OK i really hope this isnt a repeat so..yeah xp . well for this topic just tell us your top reason for loving green day and what they have done for you. For me, i love their negative attitude about everything. and they really showed me how cool rebels & rejects can be. same for you guys?

This is a really cool topic! Um, Green Day has showed me not to be afraid of being myself around other and to do w/e I want and to be crazy and all that stuff. And it also showed me a new genre of music when I first heard them and to express yourself in any way you want. They were the one that got me into their kinda of music (punk rock, rock, punk melody etc.) and I also agree with xXxX_Haushinka_xXxX on what she said 3nodding ! And if it weren't for them, then I'd still be my preppy self in ponytails LOVING Hello Kitty for the rest of my frickin' life! scream And the songs REALLY relate to me, so I can know that I'm not the only one feeling that I'm the most strangest thing in the world and that I know someone else can feel the same things that I do. And yeah...I'm done 3nodding

so you're asking why i like green day and what they/the music have done to me? ok...
-i like them because the music is great. and i can relate to most of it.
sometimes it feels as if my feelings are just one of their songs. and i think that's pretty cool. because i can relate to them so much.-
as far as what the music did.... nothing that i can come up with at this moment, all that i do has been chosen to be done earlier anyway.
so.. idk.
they don't seem to be very negative about much.
really. or at least i don't see it that way.
and as far as "how cool rebel's and rejects" are.
it doesn't matter. they're all people. you are what you are.
and are accepted for it or not.....

Green Day, for me, had done quite a lot. I've liked them for as long as I can remember (even if I didn't know their name at the time). They inspire me when I write songs. I'll listen to them and a few other idols of mine before I start writing and they give me so many ideas. They've showed me that there's no such thing as being normal if you're being who you really are. Green Day's always stood up for what they believe in and managed to have fun and cause damage in the process, which I admire. That's how I'm like, and a part of me thinks it might be because of listening to them for such a long time. And as much as we all think we're different, we're the same too. In some ways, just liking the same band can give us potential as a generation of "young and restless rebels without a cause". Even that term isn't right. We're the "young and restless rebels with a cause=which is to play the sh...(sorry xp ) daylights out of life!

So, what has Green Day ever done for us, really?
*ish so tempted to quote off Monty Python, but won't...*
This may end up being a big rant about emo-ness, and feeling cra and whatnot. Feel free to ignore it. 3nodding
1. Whenever the mood swings reach an all new low, I stick on "Dominated Love Slave", dance around, until the mood swing passes.
2. This reason is going to sound very stupid, and copied from "Green Day's Dookie", but it's true for me. "Dookie" saved my life; when I was really badly in depression, all I listened to was that album, and I stopped feeling depressed. & I know it sounds stupid, but I don't care.
3. Their amazingly funny outlook on life. They're hysterical, and they always look on the Bright side of life (To me, anyway), and.... yeah.
4. How smecksi Edwin is. (sorry, I felt like putting that in)
5. Billie's talent at writing songs. Seriously, whenever I put my iPod on random, it always puts out a Green Day song with lyrics that actually relate (HOLIDAY IS ON BE RIGHT BACK) to what's going on at that moment in my life. Spooky.
6. They cover all of the best songs.
7. They introduced me to their style of music.
8. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be as outgoing as I am now. As in, I wouldn't be as weird; I guess.
I'm getting bored of this post, so I'm going to stop now.

Green Day has much for me.
I used to really depressed. I actually starting thinking about suicide at one point. Then I received AI. I dun know what it was, but I really enjoyed the music. It was clever and like nothing I'd never heard. I got more of their music, and could really relate to the songs. A month or so later, my friends were saying I was acting a lot happier than I had been in a long time. I was feeling much happier as well. I was a happier person.
Green Day also showed me to not give a s**t and stand for what you believe; to be an individual and *steals from Yellie and Monty Python* look on the Bright Side of Life... *cough*
Yesh, if it weren't for Green Day, I'd probably be six feet under 3nodding

Yeah i agree their music is very clever and unique. I think in a way their music does really cheer you up at times. for example whenever im panicky or having mood swings, i watch the music video "basket case" and i just start cracking up. lol xd

Yeah, their music encouraged me to be myself and not care what people think! It also made me feel better about not being perfect all the time.
