"Sevati... Ausi?"

*With a soft frown upon his dark muzzle the large male slowly moved himself along the path that lay covered in the sent of his offspring. It was getting late and two of his daughters had not come home yet. With worry, like any good father would have he went out in search of them. His black and white hued mane softly batted along his envy colored eyes as he moved himself away from his den. He needed to have all of his cubs home at night- just to be on the safe side.

His mate was still rather sick and until she became well again he would have to keep a close eye on them. A deep sigh passed his chest as she stopped and sat himself down; the black bags that hung under his eyes softly closed and engulfed his vision completely. For a while he did nothing... he simply sat still- thinking about where it was his two little ones could have run off to.*

On his way home from wence he'd gone, Zimwi moved like a ghost amid the folliage of the jungle. It almost seemed fitting of him to be there, in a land of dying life. Yet he felt safe there, hidden despite his pelt amid the dead leaves and living leaves alike, amid the trees and the mists. The many paths he'd come to know, avoiding any signs of danger, or danger as he percieved it. Which was why he was startled when his path crossed with that of a large red lion with a black and white mane. Terror of days long gone gripped at the adolescent , orange eyes widening with old fears. A lion with a red or brown pelt, he'd not seen in a long time. Because of one of Denge and Ithi's daughters, he'd come to accept at least black lions in life, but others... He was still fearful, and it showed with every fiber of his being.

*Tilting his head to the side the large male slowly turned and stopped. He had not seen another male in what seemed like forever- maybe this was because of his mates condition? Whatever the reason behind it was Akamu felt better seeing another within the lands. He was a lot smaller in frame then Akamu was- but that didn’t much bother the red male. With a soft smile Akamu’s green eyes settled upon the male kindly as he spoke out, his tone welcoming.*

"Hello."

*Pulling himself to stand Akamu’s eyes moved from the male before him to the lands around him. What would happen if he couldn’t find his cubs? His mate would have a fit. Frowning at the though of losing his daughters the male turned back and asked.*

"Have you seen two female cubs playing around here? One black and red and the other white and red?"

*Akamu had not stopped to think about anyone fearing him- in his own mind he wasn’t any different from anyone else around here.*

Swallowing hard, the white lion tried his best not to gain a yellow stain to his snowy coat. "N-no, I haven't..." He hadn't seen ANY cubs since he'd come across Kimaji earlier on. A wild dog, maybe, but not cubs. Ears moving back, he lowered his head rather submissively. It was his lot in life, Zimwi was a submissive lion.

"I see."

*Akamu smiled at first but as soon as he turned back to look at the white coated male his smile faded. What- what was wrong with him? He acted very...weak, and afraid. Akamu’s eyes narrowed softly as he called out to the lion once more.*

"Are you alright...?"

*Still too blind to see the stress in the younger males movements, Akamu stood up and eyed him over carefully. Why did he act this way?*

Shrinking down under the much older male's gaze, Zimwi swallowed again. A slight whimper escaped before he crammed out "Pleasedon'tkillme!" while cover his face with his paws. Indeed, his old fears had come back to haunt him, which was a bad thing if he was ever to meet others in the lands.

"What?"

*Akamu frowned again and titled his head to the side in confusion. What on earth was he talking about? With a soft tone he did is best to show that he wasn’t going to harm the younger male.*

"I am not going to harm you-- I am just looking for my cubs."

*He nodded softly, giving the male a light smile as he did this.*

"I promise I won’t lay a paw on you- I just really need to find my girls before it gets late."

Carefully peeking out, Zimwi looked up at Akamu. "Y-you're not gonna kill me...?" He did his best to relax, making a minor improvement. Just enough that he wouldn't get a horrible, screaming, and painful cramp somewhere from how tense he was, at least. His ears flicked as the large red lion mentioned what he saught, causing Zimwi to think of his adopted nieces and nephews. Shaking his head, he sat up a bit. "I haven't seen any cubs with red on them anywhere..."

"Why on earth would I kill you?"

*The male question with a soft frown. He had not done anything to make Akamu want to harm him- moving his sight around the male green orbs slowly scanned the area before he paused.*

"Do you think you could help me look for them?"

*The male asked kindly, before giving him a smile.*

"I know they are around here some where.."

Zimwi swallowed a bit, sititng up slightly. "Well.. Wh-when I was little, a bunch of lions killed my f-family because we were all so pale, and I've been afraid since of that happening to me..." His ears flicked just a bit, the pale adolescent nodding. "OKay... I can help you look." He stood up, looking around. "They can't be too hard to find... I mean, if they're partially red, they might be easier to find amid the green..."

“One of them is almost pure with white… she has a bit of red and yellow on her.. And then there is Ausi, she is mostly a charcoal color with a bit of pinkish-red on her.. she has my marking if that helps..”

*He nodded kindly and smiled at the pale male.*

“Well, don’t worry. I wouldn’t harm you because of what you look like. That is very silly… I am sorry about your family.”

*Akamu nodded and frowned slightly. What a sad thing to have happen to him. Looking around he grew worried. Would anyone harm his girls because of how they looked?*

He seemed like a kind lion, and Zimwi trusted his word. He hadn't done anything to harm him yet, and he did appear more worried about his daughters. Relaxing completely, the pale lion rose up on his hind paws as he had once seen a meerkat do, scanning the folliage.

After a moment, he closed his eyes and relied on his ears and nose. He didn 't smell anything similar to the massive lion, but he heard rustling coming from the direction of the river. Dropping to his paws again, orange eyes looked up to Akamu. "I hear something by the river... Rustling leaves, a cracking branch... It doesn't sound like a prey beast, since they tend to try and remain quiet... You could try there."

*With a soft nod the large male smiled and nodded.*

“I see, thank you for your help but I must be off now, I have to find them before my mate wakes up.”

*He laughed and turned himself from the pale colored youth. He wouldn’t forget his acts of kindness. Akamu’s black toed paws softly pressed against the dry earth as he started to pad off into the direction of the river in hopes of finding two of his tree cubs before night time fell.*

“Take care!”

*He called out before dashing off.*

The white and gray lion nodded, sitting down. "You, too!" Watching the red and black lion dash off, Zimwi couldn't help but look back over the experience. It was progress for him, and this was a major thing. He wasn't likely to forget the older lion. Rising again, he continued towards the caves and the shrinking waterfall.
