Chapter 5 - A Dangerous Relationship
School the next morning
Student 1: Good Morning
Student 2: How's it going?
Momoi: (Sob) (Thinking) Only three days left before Momoi's grandfather returns from Hawaii... I wonder if my body will be okay 'til then. Still... I have kind of mixed feelings about going back to my old body. ....WHA?! This is not good. I think I've gotten a little too used to being a girl. I'd better go back to being a guy as soon as possible. Otherwise there might not be any going back...
[The classroom door rattles a bit as he opens it, where Uehara is speaking to a few guys in the class.]
Uehara: Just between you and me, fellas - she was awesome!
Guy 1: (Gulp)
Guy 2: (Gulp) So not, like, I guess you're a man. Must be nice.
Uehara: (Glowing) Let me tell you, it was so good!
[At this point Momoi grabs "him" and drags "him" out the classroom door.]
(Guy 1: Wha?! Uehara!)
(Guy 2: What's goin' on?)
[Shina also saw Uehara getting dragged out.]
Shina: (Thinking) ...............
....
The Stairway
Momoi: (Wheeze wheeze) Momoi... Don't tell me you...
Uehara: Look, seeing as how I'm a man and all, it's only natural I'd wanna... You know, see what it was like. (So what?)
Momoi: WHEN? WITH WHO?!
Uehara: Some chick who was hittin' on me at the convenience store yesterday. (I don't know who she really was...)
[Momoi totters a bit.]
Momoi: I... I can't believe it. How can you be so cruel?! That was supposed to have been my... my first!
Uehara: (A kantana cuts though Momoi's head, Nankako tries to cover a laugh) Your what? (Pweheh!) Oops! Sorry 'bout that.
Uehara: (Facing the other way so she doesn't notice a death marker that reads "Here Lies Uehara"* or the chinnng sound in the background, serious now) Anyway, forget about it. It's no big deal for a guy. But my body is different story. Until I'm married, that body is off-limits!
Momoi: I... I'd never do something like that! (Thinking) Because the person I really want is...
Uehara: (Is glowing again) Y'know, I really like bein' a guy! heart I think it matches my personally a lot more!
[[Theres an arrow pointing to her that reads "Already acting like one"]]
[Momoi starts getting tears in "her" eyes as he hears this... he dashes off.]
Uehara: Uehara!
[On his way though the hallway, he passes Shina.]
Shina: Nanako? Nanako...
[Shina has reached the stairway.]
Shina: (On seeing Uehara there) Oh.
Shina: Uehara. Homeroom is about to start.
[Uehara's heart starts beating faster. (Ba-dump Ba-dump)]
Uehara: Uh, okay. (Thinking) Since the other day, I've had the strangest feeling. Hmm. Has Shina always been... This cute?
[Meanwhile... Momoi is still running through the hallway, crying. Through an open doorway Senbongi notices "her", and goes out into the hallway after "her".]
Senbongi: Nanako?
Momoi: (Turning around) Oh, Senbongi.
[Senbongi's heart starts going Ba-dump ba-dump.]
Senbongi: What is it? The teacher will be here soon.
Momoi: (Clearing the tears away) I don't feel very well. I think I'm going to go see the nurse. Will you tell the teacher for me?
Senbongi: Are you sure you're ok? Let me go with you.
Momoi: I'll be fine by myself.
Senbongi: No. I'm going with you.
[Meanwhile, back with Uehara and Shina: They are both walking to class.]
Shina: Uehara. Did anything happen beteen you and Nanako?
Uehara: (Twitching a bit) What?! Uh, no... Nothing's happened. Why?
Shina: You guys sure are together a lot lately.
Uehara: You think so?
Shina: Uh-huh.
Uehara: (Thinking) Damn. Has she found out about us?
Shina: Lately... Nanako's been acting so... So feminine. I was wondering if maybe she fell in love with someone.
Uehara: (Pissed) What?! You cow, I've always been feminine!
Shina: (Confused) Huh?
Uehara: (Patting her on the back) Wait. Are you telling me you're gonna feel all lonely if Momoi finds herself a boyfriend? (Heh!) Aah, you sure are a cutie.
Shina: (Panicking) What?! No, I... I just...
[Uehara just stares at her...]
Shina: (Also stareing back) I...
[Now their both stareing at each other, as Shina blushes deeply.]
Uehara: Shina?
[Meanwhile, Momoi and Senbongi have made it to the Nurse's office, who's out at the moment. Senbongi has just tucked Momoi into bed.]
You're so cruel, Momoi.
You have no idea how I feel about you.
Senbongi: Are you sure you don't need any medicine?
Momoi: No, I'm fine now. Thank you. You should get back to class.
Why would you do this to someone who loves you?
Why am I so...
[Momoi starts tearing up again.]
Senbongi: Momoi. You're not okay, are you? Are you hurt?
Momoi: (Hic) No, it's not that.
Senbongi: (Leaning closer) Please, don't cry. C'mon...
Momoi: Sen...
[Momoi is cut off as Senbongi closes the gap between them for a kiss. Momoi is shocked and speechless.]
Senbongi: (Stareing into Momoi's eyes, an inch from "her" face) I really... really like you.
WHOA.
[Senbongi goes in for another kiss.]
Momoi: (Thinking) WAIT JUST A MINUTE!! (Outloud) Senbongi! Stop! MMPH! (Thinking) WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU, MAN?! (Outloud) Mmph. Mmph. (Thinking) It's me! Akira Uehara!! The guy you've known since elementary school! Let go... ........................... (My body is...) He's the same age as me, so why is he so good at this? (Weaking.)
[The curtains around the bed rattle as their pulled open.]
Nurse: Oh, my!
[Senbongi has stopped, though Momoi still looks flushed.]
Nurse: (Continuing) Are you feeling ill? I'm sorry. I had to step out for a moment.
Senbongi: Sure. I was just helping her into bed. I hope you don't mind.
[He turns and opens the door on his way out.]
Senbongi: (Continuing) Anyway, I have to get back to class. Please take good care of her.
Nurse: Will do.
[Senbongi stops at the doorway and looks back at Momoi.]
Senbongi: (Smiling) Hey, Momoi. Get some rest, okay. I'll be back to check on you later.
Momoi: (Thinking, total freaked) I MUST RETURN TO MY BODY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
I think Senbongi will come to his senses if Momoi goes back to being her normal self.
I can't wait for her grandfather to get back from Hawii.
....
Uehara: (Casually eating a bun and reading a magaine) By the way, me and Shina are dating. And y'know, I think I'd like to stay like this for a while longer. Even after my grandpa gets back.
[Momoi turns deathly pale.]
Momoi: (Sarcastically) Thanks a lot, buddy. Appreciate it.
[Meanwhile in Hawaii.]
Grandpa: (Looking up at the sky, where a plane is flying off) There goes my plane...

* "Here Lies Uehara" - Just in case your wondering what's happening, poor Uehara went ( in terms of the shock he's received ) from being sliced in half to actually dead and buried. The chinnng in the background is of someone striking the high-pitched bell that precedes offerings up a prayer on behalf of the deceased.
