Goddamn dream. Maryke couldn't put it out of her head. It seemed to be plaguing her whole thought process and while normally when she had bad dreams, even some worse then she had last night, she'd still forget about them as soon as she woke up. What was the point in crying over that stuff, not when she had a whole day of, well more island 'fun'. But oh no, the madam just couldn't seem to pull her mind out of it. It seemed foreboding somehow. Geez, like she really wanted to think like THAT. At least she didn't have a headache. It did feel like her system was cleaner somehow. Like she had just stayed at a spa and cleansed for the week. Yeah something like that.

Too bad it couldn't stop the itching, stupid jungle mosquitos. A frown crossed her features as she continued to walk in some unknown direction, though she knew she wasn't very fair from the duplexes.

Emerwyn had had quite a long day. A day of new faces and new dreams.
Her heart still pounded fast in her chest as she returned to the village. It was possible. She could do it. She could dream - and hope.
Kaveri's words had inspired her so. That place of desolation and death had led her to hope again.

And it was with these thoughts she did go, heading back towards her duplex, when she saw another figure heading in the same general direction.
By the look of her, she was wearing some kind of fur stole. Though why, in this horrid heat, anyone would want to wear one was beyond her.

She continued to itch, and scratch, and then itch some more. God it's like a sauna here she thought as she continued to scratch at her chest, and then her neck and then behind her ears. I need to shave was an odd thought that slipped through her mind in her mantra of scratching and sweating. Then of course, she stopped walking all together. Whhhhyyy would she be needing to shave her...chest...and her ears and.......

She looked down. And then of course she panicked. "WHAT..." was the only thing that really registered with her mind to slip out of her lips in a more shrieking nose. She scratched more, and then harder. It seemed like the more she scratched the more the fur grew, and damn did her ears hurt. It was like someone was pulling at them. She continued to scratch, so much so that she was now not paying attention to where she was going. Just fevertantly scratching, yelling, and stumbling about as she did both.

And then, the furred woman began to act quite strangely. The way she was screaming and stumbling about - it were as though she were in some great pain.
Emerwyn began to notice that there was something strange about the furr garments, as well. When she got closer, she realized that it was getting - longer. This poor girl was transforming! Right this moment! Emerwyn rushed right up to her.
"Are you alright?!" She asked, reaching out her arms to support her. "Do you need any help?"

"I...I ....don't know!" Maryke muttered, her mouth upturned in a grimace of sorts. She continued to scratch and her delicately manicured fingernails now had bit of blood on them, also present as flecks in her white fur. "What....what's....happening to me!!" She just couldn't stop scratching, finally she fell backwards right onto her butt and since the whole time she had stepped foot out of her duplex she stopped scratching instantly.

Though only because she had stopped itching and her ears felt.....funny. VERY funny. The pulling sensation had went away but it now felt her ears had popped and she was hearing things with new found clarity. She reached up, felt the thick furred ears, HER ears and then... she screamed. All at once she had began tugging at them, screaming in pain and at the fact that the wretched things wouldn't come off. She was so wrapped in what was happening to her that she failed to notice the new stranger who had chanced to her aide.

It was the woman's first change, obviously, and she was not handling it well. Emerwyn was not even able to leave her room when she was changing, the pain was so great. But, perhaps this one was delayed. It was apparant that it had not started that long ago.

Emerwyn knelt down beside her, completely unsure of what to do. Awkwardly, she place an arm around her shoulders, and spoke soft soothing words to her. There really was not much to do, after all. But the one thing she couldn't do was leave the woman alone to suffer.

Even though Maryke was probably considered a b***h by some and a bit of a primadona by most she still couldn't help but feel completely and utterly vulenerable in the moment. Finally after her ears were sore to the point of being extremely painful she stopped tugging. They wouldn't come off. The fur wouldn't either and that only meant one thing...

"It happened," she whispered, once she was sure her 'changes' had stopped. "This is it....this is....what everyone was warning me about." The woman's words had helped, a lot. And Maryke was thankful for them, but right now she was in too much shock to really register what was happening to her. She only knew two things.

One, was that it hurt, mainly because she herself had scratched cuts into her chest and pulled her own ears, and two, was that this.. whatever montrocity had taken hold of her body....was permanent.

Emerwyn hoped that she had brought what little comfort she could to the poor woman.
She gazed on sadly at her as she spoke, and then nodded somberly.
She saw the smatterings of blood on her body and only felt worse for her.
"Is... there anything I can do for you, get for you...? I could help you back to your duplex..."

She blinked once, and then slowly the inner wheels in her head began to tick back into normal flow. "I'm sorry..." she said in a near whisper as she stood to her full height, each movement snail like as she tried not to let her mind swarm with too many thoughts at once. Too many questions, not enough answers.

"M'sorry.." she whispered again, finally ticking her eyes to look at Emerwyn properly. Yes, there probably wasn't a need for so many sorries, but the words slipped as her brain lagged. She blinked once more and then the question came into play. "What...? Oh...." a hand went down to rub at her chest and she felt dizzy. She nodded, "Maybe that's a good idea...what...what's your name?"

""I am Emerwyn." She smiled, and rose with the newly changed.
"Come. I will take you to your duplex." She used her arm to support her toward the duplexes.

"Emerwym," Maryke repeated, looking at the woman in a new light. Some sort of common ground now that she was becoming animalistic. She didn't even stop to think WHAT she was changing into, only she just felt weary at the moment.

"okay," she murmured, leaning into Emerwyn as she walked, the new changes draining her and making her dizzy.

Emerwyn walked slowly and carefully, so the girl wouldn't collapse. She did not bother to ask the girl's name. She didn't want to overburden her even in the slgihtest.
She let the young woman lead her to the proper duplex, and opened the door for her.
