuckle. "I could almost tell you the entire story word fer word if you had an hour or two."
Lance shook his drink, a habitual action that he used to tell how much fluid remained in his cup, and by the sound of it there wasn't much anything but ice.
"I'm probably gonna go down to the beach, if you were interested." But the subtext of his tone implied that he simply wanted protection. "Ah might stop by my apartment-type thing to get a shirt first, though."
