Kali lay on her bed looking to the ceiling of her large extravagant room it had one window looking out to the sky. It was in the very top of the tower of the city, her father cornelius was always out now he was working on some weapon. Kali woke the day after she had received Embodiment of chains from her prayers to anima. This would be it; she would finally escape from her prison of cotton and wooden beams in the grand halls of the tower. She jumped to her feet from her bed and unbuttoned her sleeve to show her tattoo that went from her shoulder to the palm of her hand. she scraped her nail across her palm with the tattoo on and placed it on the floor.

"Now my summon, come forth and free me from my nightmare. Embodiment of chains"

A glyph lit up on the ground with the symbol for anima then chains came from the floor like it was water and then twisted into a sphere that kept moving in the air. it had an eye on the body of the chains that glowed a blood red. It scared Kali as she stepped back biting her hand where the blood dripped from it.

".. You obey me, yes monster?"

the Embodiment of chains formed a head with the eye to the right side of it and it shock it up and down as its chains curled around the hole of the room. The beast almost seemed to merge with the room making it come to life.

"..good... take me from this tower, take me to the fields i see every day from the edge of the patio."

the chains curled up her legs and arms like many snakes onto a tree.

"What are you doing?"

the Embodiment of chains pulled her to it and the wall with the window on burst from the tower like a cork of a bottle top. the chains then spread like fire out and on to the towers wall. with kali in its embrace it pushed away from the tower shooting like the wind to the far reaches of the city. the red eye looked at kali like it was watching over her, it made her feel safe more safe then she ever felt, it was almost like a mothers embrace, not painful but strong. Then as they fell to the ground covered in grass kali screamed but she calmed when the chains it the ground first and slowed the fall, then uncurled from her so she could stand on the grass.

her footing was firm but she fell to the ground, her boots not being enough. She needed to feel it, the cold wet feel of grass, freedom in her hands..then she looked at the blood dripping from her hand and the red eye looked down too. The Embodiment of chains had some of the cushions from kali's room on its chains. It used the rags and bandaged up her hand. it was like a giant spider now with 7 legs all around her and a sphere body only the eye in the sphere kept looking at her like it knew nothing but her.

"Thank you Embodiment of chains"

She then got to her feet and started to walk out to the sea, she so wanted to see it. The Embodiment of chains followed with no sound, changing form as it moved into a 4 legged like reptile shape. Walking like one but had no head just an eye. kali just walked normally she felt so comfortable with the beast it didn't feel odd at all to walk with it. her dark purple hair moved around free as the sea air hit it she smiled so happy to be free.

Kali pointed at the monster and commanded her Embodiment of chains like the summoner she was.

"Use your chains and bind all its legs."

The Embodiment of chains moved fast over the sand and hooked one to its slimly legs and tried to grip tightly but it slipped through the metal chains of the Embodiment.

"Dam it!"

Kali didn’t know all of Embodiment of chain’s attacks yet and was unsure of its skills. The squid sprayed a black acid at them and tried to get kali. She hissed in anger but Embodiment of chains shielded her and she tried to learn his attacks as he moved."

"Embodiment of chains use one of you more powerful attacks"

The Embodiment of chains morphed into a new shape and looked like a knight with his eye in the head of the form. It held out its hands and they glowed purple and red. The Embodiment of chains was a dark monster and could maybe learn dark spells as it got stronger but for now it only had its dark energy. Embodiment of chains attacked the squid and squeezed its head, green blood dripped from it as it did so. the squid wrapped around Embodiments body.

"Embodiment of chains disassemble and attack from behind"

Kali said and without hesitating the chain beast did so; its chains fell to bits and slivered like many snacks to the other side of the monster.

"Now obliterate it."

Kali demanded with a twisted look and the Embodiment of chains sliced its arm through the head of the squid like a long spear. the monster fell limp to the sand.

"Good work Embodiment of chains"

Kali then held out her hand and the tattoo on its glowed red. Then the Embodiment of chains disappeared like a blur into the scenery. Kali walked along the sand past the squid looking for a new place to see.

Risa made her way with andreas then left the ship as he bid her farewell and she nodded. she hated to admit it but she was become very excited by this new journey. she walked across the country field making her way towards the city, she could sense the people she sought were not there but she wanted to take a quick look anyway.

Risa walked thought the city entrance into the squalor that laid before her from the outside it looked pretty impressive, but once in the gates you could see the reef raff that lay around in the slums. she sneered and held her nose as she walked past looking down at the people on the streets. after a brief walk she spotted the structure in the centre now that was more like it a marvel of technical genius with impressive weaponry to boot, she smiled thinking of the power behind thous things and the destruction they were capable of.

"aww, how exciting"

when she peered over to the side she saw there was quite a bit of commotion going on.

"hmm, i wonder what’s going on?"

"find her even if it means tearing this place apart!"

"hmm, interesting"

Risa watched the solders carefully as the barged there way into homes and looked at people closely in the streets. this girl they were seeking was obviously important to them she wondered who she could be.

well whoever she was it was not an ideal situation for her to be in if they decided to search her or keep her confined it would not do.

"hey you there."

great one of the foolish guards had spotted he, she backed into one of the alley ways.

"no use hiding. come out at be searched. if your hiding the girl we wil find out."

risa smirked under her hair as she looked up at him and drew her dagers from behind her back.

"who says im hiding. i just didn’t want to cause to much attention to myself."

she pulled out the daggers and the man drew his gun. but the man looked on baffeled as she began to juggle them and with a swift action she sent them straght towards the mans chest. a spray of blood followed after a thud to the ground. she smiled under her black lips and dragged the man into the allet seeing what money he had on him and licking the blood of her daggers before placing them back in her belt.

in the city's slums there is a meeting of all the low life that would do anything for money, they gathered in an old mine that had got dry sometime ago. they all talked as they waited for the man who called them here to show himself.

he walked up on to a raised platform with another man carrying two large bags that made a rattling metal sound upon hitting the ground. The host took of a hood that hid his face. It was Metatrus he had his armour hidden still and so no one knew him.

"thanks for coming my friends."

"we’re not your friends, you said there would be easy money to be made."

"indeed there is and it will be grand."

he pointed out of the cave to the upper part of the city and smiled.

"how would you like to be set free in the rich city with guns to steel and take all you want."

"hahah, whatever. no one can get up there with a gun and with out a pass, which all costs way to much money and guns, there not that easy to come by as well."

the second man unbuttoned the bags and rolled them out to show a abundant supply of guns from the mackina factory in the high levels of the city.

"there is one answer for you sir and the next is here.” He pointed down the cave “ for the past 3 weeks i have dug to one of the higher mines and now you can feel free to run crazy."

"ok, what’s the catch?"

"nothing, go now"

"what, this second."

"take the offer or leave it?"

there was a moment of silence and one man walked up and picked a gun up shooting it at the roof. it was fully loaded and went of with out a floor.

"hell, i say why not" the men all looked shocked and talked amongst themselves. they where all durt and hungry and they was like dream come true for them to get there own back on the higher levels.

Metatrus walked past them and the second man followed him and he stood at the cave entrance. well ill let you do as you wish. the people all picked up guns and in a moment of group foolishness walked through the cave to start an angry mob.

once they had headed out, the man spoke to Metatrus.

"its been weeks but you completed what u wanted. now i need the last bit of my money, you’ve been kind so far."

"Indeed take it, my friend."

he put a bag of gil in his hands and he grined opening it. but as he looked down he shook as blood dripped on the coins from his moth. as a sword stuck through his body and Metatrus said in a cold voice.

"i pay my debts but you can't be found out."

he then left the man bleeding on the floor but he was dead already. Metatrus walked through the cave to keep his plan going.

on the higher level now alarms where going off and there was some fires. the armed people ran around like mad men and the night covered city was infested with their scum. Metatrus was much more stealthy and he made his way to the central building of the city and had crept his way in through the chaos.

his three week plan had worked out well. he snuck in the shadows all the way to the office block, all the men were out trying to stop the righting so it was easy to get this far. there where now more men heavily armed. he pulled a sword from his side and a shield out. about six men where down this corridor and he waited in the room at the end. he ran down his cloak rose up behind him and his Arvardia armour showed under it. the guns of the guards shot at him but the bullets ricocheted of his metal armour and his shield protected his face. he swung his sword and cut down the men with ease, nothing like this had ever happened before there would be no reason. Metatrus smiled as his slain foes blood dripped from his face.

at the door he open it to seen President cornelius. standing talking on a phone.

"i don’t care if its never been done before send the mackina soldiers into the city and have them take out the scum attacking the 1st level." with that he looked from his window and saw the large tank like dots move into the city. they would handle the men with no problem and Metatrus new this would happen and didn't care. he walked in slowly as cornelius back was turned.

he was on the phone again.

"yes i know the makiner is working, as it should. what about my little girl. Finaly, Avalon city in the sky you say, well what are you doing get a airship ready on the roof for me, ill pick her up once all the mobs are gone and close that mine up with explosives. Its where they came from."

with a grin for finding out where his only air was Metatrus walked up behind cornelius he stabbed his sword into his back and he span his arms around in pain crying out.

"ARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"

he pulled a large gun from his belt and looked at Metatrus seeing his Arvardia armour. he grabbed it and tried to shoot the man but Metatrus pulled the gun from his hands. on the phone he said.

"Arvardiaaaaaaaaaaa"

the man on the other side of the phone said. "sorry.. sir we sent the air ship with your pilot... what did you mean Arvardia "
with his sword still in the dead President's back Metatrus walked to the stairs that where to the far right of this office room and headed to the roof.

the President lay dead on his table as soldiers ran in. they ran to the roof for the murderer, all they saw was a dead body on the floor, the pilot and the airship flying off. it wouldn't be stopped, it was the Presidents and it was too late to stop him. Metatrus laughed at the wheel of the ship.

"My second stage of work is done, It is time to leave for the last."

kali nodded and the summon came in on the side of the shore and kali jumped off followed by Edouard. she held her hand up and then it glowed a bright red. the summons head fell and his chains unravelled and were adsorbed by kalis hand. she grinned. her tattered clothes blew in the dusty wind of her home land. she took a moment to think back to Risa and the others. but she had no need for these chains of friendship to bind her down so she looked ahead to her new kingdom of metal.

"let us go Edouard, my anger grows with each passing moment of the things you say."

she walked to the wall of the slum and didn't stop. the people gave them looks as they headed to the grand pillar in the centre of the slums. the smell of dirt and trash filled the air.

"i must change this place too when i ascend to my throne."

she lifted her sleeve and smelt it.

"although i am so dirty too, so i mustn't judge them for that."

they came to a metal gate that guarded a lift to the upper slums. she opened the metal gate and two makina bots came out with guns aimed at the both of them and said in a droid like voice

"stop. no low level civilians are aloud beyond this point."

kali just walked in giving a wave to Edouard as he still followed. she was being aimed upon but at the last moments the bots shut down and moved away.

kali thought back to her father, as cold as he was, he gave her a lot of things as a child. she remembered him talking with her once, you are my daughter and this world of makina will some day be yours so i have made it so any bots built by my city can not hurt you or i.

"hmm my father, always thinking of his investments in others."

kali pulled a card from her pocket and swiped it over a spot on the wall and the red light changed to green. The doors slid open and kali walked in with Edouard, the doors slided closed and the lift shoot up.
