My Name is Kim Sam Soon (내 이름은 김삼순) - Absolutely charming. HyunBin and Daniel Henney are both beautiful people. Kim Seon-Ah is great and I respect her for not only putting on the weight to play the part, but also refusing to make the series into the cliche "she gets pretty and that's why she gets the guy at the end" series. Unlike ChoonHyang, in the series below, she's actually spunky and has a strong backbone. Go Kim Sam Soon!
Delightful Girl ChoonHyang (쾌걸춘향) - the soundtrack was good and Jae Hee, who played Mong Ryong, was wonderful. He also starred in 3 Iron (빈집), which has a director I like too.
razz Plus, the ChoonHyang legend is played on well as a modern version. Of course, the legend is changed around a bit, but since I am familiar with the legend, there were plenty of parts in the drama that made me laugh out loud.
DaMo (다모) - Ay, this is the drama that made me respect Ha JiWon as an actress. I don't really have a very high opinion of acting talent for young good-looking Korean actors, but she totally won me over. Good job, young woman. (Plus, she looks a little bit like my little sister, so I have some bias toward supporting her.)
JuMong (주몽) - A really interesting and exciting combination of legend, history, romance, action, and intrigue, this series really impressed me. The guy who plays Jumong, Song Il-Guk, is very convincing! As forumers would say, he's a total n00b in the beginning of the series, but he makes believable progress toward becoming the legendary man of Korean history, who founded the first strong kingdom, Gogoryo (one of the 3 kingdoms that would later unite to become the Korean nation.)
Dae Jang Guem is pretty good as well, but it's been a while since I watched it, and I haven't had a chance to finish it yet.
