To make a long story short- I wanna learn Mandarin and music helps me learn. Unfortunately, when I listen to Chinese singers I don't really know WHAT Chinese they're singing in.
So if anyone could tell me a few good Mandarin singers...much appreciated lol sweatdrop blaugh heart .

I'm Mandarin! There are a lot of good singers out there; some were already named... I'm guessing that few people here have heard of her, but Stefanie San Yan Zi is one of my personal faves. Although she's from Singapore, her Mandarin songs are really pretty. heart I would suggest listening to some of her songs on Youtube. ^^

I'm not all that in touch win Chinese music either...sadly, can't even connect to my own heritage, haha. The main problem is that I don't have a source for it. But I do have/recommend the following:
Jay Chou (Zhou Jie Lun) S.H.E. Jill Hsu JJ Lin (Lin Jun Jie) Michael Kong (Guang Liang) Landy Wen A-Mei (Zhang Hui Mei) Elva Hsiao F4 F.I.R. Fahrenheit Jolin Tsai Coco Lee Wang LeeHom
Coco Lee also sings in Canto.
Jay Chou, S.H.E., A-Mei, Landy, Elva, Jolin, F4, F.I.R., and Fahrenheit are all Taiwanese. JJ Lin is Singaporean. Guang Liant is Malaysian but big in Taiwan. Wang LeeHom is Taiwanese-American. So yeah...I'm Taiwanese, so you can guess why I know these in particular. XD

Ying Tao Bang [Cherry Boom]
THE Best! I think they're, like, the only all-girl Chinese rock/punk band in Taiwan. whee
