(( This is for anyone who wants to RP With Daffy and get to know him 3nodding ))
Dafina's paw had healed well and he was doing much better after rest with the pack. He realized it wasn't so bad being around others, but he was still very nervous and cautious. Looking around and watchg as the clouds rolled across the warm sun Dafina thought it might be a good idea to go down to the water and paly... or drink.
"Would anyone like to come with me?" He asked a little too quiet, but he wanted to cover his a** incase he wasn't allowed to go somewhere without permission.. or bringing someone.

An ear perked up when he heard Dafina's near silent question. Indigo eyes grew over the tall grass to peer at him. He was having a nice nap. This day was nice and warm, he had nothing to do really. At the pridelands they were really all at peace. Slowly he got up from his laying position, pausing only to yawn, stretch, and scratch.
Slowly he padded through the grasses and made his appearance to Dafina. "I told the pack that I'd keep an eye on you." It was a statement. One that stated that he was obviously going with the male. Rather in fact, it would be a good chance to look for prey. If the two of them brought back something to eat, the pack were destined to trust Dafina more. That's how it was.

Dafina stared at Haveo. He didn't respond, but he didn't feel as much hatred towards this male as the rest of the natural colored males in the group. He really did seem quite handsome when Dafina looked him over well.
Nodding to his statement he began walking and thinking. Staying silent for a while as the two would get away from the others. "Why did you stand up for me?" It was a simple question.. Nobody had done anything like that for Dafina before... He kinda liked it.

Haveo followed Dafina without a word. Slowly he moved a bit faster, matching pace with the mostly black male. He kept his head up, indigo orbs darting everywhere for a source of a meal. Something a simple as a bird would do. But a wildebeest would be better for their increasing group. Still, if it was just the two of them a wildebeest would be hard to take down, unless it was practically dead anyway.
He blinked and turned his head to his charge upon hearing the small question. He turned his head back to keep on look out. "Haiji has a dream to restore her pack to full. I want to help her with that. Plus, when I met her I was too starved to fight as you had. I could recognize that it would be better of both you and her if we gave you the chance to be apart of this." His words were solid. Though honestly, he himself thought that they were too stiff.
Either way this one was his charge and as that he was going to look after him. He felt something for the male. A maternity sense? Companionship? He didn't know, he didn't dare explore it. He was a hunter and it was his duty to look after the pack. All of them. Just like they had done for him. His head flashed back to when he was a pup, when he was found by his hyena mother. She would always stand up for him, provide him with what he needed when the rest of that pack denied him. Was that why? Did this male somehow remind him of times past?

From the tall grass, Haiji watched the pair of dogs go. They were still very unfamiliar to her, having not spoken to them as much as she had with Ujuzi. Well she must remedy that!
Lifting herself up, she walked casually after them, half listening to their conversation. She didn't mean to overhear, but it was hard not to when she was trying to catch up, though slowly. And it was interesting to hear because she too had wondered about Haveo's actions. Listening she couldn't help but be impressed by his sense of responsibility and kindness.

Dafina slowed his step a little while watching Haveo. A pack... He thought, Maybe he could find himself a mate if there were more! Oh restore it.. "Are there only the dogs that i've seen apart of the pack?" Dafina tried to see Haveo weak and starved like he was, he couldn't. He became slightly nervous being in anothers company now, what if he said something wrong...?
A pain flared up in his paw which he had sliced so he was walking and every 4th beat he threw his leg up, barely putting pressure on it. But He still tried to make it look like he was walking fine by putting it down. It'd disappear soon enough he thought. "I guess..." Dafina said "Well..." he turned foreward and stopped watching him. "Thanks." he whispered. He paused in his step for a minute. "Did you hear something?" Dafina came to a complete stop and looked around, everywhere except behind him.

Haveo continued searching the horizon. "Yes, currently it's only Haiji, Ujuzi, myself, that other male...and perhaps you, if you choose to stay with us." Indigo orbs flashed briefly to the male. The other's walk seemed slightly off, but from his previous display, the other would be the tough guy until the end.
Haveo couldn't help but blink when he was thanked. Why thank him? He normally did things that would benefit at least one being. This being one of the more recent ones. His ear perked at the red male's question. He sensed no danger. He'd let the male find things out on his own.
His ears perked another way. The natural-colored male bent his head forward. Footsteps. Alot of them. There! His eyes caught the image. A small band of gazelles. Perfect.

Seeing as her presence was being detected, Haiji decided to come forward. Picking up her pace a little, she trotted up to join them.
"Only me." She smiled pleasantly. "Thought I would join you for a drink. The Pridelands really are a wonderful place to relax." she looked at Dafina and his injured leg, though his limp was hardly noticable thanks to his show of walking on it normally. "And to recuperate. How are you fairing Dafina?"
Seeing Haveo's attention was caught by something else, she paused and looked at him quizzically.

Dafina lowered his head slightly, but not much. "Yes. A drink." Dafina didn't know what to say. Haiji was such a speciman of a female. "I am fairing." he said... You are fairing? You numbskull.
Turning his attention to where Haveo stared he saw the gazelles as well. "Shall we?" Dafina turned his Attention to Haiji. "You should stay here, I'm sure we could bring one down on our own" He said looking to Haveo.

Haveo blinked out of his hunter's mode. He was very determined to bring down some prey. The pack was growing larger and the sooner that they perfected their uniformed technique the better. The male took his eyes off their soon to be victims to nose Haiji in a greeting.
His eyes turned sharp as he looked to Dafina. "Haiji is our alpha. She is just as capable to hunt as any of us. A pack stays together, lives together, celebrates together, mourn together, and most importantly, hunts together." his voice now was much different from before. Much harsher, stronger, and more determined. They had a pack to provide for and all the members were needed. "Besides, these are gazelles. Gazelles are much more agile than a wildebeest. We needed a strategy to get one of these, not pure speed and power."
Indigo eyes snapped onto the prey. They were all huddled in a group, grazing. It would be much harder to just run up and grab one now. They were always so alert. His mind was calculating all sorts of strategies for the three of them, but it all lied within their alpha's decision.

Returning Haveo's greeting nudge, she nodded to Dafina. "Pleased to hear it. By the time Ujuzi's pups are born and grown enough to travel I'm sure you will be long healed. And perhaps decided on the direction of your future?" She meant of course, whether he would decide to stay with them, and be tolerant enough of the others to be accepted.
"I've no doubt you could with just the pair of you, but while there are the three of us we should use all our skills." Haiji replied. Unlike Haveo, who seemed to take Dafina's comment to mean she was incapable, Haiji thought it was more of an act to impress her. She had noticed some of the looks she'd recieved but so far had only assumed them to be because of her role in the pack. After all, his future with them, should he want to join, would ultimately have to be approved by her.
"And yes, a strategy would improve our chances. Any ideas?" She wanted the others to show their skills and not be afraid to voice their ideas. As Haveo had said, a pack did things together and everyone was allowed to contribute.

Dafina thought. He was so used to hunting by himself, small prey.. He looked to Haveo. "I did not mean she was incapable, I just thought that we wouldn't want her to get hurt.." Dafina felt the urge to finish with You're not her mate, you will not have the heir to continue her legacy and fufill the pack But he knew very little about who was with who and why... and the whole ins and outs of this pack life. "They are smarter than them too." He thought back to when He and Jamaa were fighting. He had pushed Jamaa back until he would fall off a rock. "Are there any cliffs here? Any chance we could push a few into a stampeded and have them fall?" He didn't know hardly any of the area... He just knew how to pass though it. "Or if the fastest of us, runs to group the heard slightly tigher, by running in an arch on the side and we were on the oposite side and end the push them then the who ever was on the end could go back and forth trying to keep a few trapped, a baby maybe, and the sides could then attack one, and the end could then join in taking it down?" Dafina wasn't the best hunter, but he was a good thinker when he needed to be. Often too good a thinker, spewing eloborate plans that didn't work as well as he imgined them to. He looked to Haiji to see what she thought...And Haveo, but his opinion was not who he needed approval from. As he did, he noticed Haiji's black maw, that covered up her face, and went down like a bib, He found this intriging the way her colors were. Natural... He shouldn't like Natural colored dogs. So he shook his thoughts away pretending it were a pesty fly.

Haveo cringed at his own voice. He was usually not so harsh. It must be the adrenaline. It was putting him on edge. The hunt would be important, especially with the large litter that would be arriving soon. Yes that was it...right?
The natural male exhaled slowly, he had to calm himself. Being rash was no way to help a pack. He trained his eyes upon the gazelles, ears swiveled towards Dafina's voice. Cliffs? His mind remembered tales of the pridelands from the hyenas. "The pridelands are mostly flat and have hills. There are few cliffs and those are closer to the graveyard. there are some around here, but the cliffs are far too steep for us to easily climb in and out of. Especially if we're dragging a body with us."
Faults. No faults. They needed the food. He needed to help the pack. Protect the pack. Provide for the pack.
"The gazelles would mostly likely dart out towards any hole they could find. Or round the lambs in the center. Most gazelle bands will move in a group. They know that if they're separated from the group they'll become the obvious target." The male sighed. Gazelles were hard to hunt. Their agility was the problem. He looked back to their future victims. He scanned almost desperately for one with an injury, or a new born, anything that would make their hunt easier. This was flat ground, the gazelles had the advantage. "We could try stationing ourselves. Have one of us drive a gazelle into an ambush. Somewhere where the terrain has more obstacles for them to move around. To slow it down..."
Haveo's eyes were still on the gazelles. Any clue that just one, any one, would have the slightest bit of trouble in moving, it would be a blessing.

Haiji gave the males a small smile. "I will take any risks that I ask my pack brothers and sisters to take." She nodded in comfirmation. But Dafina's consideration was pleasing, especially after his first impression.
"I don't fancy sending a whole herd over a cliff." Haiji mused. "I hear the lions in these lands are quite strict on not wasting life and food. Besides, how'd we get down after them?" But it seemed Haveo knew there weren't any cliffs close so they needed another idea.
Dafina's plan had some good points, as did Haveo's. Haiji peered closely into the herd, trying to look for any signs of weakness that they could aim for.
"There!" She urged in excitement, her gaze trained on one older-looking gazelle that was standing eating but with a hind leg lifted gingerly off the ground. "I'm sure that's a limp. Perhaps we should volunteer the two fastest of us to single it out, separate it from the rest and aim it towards the third?"

Dafina nodded to Haiji and almost put his head down as an aplogy. Really he was looking back admiring her details from another angle. "Not wasting life and food.." He raised his head "Well that makes sense." He look at Haveo. "It was only an idea." He sat down and use his good paw to scratch at his ear, He thought to himself that he could really use a bath. "I think you two should run after him." He knew is he tried to run he'd become a threelegged again. However, there was always the chance the thing would make him run anyways, he wouldn't get a good bite on the creature. But Dafina would readily let it go if he threated his already sore paw. It was nice to walk on all fours again. "When you two head if off towards me i'll try and get a bite on it's neck, Then i'm sure you'll be chasing after it, and then we can bring it down...?" Dafina gave that a questioning nature to see what the others thought.
